Moment tattooed thug arrested at work after battering mum to death in her bed

Kiesha Donaghy was battered to death with what is thought to be a claw hammer in her home in Elgin. The moment a tattooed thug is arrested for the slaughtering of a mum in her own bed has been captured. ‌ Kiesha Donaghy, 32, was discovered battered to death with what is thought to be a claw hammer in her home on Anderson Drive in Elgin at 7.20pm on November 16, 2023. ‌ A new BBC documentary series, Murder Case: Who Killed Kiesha, has revealed detectives looking for her killer snaring her friend Own Grant at his Elgin-based workplace. ‌ Grant, 43, is caught saying: 'You've got to do what you've got to do but I've not done nothing.' Before he is taken away in handcuffs, he adds: 'What about my job?' ‌ The revealing programme has disclosed that investigators initially suspected the mother-of-two had been murdered by drug dealers as loved-ones told of how she was being chased for a drug debt worth around £20,000. A Scouse enforcer labelled Joe Bloggs warned Kiesha that his 'Two Amigos' would be visiting her and "They will not meet you anywhere else. It will be in your house and you will be alone', revealed in messages on the show. Kiesha's aunt Rachel said: 'When we found she had been murdered I thought to myself this is Joe Bloggs, this is his amigos.' ‌ However, the show noted that Grant carried out the killing to steal the £770 that she had stashed in a wardrobe - gathered to pay Joe Bloggs. CCTV showed Grant, who claimed he was in bed, on the night in which Keisha died and not the Two Amigos. ‌ More footage showed him flaunting a large amount of money during the time he was struggling to pay his rent. Although a murder weapon was never recovered, CCTV showed Grant dumping something in a bin outside a shop. Police arrested Grant at his work after a bloody handprint in Kiesha's home was identified as his. ‌ Detective Inspector William Grant said: 'He would have known that he was starting to become of significant interest to the police. "This is a man that's committed a violent murder in a relatively low crime area of Scotland, We can't allow him to be walking the streets." ‌ Grant was convicted in May and jailed for 24 years. Kiesha's aunt Rachel said: 'I wish he had never been in Elgin and I wish he had never met Kiesha. ‌ 'I can't believe he killed her for the money, It's a disgusting thing to do. "If he asked her for money she would have given it to him. It was just that he knew she had that money and he wanted it to feed his habit. 'He's in jail now but we've got to carry on. It's never going to be the same without her." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. Urgent warning over 'Labubu dolls' with dark hidden detail that can kill

As the Labubu craze continues, Trading Standards has issued a stark warning over dangerous counterfeits which have been seized in some parts of the country, urging shoppers not to be tempted by the 'bargain' fake To the bemusement of many, trend-conscious sorts have this year become obsessed with Labubu dolls - cheeky-looking, sharp-toothed plushies which can be fastened to upmarket designer handbags with ease. ‌ The quirky bag charms have been flying off the shelves this summer, with this writer having witnessed queues around the corner at the Manchester Popmart store. It's perhaps therefore unsurprising that consumers have looked elsewhere, opting for so-called 'Lafufus' instead of the real deal. ‌ However, those looking to get their hands on these coveted 'It girl' accessories at a snip of the price have been issued a serious warning by Trading Standards, with some counterfeit items posing a worrying health risk to children. ‌ North East Lincolnshire Council's Trading Standards officers have now urged parents and businesses alike to keep a careful eye out for potentially dangerous imitation toys spotted on the shelves of local shops. ‌ It's understood that these risky counterfeits contain loose parts that could well pose a choking hazard to young children. These products also don't bear the legally required safety labelling, such as the CE or UKCA mark, or the name and address of a UK-based supplier. A number of seized products were also found to have poor quality visible stitching, with hands or feet breaking away easily. Councillor Ron Shepherd, Portfolio Holder for Safer and Stronger Communities at North East Lincolnshire Council, has issued the following statement: 'We are issuing this urgent warning to consumers, to remain vigilant when purchasing these highly sought-after collectables and to report any concerns about the safety of toys they have bought or seen on sale to us. ‌ 'These copycat toys have been flooding the UK market and have found their way to North East Lincolnshire too. As they are often cheaper, they might seem like a bargain compared to the genuine versions; however, they can be dangerous if they have not been manufactured in accordance with stringent toy safety legislation. 'Our Trading Standards officers are constantly on the lookout for products which contravene safety legislation, and they will continue their diligent work to ensure counterfeit and unsafe products are removed from the North East Lincolnshire marketplace.' This comes as business insurance comparison site Bionic issues a helpful guide to advise whether you're looking at a real deal Labubu, or a fake 'Lafufu'. ‌ As previously reported by the Mirror, there are four telling factors to bear in mind: Packaging quality - Genuine Labubus arrive in high-quality packaging with sharp printing, embossed logos, and secure seals. If the box is flimsy, or poorly printed, this is a huge red flag. Finish and detail - Real Labubu figures have clean, precise detailing and consistent paintwork, while counterfeits will often have sloppy paint, uneven edges, or inaccurate proportions. Branding and stamps - Look out for the official Pop Mart and Kasing Lung markings. This includes serial numbers or authenticity stamps, which are usually located on the base or packaging. Pricing - Make sure to check out the price. If a listing is notably cheaper than market value, then you're likely not looking at an authentic product.

