When Married At First Sight Australia fans first met Dave and Jamie on their wedding day, it appeared the experts had got it right.
However, after weeks of them appearing to be the strongest couple of the series, viewers were left shocked when things went rapidly downhill for them.
The couple hit a wall after Jamie confessed her love to Dave, who didn't feel the same way.
To make matters worse, her loving groom appeared to become cold towards her as she picked up the pieces of her broken heart.
But Dave has now opened up about the heartbreaking reason for the breakdown in his marriage.
'It was cut out but I'd actually actually had a couch session before that one where I broke down and cried, because I was worried about my feelings not progressing," the MAFS star exclusively told The Sun.
'It was because of what was going on with my dad back at home.
'They didn't show that but I did communicate it all, but it came across as 'Dave has done a backflip on his emotions.
'But it was after the retreat that his chemotherapy was really affecting him and I addressed the situation and said 'I'm worried that my feelings aren't there yet with Jamie because of what's going on at home.'
'I was definitely in two places, and when you met my dad the other night I said I was in two places again. It made it hard to enjoy myself.'
Australia star reveals HUGE behind-the-scenes secret about the boozy dinner parties that fans won't see coming
He also candidly revealed another reason for his change of heart: "I'm not a hugely sexual person and that's not where I find my connection with someone, but maybe on Jamie's side it is super important to her.
'There was a bit of a mismatch in that side of things.
'We had talked about all of that off camera before and I sort of did say can we keep it between us. "

FINAL VOWS
In scenes that are still to be aired in the UK, viewers will see both Jamie and Dave commit to staying together in the Final Vows part of the show.
However, they reportedly broke up not long after filming wrapped, and are now no longer on speaking terms.
There has also been accusations that Dave has since "ghosted" Jamie, something he strongly denies.
'I definitely didn't ghost Jamie. I think that's an easy thing to say 'oh I just ghosted her,' but that definitely didn't happen," he told The Sun.
'At her final vows she was quite sick and then I got sick, and the communication probably did drop off a little bit.
'And then I ended up helping her move house into her sisters apartment, and then we went out for dinner and had a conversation and said this probably isn't it.
"So there definitely wasn't a ghosting."
MAFS fans in the UK can continue to watch Dave and Jamie's journey on the show over on Channel 4, from Monday-Thursday each week.

Brit influencer and husband feared dead in plane crash after heartbreaking post

Wellness guru Jamie Meek and husband Fiongal Greenlaw posted a video from Ahmedabad airport just moments before boarding the ill-fated plane, which went down shortly after takeoff A British influencer and his husband are among those feared dead after an Air India plane bound for London smashed into a college with hundreds on board. Wellness guru Jamie Meek and husband Fiongal Greenlaw posted a video from Ahmedabad airport just moments before boarding the ill-fated plane, which went down shortly after take-off. Meek, 45, and Greenlaw, 39, based in London, co-founded the Wellness Foundry, a company promoting holistic living. The couple had been on a holiday in India and had previously made appearances on ITV 's This Morning to showcase their wellness brand. ‌ ‌ The final video shared from the airport showed the couple in vibrant floral shirts, smiling and relaxed as they prepared to fly home. In the clip, Fiongal says, 'We are at the airport just boarding. Goodbye India. Ten-hour flight back to England. What was your biggest takeaway Jamie?' to which Jamie replies, 'I don't know,' prompting laughter from Fiongal who responds 'thanks for your contribution.' Fiongal then jokingly says his takeaway was 'don't lose your patience with your partner,' to which Jamie replied 'you snapped at me at the airport for having chai.' Surrounded by fellow travelers, Fiongal ends the clip by saying he's returning to the UK 'happily, happily calm.' Earlier videos captured highlights of their time in Ahmedabad, including scenes from a luxury hotel following a long car journey. In one clip, Fiongal, stretched out on a large bed, showcases a swing in their room, calling the space 'beautiful' and adding he is 'feeling very, very happy.' The couple are believed to have spent two weeks in India, documenting their travels through numerous social media updates. Their shared content included moments such as getting henna tattoos, shopping for textiles, and navigating bustling streets in a tuk-tuk. Just one day before the crash, Fiongal posted a message marking the end of their trip: 'So, it's our last night in India and we've had a magical experience. Some mind-blowing things have happened. We are going to put all this together and create a vlog. It's my first ever vlog about the whole trip and we want to share it.' At least 204 bodies have been recovered from the crash site near Ahmedabad Airport, according to the local police chief.

