The Israeli army also reported additional air raids, including in the Tyre and Iqlim al-Tuffah regions. The strikes reportedly killed Hezbollah commanders, including Mohammad Khodor al-Husseini, described as the 'commander of the firepower unit in the Litani sector.'

Although a ceasefire agreement has officially been in effect since November 27, Israeli aerial and artillery attacks have continued, particularly in Lebanon's southern and eastern regions, with Lebanese authorities recording over 3,000 ceasefire violations and reporting that Israeli forces remain stationed at five locations along the shared border.
Tensions have intensified over the past 48 hours, with Israel significantly expanding its military operations in Lebanese territory. The escalation comes amid broader regional tensions following the outbreak of direct hostilities between Israel and Iran.
In response to the mounting conflict, Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem declared late Thursday the group's alignment with Tehran. 'Hezbollah is not neutral when it comes to Iran's legitimate rights and independence versus the injustice of the US, its aggression, and the cancerous entity—Israel,' Qassem said.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz responded by warning Qassem directly, stating that he 'has not learned from the fate of his predecessors,' and that Hezbollah 'should tread carefully' in its actions moving forward.

'Last night, a drone crashed in a deserted area near Erbil. These attacks are being carried out by some groups affiliated with Hashd al-Shaabi with the intention of creating chaos. It is necessary for the relevant parties in the federal government to set limits on these destructive acts and take legal measures against the perpetrators,' the ministry said in a statement late Friday. It denied claims that an Israeli base was hit in the drone attack, reiterating that no Israeli bases exist in the Region. An explosive-laden drone was intercepted near Erbil International Airport on Thursday, but 'did not cause any casualties or material damage,' the Directorate General of Counter Terrorism (CTD), which is part of the Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC), said. The renewed drone activity follows the US-brokered ceasefire that went into effect on June 24, ending the 12-day war between Iran and Israel. During the conflict, numerous drones and rockets flew through the airspace of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, where several drones fell or were intercepted.

Gaza ceasefire unveiled, Hamas responds positively
Shafaq News – Gaza/Middle East Hamas submitted a 'positive' response to the US-backed Gaza ceasefire proposal, a Palestinian official told Reuters on Friday. The proposed ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas—mediated by Egypt and Qatar, outlines a 60-day truce with phased hostage exchanges and humanitarian aid provisions, guaranteed by US President Donald Trump. Eight living hostages would be released on day one. On day seven, Hamas would return the bodies of five deceased hostages, followed by five more bodies on day thirty. Two additional hostages would be freed alive on day fifty, and eight more deceased hostages would be returned on day sixty. The proposal also includes the immediate transfer of humanitarian aid to Gaza upon Hamas's acceptance of the deal. Deliveries must continue throughout the 60-day truce and be provided 'in large quantities and based on need,' referencing the humanitarian aid agreement signed on January 19, 2025. Distribution would be coordinated through agreed channels, including the United Nations and the Red Crescent. Military and intelligence aerial activity over Gaza would be paused for 10 hours daily—or 12 hours on days when hostages are released. Moreover, on the first day of the agreement, Israeli forces would reposition in northern Gaza following the release of live hostages. After the return of deceased hostages on day seven, a further redeployment would occur in the south. The proposal also mandates negotiations during the truce on key issues aimed at reaching a permanent ceasefire. These talks would address the release of all remaining Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, Israeli troop withdrawals, long-term security arrangements, governance of Gaza after the war, and the formal declaration of peace.
