2025 MLS All-Star roster: Messi, Agyemang, Lozano headline squad
Major League Soccer has revealed its 26-player roster for the 2025 MLS All-Star Game.
The MLS All-Stars will face a team of Liga MX's best on July 23 at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas.
The MLS squad will be looking for some revenge after losing 4-1 to the Liga MX stars in last year's All-Star Game at Lower.com Field in Columbus.
The MLS stars will be led by Lionel Messi, who was named to his first All-Star team last year but couldn't participate in the match due to injury.
The first-place Vancouver Whitecaps feature the most players on the MLS roster with four: Sebastian Berhalter, Tristan Blackmon, Yohei Takaoka, and Brian White. All four are making their All-Star Game debuts.
Columbus Crew forward Diego Rossi has been selected to his fourth All-Star Game, the most of any player on the roster. LAFC forward Denis Bouanga, Philadelphia Union defender Jakob Glesnes, and FC Cincinnati defender Miles Robinson are next with three selections each.
The players on the MLS roster were selected in three ways: 12 players were voted in by MLS fans, players, and media; 12 players were selected by MLS All-Star head coach Nico Estévez of host club Austin FC; and two players (Patrick Agyemang and Hirving Lozano) were picked by MLS commissioner Don Garber.

It could end up being one of his own players. Max Fried became the first pitcher to reach 10 wins this season in the New York Yankees 7-1 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday night. Advertisement 'It's down the road. We'll see. He's making the case though,' Boone said about Fried's chances to start the midsummer classic on July 15 in Atlanta. The left-hander allowed one unearned run and four hits while striking out seven to improve to 10-2. Fried is the third Yankees pitcher since 1962 to be the first in the majors to reach double-digit victories, joining CC Sabathia in 2011 and Tommy John in 1979. 'I guess it's cool but we're all here just trying to win games. A lot of it is credit to my teammates. It's nice, but that's more of a team stat than an individual one,' said Fried about reaching double digits in wins. Advertisement Fried signed a $218 million, eight-year contract with the Yankees last December and has excelled in his first year in pinstripes. He quickly became the staff's ace after Gerrit Cole was lost for the season during spring training due to Tommy John surgery on his right elbow. Fried has four games this season where he has gone at least seven innings and not allowed an earned run, tied with Detroit's Tarik Skubal and San Diego's Nick Pivetta for most in the majors. He's second in the majors with a 1.92 ERA and 108 innings. 'Ever since (Cole) went down he's shown us why they paid him what they paid him and why he's the guy we thought he was going to be. Especially someone who I played against for four or five years, to play behind him now is amazing," third baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. said. "I always give him his prop and his flowers, but now he can take them any time he wants.' Advertisement The 1.92 ERA is the third-lowest by a Yankees' pitcher is his first 17 starts with the club since earned runs became an official stat in both leagues in 1913. Fried has allowed two or fewer earned runs in all but two starts. He has been even more dominant after Yankees' losses, going 8-1 with a 0.93 ERA in 10 starts. 'I mean 10 wins in half a season, it's not easy to do in any era, especially now. But that's just a testament to how good and efficient he's been,' Boone said. Monterrey advances to knockout rounds at the Club World Cup with 4-0 victory over Urawa
PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — Monterrey scored three goals in a 10-minute span of the first half and went on to defeat the Urawa Red Diamonds 4-0 on Wednesday night and advance to the knockout rounds in the Club World Cup. Monterrey finished second in Group E behind Inter Milan, which defeated River Plate 2-0 in a simultaneous game in Seattle. Monterry plays Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday at Atlanta in the round of 16. The match drew just 14,312 to the 89,702-capacity Rose Bowl. Nelson Deossa ripped the ball from 35 yards out that Urawa goalkeeper Shusaku Nishikawa got a hand on but couldn't stop in the 30th minute to put Monterrey up 1-0. After a cooling break, Germán Berterame tucked the ball into the bottom right corner of the net to make it 2-0. Jesús Corona added another goal from distance that lofted up and dropped into the goal in the 39th. Berterame added a second goal in stoppage time. The Red Diamonds had been eliminated after losses to River Plate and Inter Milan. Liga MX's Monterrey was scrappy from the start. In Northwest Division, NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder get deeper, Jazz get busy
After building an NBA championship team with a commitment to young player development, the Oklahoma City Thunder dived back into the draft pool a few days after the celebration. The Thunder used the 15th overall pick in the first round on Wednesday night on Thomas Sorber, a 6-foot-9 versatile defender with the potential to be an effective low-post scorer who played one season in college at Georgetown. Sorber can provide some bulk and depth behind the slender Chet Holmgren and his frontcourt partner, Isaiah Hartenstein. Oklahoma City also had the 24th pick, sending it to Sacramento in a proposed trade. General manager Sam Presti's trades in recent years have allowed the Thunder to stockpile picks for maximum control over the most unpredictable aspect of professional sports. They have as many as 10 first-round picks, including their own, over the next five years, including three in 2026. Last year's first-rounder, point guard Nikola Topic, is nearly recovered from a torn ACL in his left knee that kept him out for his entire rookie season. The Utah Jazz, who bottomed out this season with the worst record in the league, have a long way to go with their rebuild.
