KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 (Bernama) -- In recognition of civil servants as the backbone of Malaysia's development, Astro, the nation's leading content and entertainment provider, launched a special value-driven entertainment package with savings of up to RM960 for them.
In a statement released today, Astro said the 'Exclusive Civil Servants Offer' consists of Astro One packs, offering a variety of premium content, including a wide selection of channels, Astro's signature local programmes, Astro Originals, on-demand entertainment and Astro GO access.
It said the offer, which is available immediately to over 1.6 million civil servants in Malaysia, is a testament to Astro's recognition of the vital role government employees play in the nation's progress and well-being.
'Recognising the diverse preferences of civil servants and their families, the packages include options for streaming services, news, education, sports, films, and local and international entertainment while also maximising their entertainment budget,' the statement said.

'Highlights include substantial savings of up to RM960 along with complimentary viewing of the Kids Add-On and free installation via Plug and Play,' it said.
According to Astro, the Astro One Entertainment Pack provides access to more than 100 channels, featuring a captivating array of local and international content designed for all family members.
For civil servants, Astro is offering an exclusive monthly rate of RM39.99 compared to the recommended retail price (RRP) of RM49.99 per month, with customers able to enjoy popular shows including Big Stage Alpha, Dia Bukan Syurga, Seribu Tahun, and Astro Originals' First Wives and many more.

The Tohoku Kizuna Festival is a collaborative event of the Tohoku region's six major festivals, initiated as part of the recovery efforts from the Great East Japan Earthquake. It will be held in six Tohoku cities each year, namely Aomori, Akita, Morioka, Yamagata, Sendai, and Fukushima. Guangxi's Baise City Deepens China-Vietnam Ties Through Cultural Exchange
KUALA LUMPUR, June 6 (Bernama) -- A series of cultural exchange events were held in Baise City, Guangxi, China, in April this year to mark the 75th anniversary of China-Vietnam diplomatic relations and the "Year of China-Vietnam Cultural Exchanges". According to the People's Government of Baise City in a statement, the activities aimed to promote mutual understanding and friendship, particularly among the younger generation, and to strengthen people-to-people ties between the two neighbouring countries. Baise City, which shares borders and close cultural ties with Vietnam, welcomed residents from Vietnam's Cao Bang Province, including participants from Cao Bang City, Trung Khanh District and Ha Quang District, to take part in the 2025 China-Vietnam Border Residents' San Yue San Festival Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition in Jingxi City.
