The highly anticipated Fremantle BeerFest is officially back, with the craft beer festival announcing its return at the end of this year.
Brewers from all over Western Australia will be on display with more than 12,000 visitors expected to attend at Esplanade Park on November 14-16.
Aussie EDM legends The Presets will headline the music offering, while the weekend will feature heaps of beers and ciders, along with a variety of entertainment and activities ranging from axe throwing to giant beer pong.
Running since 2011, the festival has become a calendar event for avid craft fans, with Fremantle Mayor Hannah Fitzhardinge saying the city was excited for their return.
'As beer lovers will know, Fremantle's widely regarded as the home of Australian craft beer and we're proud to help showcase the industry's latest and greatest in the stunning surrounds of Esplanade Park,' she said.

Festival founder and co-director James Harding said that it was an achievement that deserved to be celebrated.
'Freo BeerFest is the perfect setting to celebrate the game changers,' he said.
'We've stood side-by-side with producers like Little Creatures since 2011, helping showcase the most unique and timeless experiences the industry has to offer.

Why August is the best time of year to visit Rottnest

As August brings rains and the winter comes to a close, quokka joeys are reaching a huge milestone as they emerge from the safety of their mother's pouches. The much-loved marsupials have a defined breeding season which is typically from January to August with most births occurring between February and April. However, an essential part of their development is dependent on six months in the pouch before emerging, so, quokka joeys don't venture out on their own until August or early September. Adorable footage has been shared on Instagram of an emerging joey exploring the island in the winter sunshine, and many were quick to comment on the sweet and inquisitive nature of the young quokka. 'Only thing cuter than a quokka is a baby quokka 💚🥰,' one person commented. 'I have to see this little guys in person just once in my life, cutest things I've ever seen. 🥹,' said another. 'So adorable,' said a third. Rottnest Island's quokkas are endemic to WA and the 'quokka selfie'— where budding quokka fans snap a selfie with the smiley marsupials — has been achieved by world-famous faces, including Chris Hemsworth, Shawn Mendes, and Katy Perry. International superstar Katy Perry has shared some adorable pictures with a quokka on her Australian leg of The Lifetimes Tour. While it's an exciting time to witness the adorable quokka joeys take their first steps, The Rottnest island website advises visitors to: Observe the quokkas from a safe distance Don't touch them Let them forage for their own food instead of feeding them Stick to the paths

South West winery Happs to honour Jake and Callum Robinson with ‘Diesel Rose' fundraiser for foundation

A South West winery has released a limited edition wine in honour of tragically slain Australian surfers Jake and Callum Robinson. The brothers were murdered along with their friend Carter Rhoad while on the trip of a lifetime in Mexico in 2024 which left family and friends completely devastated. Among them was close friend Hannah Campbell, who approached Happs Wines with the wine tribute idea. Jake in particular was a huge fan of the award-winning winery's rosé, and so the name for the limited edition – Diesel Rosé – was struck in the brothers' memory. Diesel comes from Jake's university-era nickname for the Happs rose which he considered 'fuel' for good times, long nights, and unforgettable memories, Ms Campbell recalled. 'Jake didn't just give rosé a new name, he gave it new meaning,' she said. 'He turned it into something joyful, cheeky, unforgettable. 'Now, whenever we see a glass of rosé, we think of him. We smile. We feel him there. That's the kind of impact Jake had on people – it was lasting, and it was big. 'I want his memory to live on forever, and this is one small way we can help make sure of that.' The wine goes on sale next month, with 50 per cent of proceeds going to the charitable foundation established in the brothers' name. Suzanne Pillay, daughter of the storied Quindalup winery's founders Erl and Ros Happ, said the wine was a community tribute. 'This collaboration with the Callum and Jake Robinson Foundation is about more than wine,' she said. 'It's about honouring two incredible lives and carrying their joy forward. 'Jake and Callum lived purposefully,' Ms Pillay said. 'This is our way of bottling that energy.' Happs patriarch Erl said it was unbelievably tragic to have the brothers' 'spirit of adventure' cut short in such dreadful circumstances. The Robinsons' endorsement of the Happs varietal was made all the more meaningful by the charitable work now undertaken in their name, Mr Happ said. The foundation's new Fuel for Good campaign will drive the charity's three key initiatives which include reef and coastal clean-ups, support for diabetic athletes, and helping young people access lacrosse equipment through a dedicated funding stream. Callum's legacy as a lacrosse athlete who also competed despite living with type 1 diabetes was central to the foundation's aims. Diesel Rosé launches next month from the Happs cellar door and will also be available for online orders via

Princess Mary's wild child Princess Isabella wears X-rated shirt to Smukfest music festival

Princess Mary's daughter has shocked royal watchers after being spotted at a music festival sporting an X-rated t-shirt. Princess Isabella, 18, who usually adopts a more demure appearance, was attending one of Denmark's most well known music festivals, Smukfest in Skanderborg, with her brother Crown Prince Christian and a group of friends when she was caught on camera. Princess Isabella is the second child and eldest daughter of King Frederick and his Australian-born wife Princess Mary. Her choice of clothing has come under fire from some quarters, with claims it crosses the line of decency. The black t-shirt was emblazoned with the words 'f***ed him yesterday' with an arrow pointing to the side. The top is thought to be merchandise for Danish hip hop group Suspekt, who the Princess had been watching at the festival. The trio are known for their explicit and sexual language. Jarl Cordua, a Danish political commentator, was among a number of people to register their disgust with royal's choice of attire. ''F****d him yesterday'. The rich are having a party because the second-oldest royal child let loose at a festival yesterday wearing a shirt with the aforementioned text,' he wrote on social media in response to royalist and TV presenter Jim Lyngvild who said her choice of attire was 'brilliant'. 'Not surprisingly, there are people who love that kind of thing. I'm also in favour of the royals letting loose a little. They always have. They should definitely be allowed to. BUT. There are limits.' Cordua continued: 'We'll probably live with that shirt, but I wouldn't recommend making it a habit. Being royal is an obligation. And it's probably time for someone to tell her that.' Lyngvild, who admits he was initially shocked by the t-shirt, said he soon changed his mind and called Princess Isabella's boundary-pushing fashion moment 'the best PR move for the Royal House in many years'. 'I expect a lot from her… I LOVE that our royal youngsters also have personality and courage – and don't follow the neat pleated flow,' he wrote on Facebook. 'The time of the ladies in the hat is over, Princess Isabella is in.'
