Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas celebrate daughter's graduation after she finishes film degree
Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas are celebrating their daughter's graduation after she completed a film degree.
The 80-year-old actor and Catherine, 55, have been married since November 2000 and as well as their girl Carys they have son, Dylan, 24, who also attended Brown University – graduating in 2022, just like his sister.
Michael – who is also father to 46-year-old son Cameron, from his previous marriage to Diandra Luker, which lasted 18 years before ending in 2000 – marked Carys' milestone by posing for a photo that saw him and Catherine kissing Carys, 22, on each cheek as she stood in the middle of them beaming.
Catherine posted the snap on her Instagram and captioned it: 'We are both such proud parents right now!! It's only just begun!!' The image was taken the night before Carys' graduation ceremony, with her wearing a white full-length dress, while Michael opted for a navy suit and Catherine was in a black two-piece suit.
Carys received her degree in Film and International Relations from the Ivy League university, located in Providence, Rhode Island.
Catherine, who starred in 'The Mask of Zorro', also posted more details from the celebrations on her Instagram stories, including a cake decorated with the message 'Congratulations Graduation Class of 25' and group photos of Carys and her fellow graduates on the steps of the university.
Other images showed emotional embraces and joyful moments shared among the graduating class.
In a 2010 interview with AARP The Magazine, Michael reflected on how fatherhood later in life had changed his perspective.
He said: 'My career was the most important thing in my life, followed by marriage and children. And it's completely reversed now. I never anticipated starting a family and the joy of raising kids at my age.'
Speaking to The Telegraph in 2024, Michael also recounted an incident where he was mistaken for Carys' grandfather during a visit to the university.
He said: 'This is not grandfather's day, this is parents' day. I say, 'I am a parent. That was a rough one.'
Michael also described how life had shifted as he and his wife entered a new phase of parenting.
He added: 'Catherine and I have been together it'll be 25 years this year. So it's been a good ride and I've been very fortunate, happy with the choices that I've made and now am kind of really backing off and smelling the roses a little more, traveling more.'
The actor also called Carys and Dylan 'extraordinary beings' and said they have been 'a joy' to raise.

Influencer slammed for ‘cruel' activity while in Egypt
Tammy Hembrow's holiday to Egypt has been slammed on social media after she took photos in revealing outfits at tourist attractions in the conservative country and allegedly rode an abused camel. The 31-year-old influencer experienced the trip hosted by Aweventurer last week and was spotted riding on the back of a camel in several photos and videos posted by other travelling content creators on the tour. However, she hid the snaps from her own page, posting only a photo of two camels from the ride with a pyramid in the background. The series of photos have angered animal activists who have called for the Saski activewear founder to speak out about the backlash. Bailey Mason, who runs Instagram account Warrior For Animals, commented on the photos, highlighting the abuse inflicted on the camels in Egypt's tourism industry. 'I am an animal rights campaigner and am deeply disappointed @tammyhembrow rode abused camels,' Mr Mason wrote in a post shared to his Instagram. 'I am glad the post has been removed but more needs to be done against exploitation in tourism.' Hembrow was spotted riding on the back of a camel in several photos and videos posted by other travelling content creators. Credit: Supplied The animal rights campaigner also commented on one of Hembrow's Egypt posts, saying: 'I'm politely asking if you can do your bit to end the exploitation of animals in tourism. 'I've been supporting you for a long time even praising you for advocating for eating more plant based foods in 2020 to help the environment and of (course) animal welfare.' Hembrow's followers also took to the comments section of the mother-of-three's posts, sharing messages of disappointment. 'How about don't torture animals and don't ride a camel?!! Can't believe it's even on the program,' one follower said. Another person said: Do you have any idea how they are being treated and how exhausted they are from all the moronic tourists exploiting them for no f***ing reason.' 