Cherie Blair says Barbara Taylor Bradford was ‘inspiration to me and millions'

The 70-year-old told the PA news agency she 'clicked' with the A Woman Of Substance writer when they first met in the early 2000s in New York. She paid tribute before the service at St Bride's Church in Fleet Street, London, on Thursday, which was attended by about 100 people, dressed in an array of colours, including actors, authors and fans of the novelist. Author Barbara Taylor Bradford poses for pictures after she received her honour from Queen Elizabeth II (Steve Parsons/PA) Taylor Bradford died at the age of 91 on November 24 last year following a short illness, 'and was surrounded by loved ones to the very end', a spokeswoman said at the time. Mrs Blair, who is married to former British prime minister Tony Blair, said of the author: 'We're two northern girls of similar backgrounds, and we were friends ever since. 'Barbara was the woman of substance, she was elegant, she was warm, she was intelligent, she was feisty, she was an amazing person and a really good friend. 'Every time she wrote a new book, she would send one to me, but she also sent one to my mum too. 'She was a great novelist because she absorbed knowledge from all around her, she gave back so much, she never forgot her northern roots. Jenny Seagrove (left) and Cherie Blair attended a memorial service for Barbara Taylor Bradford (Jeff Moore/PA) 'She was my friend, and she's an inspiration to me, and to millions.' The ceremony began with the theme to the TV adaption of A Woman Of Substance, before a choir sang In Paradisum from Gabriel Faure's Requiem. The choir's performance was followed by a welcome and opening prayer from reverend canon Dr Alison Joyce, who spoke about Taylor Bradford's roots as a journalist at the Yorkshire Evening Post. Actor Liam Neeson, 73, who starred in the Channel 4 adaption of Taylor Bradford's book, also paid tribute to the novelist during the service, in a message read out by actress Jenny Seagrove. Neeson said in his message: 'In 1984, I had the great honour of playing Blackie O'Neill in the television adaptation of Barbara Taylor Bradford's A Woman Of Substance, and again in its sequel, Hold The Dream. 'It was a landmark moment — the first television drama series to reach more than 13.8 million viewers on Britain's Channel 4 — and something we were all incredibly proud of. 'But more than the numbers, it was Barbara's vision, her storytelling, and her fierce dedication to her characters that made the work so special. 'She was a force — elegant, brilliant and unstoppable — and I feel deeply privileged to have been part of bringing her words to life.' Liam Neeson starred in an adaptation of A Woman With Substance (Ian West/PA) Seagrove, 67, who played Emma Harte in the adaption, told PA: 'Barbara championed women before a lot of other people. It's now fashionable to give women a voice, but Barbara fought for strong women. 'She wrote strong women. She was a strong woman.' The actress continued: 'Barbara was a force of nature, she didn't suffer fools, she had great attention to detail, she always had a chuckle, and always saw the funny side of things. 'She was deeply, deeply in love and loved by her husband, it was one of the most extraordinary relationships. 'She loved her dogs, I used to ring up because I love dogs, and we talked about whatever Bichon Frise she'd got at the time. 'She used to say, 'I put my makeup on as a mask, and then I go to battle', she went out there and took on the world, and boy, did she succeed. 'She was a friend, she meant a lot to me, her work changed my life. But more than anything, I'm here because I loved her, and I think probably everybody here was here because they loved her, because she was a remarkably loyal woman. 'If she loved you, she stood by you. That was it.' Also in attendance was TV presenter Fern Britton, 67, who told PA the 'moving, yet rich and warm' ceremony had brought her to tears. She said: 'The books will obviously stand as her legacy. 'But for me, it is seeing her walk into a room with a beautiful suit on, carrying an Hermes bag with an Hermes scarf tied around it and fabulous jewellery and her big smile – that for me, is her legacy.' Eve Pollard attending a memorial service for Barbara Taylor Bradford (Jeff Moore/PA) Taylor Bradford's best known book A Woman Of Substance is a rags-to-riches tale set in the 1900s that follows the life of Yorkshire servant Emma who later heads up a business empire. Other TV adaptations of her books included ITV's Act Of Will starring Elizabeth Hurley and Victoria Tennant, and To Be The Best, a sequel to A Woman Of Substance with Lindsay Wagner and Sir Anthony Hopkins. The former US editor in chief of Elle magazine, Eve Pollard, who is the mother of Claudia Winkleman, told PA she felt her long-time friend had been in the church with her. The 81-year-old said: 'I found the service very moving and very Barbara, that was what was wonderful. 'I think Jenny Seagrove said she's in the room and you more or less felt she was and I said to somebody, 'can't we all go to our memorial services and then die quietly later?' because it was perfect. 'It had everything, it had New York in it and the Yorkshire side of it.' The author was often labelled 'the grand dame of blockbusters', with her books selling more than 91 million copies and having been published in more than 40 languages and in 90 countries. In April it was announced that Vera actress Brenda Blethyn will lead a new Channel 4 adaptation of A Woman Of Substance, playing protagonist Emma.