Three men to stand trial for knife and hammer murder after 23 years

Three suspects are to stand trial charged with the murder of a man in Glasgow more than 20 years ago. Malcolm Kelt, 52, Alan Colvan, 42, and Marc Harris, 39, are accused of killing Darren Birt after previously displaying 'malice and ill-will' towards him. The three were charged nearly 23 years after Birt was found lying in a street in the city's Barlanark area with serious injuries in the small hours of August 28, 2002. He died in hospital shortly afterwards. Brian Birt has waited 23 years to see his son's suspected killers stand trial LES GALLAGHER/THE SUN GLASGOW Prosecutors claim Kelt, Colvan and Harris had shouted at and threatened the 22-year-old, chased him and hit him with a bottle. The murder charge says Birt was then repeatedly attacked on the head and body with a knife or knives, struck with a hammer or similar weapon and punched and kicked. Kelt, Colvan and Harris face a separate allegation of attempting to pervert the course of justice. This includes an accusation that they got rid of weapons used in the killing. It is also claimed the trio changed their clothes and told a named man to wash the items. The indictment claims this was all done in a bid to avoid 'detection, arrest and prosecution' for the alleged killing. The charge lists a number of different addresses in Barlanark. Brian Birt's book tells the harrowing story of his continuing fight for justice ALAN MACGREGOR EWING/THE SUN GLASGOW The case called for a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow on Monday. Defence KCs Murray Macara, Donald Findlay and Tony Graham pleaded not guilty on behalf of each of the suspects. The lawyers, along with the prosecutor Alex Prentice KC, agreed a trial could set. A continued preliminary hearing will take place in October at the High Court in Edinburgh after several legal issues were raised. Findlay said: 'In cold cases, there will be particular issues that arise which are particular to this type of case. I have been in constant discussions as there are various matters. The advocate depute knows what I need to resolve and knows what I need from him.' Calvay Place, Barlanark, where Birt was found in 2022 GOOGLE MAPS A possible special defence may also be lodged by Findlay in due course. He said: 'This is causing a little difficulty due to a trial from all these years.' Prentice stated that the Crown will mostly rely on CCTV and witness accounts. Lord Mulholland went on to fix a trial and it is scheduled to begin in October next year at the High Court in Glasgow. The case could last 16 days. Police Scotland had renewed their appeal for information into Birt's death in October 2022. A senior detective also appeared on BBC's Crimewatch morning show. Crimestoppers further offered a £20,000 reward to anyone who contacted them with information.
