'The suspect eventually lost control and crashed into two other cars on the lower deck of the Brent Spence Bridge. The suspect fled the scene of the accident on foot and attempted to carjack one of the vehicles he ran into. The suspect climbed over the side of the bridge and hid in the support beams underneath for several hours. Police were forced to shut down both northbound and southbound traffic on the bridge to safely facilitate the search for the suspect,' said Covington Police Captain Justin Bradbury.
Cincinnati Police assisted in the search for the suspect and several drones were deployed, as well as rescue boats, the police said.
They found the suspect, who eventually surrendered and was taken into custody by Covington Police.
The suspect, 38-year-old Joshua D. Baker, was arrested on two counts of fleeing, one count of wanton, one count of criminal mischief, one count of carjacking, and driving with a suspended license.
Medics transported him to an area hospital before being lodged for detention.
A female passenger was with Baker and was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries.
