‘Gone Girl' star Rosamund Pike reveals she was punched in the face during ‘horrible' mugging incident

New York Post25-05-2025
Rosamund Pike experienced a traumatic robbery nearly ten years ago.
The 'Gone Girl' star, 46, recently appeared on U.K.'s 'Magic Radio' and revealed that she was mugged in London in 2006.
'I was on the phone to my mother – on a mobile phone walking along a road – and I was mugged,' Pike recalled. 'The phone was snatched so all she heard was me scream and a thud and the phone went dead.'

'And then I just walked to the pub and called her there when I met my friends,' Pike said of her mother. 'For her, it was probably a pretty horrible 15 minutes.'
The 'Wheel of Time' actress claimed that the mugger was 'some kid on a bicycle' who physically assaulted her as she stole her phone.
'[They] punched me down the side of my cheek and snatched my phone out of my hand,' Pike said, adding that she was 'angry' in the moment.

Pike appeared on 'Magic Radio' with Matthew Rhys to promote their new thriller film 'Hallow Road,' in which they play parents who get a distressed phone call from their college-age daughter and have to help her.
Director Babak Anvari told Collider in an interview last week that the film explores a parents' 'worst nightmare.'

Rhys, 50, also spoke to the outlet about working with Pike on the intense project.
'It was probably the improvisational work we did at the beginning. We did some improvisational rehearsals. It wasn't really a shock; I don't think you said 'action,' but you said you can kind of begin whenever you want, and it's like a switch with Rosamund, the intensity, the 'now it's game time' switch,' he explained.
'It's kind of startling. It's so immediate and so deep. I went, 'Oh, it's time to step up.' There's no easing our way into this, and I think that's how she attacks every day and every scene,' said Rhys.

Last year, Pike made headlines when she attended the 2024 Golden Globe Awards in massive headpiece to hide injuries she sustained in a skiing accident.
'I had an accident over Christmas — I had a skiing accident and I had to think, you know, not what you want when you're coming to the Golden Globes on the seventh of January,' the 'Saltburn' actress told Variety on the red carpet.
'So on the 26th of December, my face was entirely smashed up,' she continued. 'And I thought I need to protect I need to do something.'

What started out as a small venture has grown into 175,000 YouTube subscribers for a content creator in Colorado. He's teaching kids new words and different languages. Boulder native Basho Mosko has been making fun educational music for kids for over a decade. "I was teaching a mommy and me kind of Spanish course, and they didn't have good materials," Mosko said. "And I was like, 'I can help you make materials.' So I started writing songs that taught languages and put them on YouTube." In the YouTube world, he's known as Basho and Friends. Mosko is completely self-taught and does most of his work right here in Colorado. "I'll do a lot of the scratch tracks here. I'll lay stuff out. I'll punch some stuff out and sort of set a framework for it. And then my producer lives in Brass Valley, California," Mosko explained. Mosko's content has garnered more than 100 million views across platforms, and, while his songs are pretty catchy, Basho and Friends remains a passion project. "This isn't my full-time job," Mosko said. "I have a job at Google doing a broadcast production." Making a difference in a kids' lives, including his own, is what keeps Mosko going. "I had a couple of parents actually emailed me saying that their kids were non-verbal, or they were working with disabilities, and singing my songs was one of the first ways that they started producing language," Mosko shared. Now, the popular YouTuber for kids is dropping a new album with new meaning. It's called "A Way to Be," and it was released Friday on Spotify, YouTube and other platforms where music lives. "With this album, it was going to be another one of those 20 things you need to learn before kids start kindergarten," Mosko said. "But it kind of evolved into something more personal about 20 things that make you a good person. You know that kids around the world universally can learn about and perfect in order to be positive contributors to the world."

Tristan Rogers, who played super spy Robert Scorpio on 'General Hospital,' has died at 79