Gripping sci-fi series with 'preposterous twist' now streaming on Channel 4

It's a great time to be a fan of great science fiction, especially on the small screen. We've had Andor season 2, Doctor Who season 15, and a brand spanking new series of Charlie Brooker's twisted brainchild, Black Mirror. If, though, you've already watched the Rebels rise up, the Doctor save the day and enjoyed Black Mirror's twists and turns, then you might be looking for something new to watch. Well, if that's the case, you're in luck. Channel 4 has a brand new show you can watch right now, and even better, it's supposedly got a bonkers twist. The new drama is called BETH, and it follows Joe (Nicholas Pinnock) and Molly (Abbey Lee), a couple who unexpectedly get pregnant after multiple failed IVF attempts. Needless to say, though, once the miracle child is born, it becomes clear that something is very wrong for reasons we won't go into here – the spoiler police are everywhere . To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Written and directed by award-winning filmmaker and photographer Uzo Oleh, the show is already being compared to Black Mirror, although critics are divided on the series. In their three star review The Guardian's Lucy Mangan praised the show for it's stylish direction and impressive cast but critisised it's pacing, writing 'the script needs to be tighter and work harder so that we aren't left feeling as if we've just watched the beginning of a Black Mirror episode.' The Independent also gave the show three stars in their review. Much like The Guardian, they felt the premise was a little underbaked and criticised the 'poorly executed', and 'preposterous' twist. That said, though, they did say it provided 'food for thought' and urged their readers to check it out because, in their words, 'when it's good, it's a little miracle'. Sadly, Anita Singh from The Telegraph was far less kind. She gave BETH just two out of five stars and wrote that while it looks beautiful that Uzo 'was too hung up on the visuals'. Of course, the critics aren't the only ones who've seen the show and general audiences have been far kinder. More Trending On X @AndrewOldbury wrote: 'It's great to see Channel 4 breaking new ground by commissioning digital dramas. Beth is a meditative and delicately told story by Uzo Oleh of a couple's attempt to conceive.' Meanwhile, on YouTube @catharinalara220 added 'Fabulous film. Tense and suspenseful. Wonderful work' a sentiment echoed by @mariamysoul, who added 'Love Nicholas Pinnock's effortless acting, and Uzo Oleh is a talented new director. Wish it had been longer. Hope it becomes a series.' BETH is Channel 4's first digital original drama, and as such, it can either be streamed on Channel 4's own streaming platform, where it's broken up into three parts View More » Or you fancy you can watch it on YouTube, where it has been uploaded as one full episode.
