Peter Andre has shared his thoughts on Alison Hammond's remarkable 13-stone weight loss journey, having previously opened up about his own experience with weight loss injections.
Alison, who once weighed in at a hefty 28 stone, has been shedding the pounds through sheer determination after a pre-diabetic diagnosis and the loss of her mother Maria to type 2 diabetes in 2020 prompted her to turn her life around.
Writing in his column, Peter commented: "Alison Hammond is looking amazing and she's spoken about not using weight-loss jabs. She obviously feels fantastic and I don't think it's anyone else's business when it comes to the injections – we shouldn't force people into discussing it."
He continued, "I don't know why we think everyone must say what they did or didn't do. Alison is a good friend who has put the work in and done it the hard way, which is impressive. But I'd never judge anyone for taking the injections – it's none of my business."
In 2019, Peter caused quite the stir among his Instagram followers after posting a video that led to comments about him looking 'wasted away. ' Concerned fans speculated, with one remarking, "He is getting thinner in the face worrying signs that there could be something wrong with the body?".
However, Peter was quick to respond and clarify the situation, reassuring everyone about his health. He simply stated, "I run," and assured his fans, "Feeling better than ever.", reports the Mirror.
Alison took control of her health by working with a personal trainer and becoming more mindful of her diet. In an interview with Heat Magazine, Alison revealed: "I feel amazing. I feel happy within myself. I've got a personal trainer - she's amazing. She trains me when I can train. If I'm working, I don't train, I'll go for a walk."
She has also shared that her home fitness routine includes weights, pilates, and yoga, adding that she prefer a balanced approach, with the 47 year old stating: "I don't deny myself anything. I eat everything but in moderation."
Reflecting on her mother's concerns about her health and her own encounter with pre-diabetes, Alison discussed her transformation in an interview with Women's Health magazine. She spoke about shifting away from high-fat, high-sugar foods, recalling: "My mum had type 2 diabetes and she was worried for me, so when I then found out that I was pre-diabetic, that was frightening. I thought: 'I have to be an adult about this'. The sweets had to stop – and the fatty foods."
After making those changes, Alison successfully reversed her pre-diabetic condition, confiding: "I'm no longer pre-diabetic, so I'm a bit naughtier with my food now. But because my body's working properly, I can allow myself a bit of sugar here and there.
"I love my new figure and although I'm still self-conscious about certain areas, like my arms and tummy, it's fantastic to be able to wear things I could never have worn before. I mean, look at me, I'm a bombshell."
Alison confessed that she was put off the idea of weight loss medication due to "scare stories". However, she stated she "wouldn't look down on anyone who did".
Away from the limelight, Alison is dating 27 year old masseur David Putman. Rumours have been swirling that her weight loss journey was sparked by a wish to walk down the aisle with her beau.
When quizzed about possible wedding plans, she teased: "I'd never say no. I might marry myself!".