Tristan Rogers, who played legacy character Robert Scorpio on ABC's 'General Hospital,' died Friday, less than one month after he made a special appearance on the soap opera. He was 79. 'The entire 'General Hospital' family is heartbroken to hear of Tristan Rogers' passing,' said Frank Valentini, the show's executive producer, in a statement. 'Tristan has captivated our fans for 45 years and Port Charles will not be the same without him (or Robert Scorpio).' Born in Melbourne, Australia, Rogers' first foray into performing was in his early twenties and playing drums in a rock band with a group of friends. They weren't successful so Rogers turned to commercial work and modeling to earn some money. When the band dissolved, Rogers decided to give acting a try. After various roles in Australia, he also worked as a DJ and eventually moved to Los Angeles to try to break into Hollywood. He said casting directors were initially turned off by his accent but he eventually landed a two-day role on 'General Hospital' in 1980. 'I had no idea at the point how big the show was,' Rogers told fellow 'General Hospital' actor Maurice Benard on the YouTube show, 'State of Mind with Maurice Benard' in 2022. 'I had no name. I was brought in expressly to beat up the hero, Luke, (played by Anthony Geary), and then disappear,' Rogers said. His first day was half-over when then-executive producer Gloria Monty asked if he would like to stay on. They had no character written for him so for three weeks Monty asked him to just appear in scenes 'looking furtive, looking suspicious' until they came up with a storyline. It was decided he would play a spy known as 'CK8' and eventually he was given the name Robert Scorpio. The character would remain a fixture in Port Charles for the rest of Rogers' life, even when he wasn't a current cast member. Scorpio's on again/off again romance with Emma Samms' character, Holly Sutton, remained a favorite among fans. Scorpio also had a romance, and many storylines with another spy, Anna Devane, played by Finola Hughes. Scorpio and Devane shared a daughter, Robin, played by Kimberly McCullough. Samms returned to the show for a stint last fall where it was revealed that Scorpio was the father of her adult daughter, Sasha Gilmore (played by Sofia Mattson.) Rogers and Samms left the show together in November 2024 in scenes taped with a nod to 'Casablanca.' He returned to the show in July for one episode when Sasha arrived to his home in France with her new baby. It was then revealed that Rogers had lung cancer Rogers' other acting credits include 'The Bold and the Beautiful,' 'The Young & the Restless' and 'Studio City,' which won him outstanding supporting actor in a digital drama series at the Daytime Emmy Awards. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Parkerson, and a daughter and a son.

Taylor Swift's podcast debut was a smash hit. The music superstar's appearance on "New Heights" alongside boyfriend and Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce and brother Jason Kelce set records for viewership. Wednesday's podcast set a record on YouTube for concurrent viewers - the number of individual people watching a live stream at the same time - with a peak of 1.3 million. As of Friday evening, the episode has surpassed 15 million views. The live stream crashed nearly two hours in with more than 1 million people watching as she answered more questions about her 12th album "The Life of a Showgirl." She revealed the album art on the podcast and went into detail with the Kelce brothers about what went into the album as well as featured guest artists. DATE NIGHTS: Travis Kelce finally posts Taylor Swift photos on Instagram Per Front Office Sports, people are catching parts of the episode on other platforms, too. Clips from the show have totaled more than 61 million views on X, 34.5 million on TikTok and 379 million on Instagram. The "New Heights" YouTube channel has also seen more than 400,000 new subscribers since the episode went live. The show's Instagram page surpassed 3 million followers as well. Swift's appearance with the Kelce brothers on "New Heights," was initially teased on Monday, Aug. 11, with a promo announcing Swift's new album. The "New Heights" podcast moved up to No. 1 on the Apple podcast charts before the episode became available. Swift, in a subsequent clip released in the lead-up to the episode's debut, also poked fun at "male sports fans" for showing up on the Kelces' podcast given the reception she has received at times for her appearances at Chiefs games. "I think we all know that if there's one thing that male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens, it's more of me," Swift joked. Swift and Travis Kelce have been dating for the past two years and the couple remain a pop culture fascination ahead of the 2025 NFL season. Kelce's celebrity and the podcast he co-hosts with his brother has, in turn, skyrocketed in popularity. "New Heights" is reportedly worth $100 million after being licensed by Wonderly last year. Kelce admitted in a recent GQ cover story that his forays into Hollywood and entertainment might have played a role in why his production "slipped" the past two seasons. He had a cameo role in "Happy Gilmore 2" and one season as host of Amazon Prime Video's game show, "Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?" Swift, Kelce said, is more aligned with his goal of a bounce back year and another Super Bowl title with the Chiefs. Jason Kelce even introduced Swift to the "New Heights" audience as having won one Super Bowl alongside his younger brother. "I sort of made her a football fan," Travis Kelce told GQ. "She is the most engulfed fan now. She knows what the injury reports look like. She understands what special situations are, third and short – all these things because she just naturally loves to hear about my job."
