'One of the greatest war films of all time' now on Amazon Prime
'Fury' recently left Netflix after spending a number of years on the streaming platform
'Fury', known for its raw portrayal of the mechanised savagery of combat and its stellar cast, has recently left the Netflix roster but remains accessible on Amazon Prime Video.
The movie plunges audiences into the tension-filled world of tank warfare in World War II, following an experienced US tank crew as they maneuver through the devastating terrain of Nazi Germany in 1945's dying days.
The film is directed by the notable David Ayer and features Brad Pitt in a commanding role as Staff Sergeant Don "Wardaddy" Collier, with strong support from Logan Lerman, Shia LaBeouf, Michael Peña, and Jon Bernthal.
Under Wardaddy's tough command, his squad endures not only physical dangers but also the immense psychological toll of warfare.
'Fury' delves deep into the close-knit relationships forged on the front lines, depicting both the brutal reality of conflict and the resilience of the human spirit amidst chaos, reports the Express.
A significant element of the film's realism stems from the 'Fury' itself, an M4 Sherman tank, and the on-screen use of an actual, operational Tiger 1 tank.
The authenticity extends to the actors' experiences, having undergone an intensive boot camp conducted by Navy SEALs, which aimed to replicate the challenges of being encased within a tank. In reflecting on the harsh preparation, Brad Pitt described the intensity, saying: "Set up to break us down, to keep us cold, to keep us exhausted, to make us miserable, to keep us wet, make us eat cold food".
"And if our stuff wasn't together we had to pay for it with physical forfeits. We're up at five in the morning, we're doing night watches on the hour".
Director Ayer was known for pushing his cast to their limits, even encouraging physical altercations to build tension. This approach resulted in actors sporting black eyes and bloody noses.
"I am ruthless as a director", he said. "I will do whatever I think is necessary to get what I want".
Despite not being a major contender during awards season, Fury received acclaim for its performances and authenticity upon release. It's now regarded by some as one of the most realistic modern portrayals of tank warfare on screen.
"The battles are chaotic and terrifying, and the film doesn't shy away from showing how brutal war is. The tank scenes are some of the most intense I've ever seen in a movie-you feel the claustrophobia inside the tank and the constant danger outside. It's loud, dirty, and unrelenting, which makes it all feel so real", one review on Rotten Tomatoes reads.

Amazon Prime fans ‘livid' as show with ‘so much potential' cancelled
The new dramedy has been axed by Amazon Prime Video after just one season, despite the fact the series was initially commissioned for two Prime Video subscribers are livid as a gripping new drama series has been axed after just one season. The dance dramedy Étoile, crafted by Gilmore Girls and The Marvelous Mrs Maisel writers Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, sadly won't be making a comeback for a second series. This is despite the fact that the streamer originally commissioned the series for two seasons, leaving fans of the show particularly miffed. Set in both New York and Paris, the series features Luke Kirby as Jack McMillan and Charlotte Gainsbourg as Geneviève Lavigne, two artistic directors of prestigious ballet schools who decide to exchange their most gifted stars to rescue their companies. French principal ballerina Cheyenne Toussaint (portrayed by Lou de Laâge) heads to New York to be trained by Jack, while American choreographer Tobias Bell (Gideon Glick) joins Geneviève in Paris, reports the Mirror US. All eight episodes were launched in late April and were eagerly awaited by fans following the success of the Palladinos' previous hit comedy-dramas. Despite not being quite the runaway success Prime Video was evidently hoping for, Étoile garnered a passionate cult following who have taken to social media to lament the disappointing decision. Outrage erupted on X (formerly Twitter), as one fan vented: "you have to allow audience word of mouth to spread give it another chance Etoile is amazing and so is Amy Sherman Palladino you have to give shows time like we did in the 2000s cause people keep going back to them cause there timeless and well spaced." Another viewer expressed their dismay: "what's the point of creating art to cancel it for some reasons? I mean, etoile was good as hell, it was brilliant I don't understand what happened." An additional fan expressed their anger: "the way étoile was gaining more and more traction EVERY DAY (mostly through word of mouth) and amazon decided to cancel it less than two months after it premiered. i'm livid." Frustrated demands were aimed at @PrimeVideo: "@PrimeVideo how dare you cancel étoile after it ALREADY HAVING A SEASON TWO???? what is wrong with you," voiced a fourth supporter. The dismay over the scrapping of potential extended onto Reddit forums, where numerous individuals aired their grievances. One said with regret: "Gosh the show really found its groove in the later half of the season, I think season 2 had a lot of potential. Sad that we'll never see it." A disappointed viewer added: "I took a chance because this was a ASP show but this is the last time I'm watching a show that hasn't already released several seasons. "The way they're just canceling shows now is some bulls***. The cast should be very proud of themselves." "I physically felt like I was gonna throw up at that point. I know a lot of people were shaking and crying." Anderson was also charged with arson and hiding a corpse in connection with Sade's death. He was found guilty on all counts. Cops said it's believed Anderson spread the 19-year-old's remains across Milwaukee County and burned her car in an attempt to hide key evidence. Surveillance footage showed Sade's car leaving Anderson's apartment in the early hours of April 2. Cops had been called to Warnimont Park after a human leg was horrifically discovered, which was later identified as belonging to Sade. Anderson had planned to kill the student weeks before her death, a "confidential informant" claimed, Fox News reports. Anderson's attorney Tony Cotton argued that the prosecution showed no evidence of his intention to kill Sade. The attorney also raised how Anderson didn't try to hide his identity as he travelled on public transport home and was also in clean clothes despite having allegedly dismembered Sade's body in a muddy location. Jurors reached their verdict in one hour on the ninth day of trial. Milwaukee County Assistant District Attorney Ian Vance-Curzan said: "While we are satisfied with this verdict, our hearts go out to the family of Sade Robinson." And Milwaukee County Sheriff's Det. JoAnn Donner - who had spent months working on the heartbreaking case - said: "My heart goes out to the family and [Sade's] friends and really, the community at large. "It's everyone's come together, and it's really hard to take that step back as a law enforcement officer and not get that really emotionally involved during the case. "I will admit that I did go back to my office after the verdict, and I had a good cry because I finally got to have that emotion. It does affect us too." And Sade's grieving mom Sheena Scarbrough said in a GoFundMe set up for her daughter's memorial service that she was a "loving daughter, a cherished sister, and a dear friend to many".