'Please leave animals and carriage rides out of your plans. Very cruel would never visit a country with such lack for empathy or regulations on animal welfare,' a third added. The negative commentary resulted in the travel company removing the camel rides from the tour itinerary. If you'd like to view this content, please adjust your . To find out more about how we use cookies, please see our Cookie Guide. 'Update: we have taken on feedback and removed the camel riding from the itinerary,' Aweventurer staff wrote in the comments. According to an article by PETA Australia updated in April, camels continue to suffer from injury and skin disease because they're denied sufficient veterinary treatment. In 2019, PETA Asia investigations at the Great Pyramid of Giza and Luxor's royal tombs documented abuse of horses and camels who pull tourists in carriages or serve as photo props in severe conditions without appropriate shade or food. It seems Hembrow's trip has been marred with controversy after people also took aim at her revealing outfit choices while checking out tourist hot spots. Many of her posts from the getaway show the social media sensation exposing her tattooed arms and midriff while wearing a headscarf. 'Pretty sure this is cultural appropriation cause you're not wearing that scarf to cover your body,' one person said. Another added: 'A holiday to Egypt, while half naked, is possibly one the most time [sic] deaf things I've ever seen.' 'Your choice of clothing is actually quite offensive to the locals Your travel advisor should have told you about local etiquette,' a third added. While there is no legal dress code in Egypt, it is considered respectful for tourists to follow the cultural norm of modest attire.

New celebrity couple share intimate bed photo
UK reality star Chris Hughes has posted a bedtime photo with his new flame, JoJo Siwa, just over a week after the pair made their viral relationship public. The 32-year-old, famous for appearing on Season 3 of Love Island, shared the selfie on Snapchat with the caption 'Sleeepinnn beauty'. In it, Hughes can be seen kissing the pop star on the forehead as they cuddled in bed. The unlikely couple made their relationship official on Instagram in late May during the week of Siwa's 22nd birthday. 'This year's birthday week was more magical than anything,' the former Dance Moms star wrote. 'Absolutely beautiful, wouldn't change a single thing. 'A week I'll remember for the rest of my life.' Chris Hughes posted the photo on Snapchat with the caption 'Sleeepinnn beauty'. Credit: Snapchat The couple's relationship status has been the subject of widespread media coverage since they met in the Celebrity Big Brother house in April. Siwa entered the house with a partner, Australian performer Kath Ebbs (who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns), with the pair having been dating for several months. She and Hughes formed a close relationship inside the house, which quickly went from friendly to flirty in front of millions of people watching in real-time and following along on TikTok. The pair were seen massaging one another, cuddling and lying in bed together. If you'd like to view this content, please adjust your . Hughes consoled Siwa who became upset after receiving a letter from Ebbs saying they were 'keen' to see the pop star when she got out of the house. 'I do have beef to pick with them ... they didn't even say in the note that they love me. I will not let them live that down,' Siwa told Big Brother in the diary room. 'I will say 'where was my hi sweetheart, where was my I love you, where was my I miss you'. 'Like happy or keen to see you when I get out of here, keen to see you as well but come on bubba, give me a little something.' Since becoming official, the pair have shared many happy pictures of them together. Credit: Instagram Speaking to Hughes later, Siwa said through tears that she was 'very confused' and felt 'guilty for how happy I've been'. After the Celebrity Big Brother finale, Ebbs revealed she had flown to England to support Siwa but was instead met with news they were breaking up. 'I was told that there are confused feelings there,' Ebbs said in a now deleted TikTok video. 'I feel incredibly humiliated; I feel a bit embarrassed.' Siwa has publicly debuted several partners since coming out as a lesbian in 2021. During her time in the Celebrity Big Brother house, Siwa revealed that she identified as queer. 'I've met a lot of females. Love them, don't feel like them. 'Met a lot of males — love them, definitely not them. 'Met a lot of people in my life that are non-binary, and these beautiful non-binary people are who I feel the most like and … I don't know, it's not something I want to say about myself yet, but it's something that is confusing.'
