"I wasn't aware of being the most capped player for the Under 21s until during the Finals when someone told me.
"At my first European Under 21s Championships, I was the youngest in the squad and at these Finals, I am the oldest.
"It's been great to play for the Under 21s. It's always a source of pride to represent my national team, it means I'm doing my job well.
"I was given the captain's armband in our first game against France and that was a very proud moment for me too.
"But the important thing is we go as far as we can in Slovakia."

Chelsea make £30m transfer bid for former Real Madrid defender

Chelsea have made a 35m euros (£30m) bid for former Real Madrid defender Mario Gila, according to reports in Italy. Gila, 24, spent three years in Real Madrid's reserve team before making his first-team debut for Los Blancos during the 2021-22 campaign. The former Spain U21 star only made one more appearance for Real Madrid, however, before being sold to Lazio in the summer of 2022. Lazio spent £5m to sign Gila from Real Madrid and the centre-back has been a mainstay in the team over the past two seasons. Gila made over 40 appearances last season as Lazio finished seventh in Serie A and reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League. Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri, who previously managed Chelsea, does not want to lose the Spaniard this summer but a number of clubs are interested in a deal. Italian outlet Il Messaggero say Chelsea, Tottenham, Bournemouth and PSG have all expressed interest in signing Gila. They also claim that Chelsea have already made an offer worth £30m, which was quickly rejected by Lazio. Lazio are also believed to have rejected a £35m bid from Bournemouth but will be prepared to sell if they receive an offer in the region of £50m. Gila is yet to represent Spain but was included in the senior squad for their Nations League quarter-final against Netherlands earlier in the year. Enzo Maresca's side finished fourth in the Premier League to qualify for next year's Champions League and won the Conference League. The Blues have already signed £30m striker Liam Delap from Ipswich Town and welcomed Dario Essugo and Mamadou Sarr to Stamford Bridge after sealing their signatures earlier in the year. More Trending Chelsea are keen to sign another forward – either a striker of a winger – as well as more defenders. The west London club were in advanced talks to sign French goalkeeper Mike Maigan from AC Milan but the deal collapsed over the asking price. Chelsea are also open to offers for a number of unwanted players, including Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku. Following a brief opening earlier in the month, the summer transfer window re-opens on Monday and shuts again on September 1. For more stories like this, check our sport page. Now she's making the most of brief downtime before England's defence of their Euro 2022 glory begins in Switzerland on July 5. Kelly, 27, shared shimmering shots of a blissful getaway with her 955,000 Instagram followers. She wrote: "UNO of Summer so far... things are hotting up pre Euros." George replied to Kelly's message by saying "Love you" - also adding a love heart. To which 52-cap star Kelly responded: "Love you girl - 4 amigos." George, 28, who is Jesse Lingard's cousin, failed to make Sarina Wiegman's 23-women squad for next month's Euros. But she did beat Kelly in one sporty, time-honoured holiday event. 10 Chloe Kelly jets off on sun-kissed holiday as Arsenal star takes well-deserved break before Euro 2025 with Lionesses, Credit: Instagram One fan snuck into the pair's online love-in by asking: "Need to know who won mini golf." Kelly answered that George had "fluked it". Chloe Kelly stuns Arsenal fans as she heads straight to local PUB after Champions League trophy parade But the Red Devils' centre-back offered a different interpretation of the event as she posted: "Precision I call it" - followed by a laughing emoji. The footballing friends had earlier shared clips of their dancing, having booked a sea-view villa with a swimming pool. And Kelly will hope mini-golf defeat is the only blot on her golden summer. She shone for the Gunners after joining on loan from Manchester City in January. Kelly is now in talks over a permanent switch to Arsenal after being released by City at the end of her contract - and chasing second-successive Euros joy under Wiegman. Her online fans gratefully took in the 10 summery pics she posted on Instagram - some in a bikini, many with husband Scott Moore and all with a beaming smile. One admirer wrote: "There's def something about Chloe" and another described her as "angelic". A third called her "as beautiful as a goddess perfectly made by nature and an extraordinary soccer player". The Lionesses beat Portugal 6-0 then lost 2-1 to Spain in Nations League games a fortnight ago. Next comes a single warm-up game against Jamaica at the King Power Stadium on June 29 before the Euros opener with France six days later. That's followed by England's last two group games as they face the Netherlands on July 9 and Wales four days later. 10 Kelly and George were splash hits after showing off their dance moves Credit: TikTok 10 Kelly is a massive hit on Instagram and a fashion icon Credit: Getty 10 She hailed victory over Barcelona in the Lisbon showpiece last month Credit: Getty

Ronaldo's Father's Day post has fans puzzled as they spot surprising detail

Fans were quick to point out a surprising detail in Cristiano Ronaldo's new post as he posted a Father's Day picture of him and his son showing off their toned physiques Cristiano Ronaldo posed alongside his son, showing off his impressively toned body as a tribute to Father's Day. And while at first glance many of his social media followers were enamoured by his amazing physique, other eagle-eyed fans noticed that he had painted his toenail black. The Father's Day post showed the iconic footballer dressed in nothing but a pair of red shorts as he flexed his muscles alongside his son. ‌ He captioned the X post with a message in Portuguese that read: "Like Father, like son." ‌ However, it was soon noticed that his toenails were panted black, which created a huge discussion thread. Posting a picture of his feet one person wrote: "Why is he painting his toenails?" Another person said: "Painted your toe nails goat??" And a third person added: "Tf is this @cristiano?" Explaining the reason behind his choice of painting his nails black, one follower on the social media platform said: " Cristiano Ronaldo paints his toenails, particularly with black polish, for practical, health-related reasons, not for fashion." They added: "The practice is inspired by combat sports athletes like MMA fighters who use it to protect their nails from cracking, splitting, or fungal infections." Last month, Cristiano praised his son Ronaldo Jnr after the 14 year old made his international debut playing for the under 15s in Croatia. Taking to social media, the legendary footballer, who has played for a string of high profile clubs including Manchester United, wrote: "Congratulations on your debut by @selecaoportugal, son. Very proud of you!" ‌ Following three series of the reality TV show which gave fans an insight into her luxurious life, model Georgina Rodriguez had earned an estimated eye-watering sum of £22million. Speaking to Vogue Arabia confirming the cancellation of her show, she said: "The reality show has been one of the most important professional experiences and the one that has made me the most excited. It has been a lot of work and requires so much effort." She added: "I think that it has given me the opportunity to show the real 'me' to the world. " She went on to say: "It has been the most important and large-scale project that I have done so far. However, at the moment, I do not plan to continue with the reality show."
