AUGIE SANCHEZ is part of one of the most exclusive clubs in boxing history - as one of only six men to have beaten Floyd Mayweather.
Mayweather retired as a professional in 2017 after making history by going 50-0 - a record still yet to be matched.

But as an amateur, he had 84 wins and just six defeats.
The most notable loss came in the 1996 Olympics when Bulgaria's Serafim Todorov was awarded a controversial decision in the semi-finals.
Mayweather blamed the defeat on corruption and turned pro the same year - while Todorov ended up working in a sausage factory.
But the last American to beat Mayweather was Sanchez - who won a decision in the 1996 Olympic trials.

Sanchez told BoxingNews24/7: 'I remember that [fight] like it was yesterday. Yeah, it was a very entertaining fight.
"Me and Floyd go back, to 1994, when we both made the team and were both Golden Gloves champions; at the time, he was boxing at 106 pounds.
"And later on that year, we were in Colorado Springs at the Olympic training centre, getting ready for the Olympic festival.
"So we were roommates and we became close and had a good friendship.

"And then he decided to move up, skip the 119-pound division and go to the 125 division.
"And that's when I ended up meeting him in the Nationals, the first year.
How Olympics defeat sparked Floyd Mayweather's unbeaten pro legacy while rival's career went wildly different direction
"A lot of people don't know about the first time we fought, when we fought in the Nationals, in the semi-finals.
"And we fought again at the Olympic trials in the finals, and that's when I ended up beating him.
"It was a great fight, and I managed to land some great power shots on him. I beat him by countering and timing his punches.'
Mayweather would later twice beat Sanchez to earn himself a spot at the 1996 Games - where he settled for bronze.
But as a pro, he won world titles in FIVE divisions and boasted of earning over £1BILLION in the ring.
Sanchez meanwhile turned pro in 1996 - the same year as Mayweather - and fought for the world title four years later.
But he was brutally knocked out in four by British legend Prince Naseem Hamed - the WBO featherweight champion at the time.
Sanchez had only three fights afterwards, retiring in 2001 after losing to John Michael Johnson at just 24.
He later became a trainer and joined Team USA as an Olympic coach in 2016.
Sanchez has also worked with the likes of heavyweight Michael Hunter and super-bantamweight champ Subaru Murata.
Ironically, Sanchez is also part of Curmel Moton's camp - the 19-year-old top prospect mentored by Mayweather.
Mayweather himself still fights in the occasional exhibition bout against stars of the boxing, MMA and celebrity world.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca opens up on heartbreak of losing team-mate at 22 in death that shocked footballing world

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) CHELSEA boss Enzo Maresca loves to celebrate with a cigar - but more than anything he wishes he could have a smoke with a team-mate who died in horrific circumstances. Maresca has enjoyed plenty of recent success, guiding the Blues to glory in the Conference League and Club World Cup. 5 Enzo Maresca has opened up on the heartbreaking loss of Antonio Puerta Credit: Getty 5 The pair played together at Sevilla and Maresca would love to share a cigar with his pal Credit: EPA 5 Puerta died after collapsing on the pitch from a cardiac arrest Credit: AFP After the latter, the Blues boss enjoyed one of his favourite Portagas 2 cigars, the brand he used to smoke with Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola when they were marking City's success. But when Maresca was asked to name the football personality he would most like to one of his favourite Portagas No 2 cigars with, the Italian gave a poignant answer - Antonio Puerta, who died aged 22 after suffering a cardiac arrest on the field. Maresca told Men in Blazers: 'That's a very good question. I will tell you, when I was 25, 26, I lost a team-mate inside the pitch. So if I could, I would like a cigar with him.' Midfielder Maresca had four seasons at Sevilla but his third campaign started in tragic fashion. The Italian was on the field when, just 35 minutes into the opening game of the 2007/8 season - at home against Getafe - Puerta suffered a cardiac arrest. After the wing-back collapsed and lost consciousness in the penalty area, team-mates and medical staff rushed to his aid. Puerta recovered enough to walk to the dressing room but collapsed again there. He was resuscitated and rushed to hospital, where he had to receive more life-saving resuscitation. But Puerta died three days later, on August 28, because of multiple organ failure and irreversible brain damage. It emerged that he had an incurable hereditary heart disease called arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy. His girlfriend was expecting their first child at the time of his death. When Puerta passed away, Maresca and the rest of the Seville squad were already in Greece for a Champions League qualifier against AEK Athens. Maresca, who played for Greek side Olympiakos later in his career, spoke about the tragedy when Chelsea went to Athens in October 2024 for a Conference League game against Panathinaikos. Maresca said: 'In terms of the season I spent here in Greece, for me it was very good with Olympiakos, a big rival with Panathinaikos. But unfortunately I lost a friend on the pitch when I was at Seville. 'The first game we played after that, we were already in Athens and just on that day, one of our team-mates passed away in Antonio Puerta. 'So it is a mixed feeling. The season in Athens was fantastic. But every time I come back here I am a little bit sad.' The Champions League game against AEK, which had been scheduled for the evening of the day Puerta died, was postponed. When Sevilla faced AC Milan in the Uefa Super Cup on August 31, all 22 players had the name Puerta on the back of their shirts. Sergio Ramos, who had come through the Sevilla academy and into the first team with Puerta, wore T-shirts in memory of Puerta after Spain's triumphs at Euro 2008 and the 2010 World Cup. Jesus Navas, who was on the field on the day Puerta collapse, made the same gesture after the 2010 World Cup final. In 2010, Sevilla unveiled a statue of Puerta at their training ground. Gianluigi Donnarumma open to move away from PSG amid reported Man Utd interest

Gianluigi Donnarumma is open to a move away from Paris St Germain this summer, the PA news agency understands (Mike Egerton/PA) This article is brought to you by our exclusive subscriber partnership with our sister title USA Today, and has been written by our American colleagues. It does not necessarily reflect the view of The Herald. Gianluigi Donnarumma is open to a move away from Paris St Germain this summer but will not be pushed out by the French club, the PA news agency understands. The Italian goalkeeper has been left out of PSG's squad for Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup match against Tottenham, and it is understood he will now leave Paris this summer if the right move opens up. Manchester United have been linked in some reports with an interest in the 26-year-old, who is out of contract next summer. However, it is understood that up to this point there has been no contact from United to PSG regarding Donnarumma. Lucas Chevalier's arrival at PSG has been followed by Donnarumma being left out of their Super Cup squad (Joe Giddens/PA) The European champions completed the signing of Lucas Chevalier from Lille over the weekend, and Donnarumma has now been left out for the game against Spurs in Udine. Donnarumma was part of the Italy squad which won Euro 2020 by beating England in the final on penalties, and is still regarded as one of the world's top goalkeepers. He made over 200 appearances for AC Milan before joining PSG in 2021. He has won four Ligue 1 titles with the Parisiens and was part of the team which thrashed Inter Milan 5-0 to win last season's Champions League title.
