Kristen Wiig Joins Jonah Hill's Warner Bros Comedy CUT OFF, Sets Summer 2026 Release — GeekTyrant

Kristen Wiig is teaming up with Jonah Hill for his upcoming Warner Bros. comedy Cut Off , a project Hill is directing and co-writing. The film, which also has Ezra Woods attached as co-writer, will hit theaters worldwide on July 17, 2026, going head-to-head with Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey .
The story follows two wealthy siblings who suddenly find themselves cut off from their parents, a plot device that isn't new, but I'm sure that it'll deliver some fun laughs.
Production is moving fast, with filming set to begin this fall. Backed by a $10 million California tax credit, the movie is expected to have a $49 million budget. Hill's production company, Strong Baby, is producing through Matt Dines and Ali Goodwin, with Hill also serving as a producer.
Wiig is currently starring in and executive producing season two of Palm Royale on Apple TV+, returning this fall after earning an Emmy nomination for her performance in season one.
She's also set to play the villain in Universal's family film Gabby's Dollhouse: The Movie , opening September 26. Wiig's film résumé includes the smash hit Bridesmaids , which earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay in 2012.
Hill, meanwhile, is coming off directing, producing, and co-writing Apple's Outcome , starring Keanu Reeves, Cameron Diaz, and Matt Bomer, set for spring 2026. Strong Baby recently produced the Amazon/A24 series Overcompensating and HBO's acclaimed docuseries The Mortician . Hill's past directing credits include Netflix's Stutz and his debut feature Mid90s for A24.
With Cut Off , Wiig and Hill are bringing together sharp comedic instincts, a strong creative team, this could be a big fun comedy.
