Real Madrid's Bellingham set to miss 12 weeks after shoulder surgery
"Our player Jude Bellingham has undergone successful surgery for a recurrent left shoulder dislocation," said Real Madrid in a statement.
"Bellingham will now begin a period of rehabilitation prior to his return to recovery work."
While Madrid did not specify the expected length of his recovery time, Spanish media have reported it will take around 12 weeks for him to return to action.
Bellingham has been struggling with shoulder discomfort after dislocating it in a La Liga match in November 2023, and playing with a brace under his shirt since then.
The England midfielder held off on the operation until after Madrid's participation in the Club World Cup this summer, with Xabi Alonso's side reaching the semi-finals.
Bellingham is set to miss the La Liga visit to face rivals Atletico Madrid in late September, as well as the club's first two Champions League matches.
The 22-year-old midfielder should be back in action by the time Madrid host Barcelona in the first Clasico of the season in late October.
"I've got the point where... I'm fed up with the brace, and having to tug on it and having (other) players tug on it, and it rearranging all the time," said Bellingham during the Club World Cup.
The midfielder will also miss World Cup qualifiers with England against Andorra and Serbia on September 6 and 9 respectively.

Orlando Pirates seal major partnership ahead of new season
Orlando Pirates have supercharged their 2025/2026 season preparations by announcing a headline partnership with Suzuki South Africa, who now serve as the club's official vehicle partner. The Bucs revealed this exciting collaboration on the very same day they launched their brand-new season kits, which immediately went on sale. Although the financial details remain under wraps, Suzuki's branding will now feature prominently on the sleeve of the club's shirts throughout the campaign. 'Isukile! We're proud to embark on an exciting new journey with Orlando Pirates as their official vehicle partner. A new season with a partnership ready to drive the game forward,' declared Suzuki. Orlando Pirates head into the new season riding a wave of success. Last term, the Soweto giants made history by reaching the CAF Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2013. Although they narrowly missed out on a place in the final after a tough away leg against Pyramids, the achievement marked a strong continental showing. Domestically, the Buccaneers finished second in the Betway Premiership, securing another shot at CAF club competition. Their hunger for silverware didn't stop there. Pirates lifted the MTN8 trophy for a third consecutive time, overcoming Stellenbosch in a dramatic final in Durban. They also came close to a domestic double but narrowly missed out on a third straight Nedbank Cup. Falling to fierce rivals Kaizer Chiefs in a tightly contested final. This high-profile partnership places Orlando Pirates alongside several other Premier Soccer League clubs that have recently entered vehicle sponsorship agreements. Durban City, newly promoted to the top flight, linked up with BMW Supertech. AmaZulu signed with Mitsubishi, Kaizer Chiefs continue their long-standing relationship with Toyota, and Mamelodi Sundowns recently announced their partnership with Cherry SA. Supporters won't have to wait long to see the Suzuki logo in action. Pirates will debut their new-look kit in the MTN8 quarter-final clash against Polokwane City at Orlando Stadium on Saturday, 2 August. Do you like Orlando Pirates' new sponsor? ALSO READ: Sundowns' Ribeiro linked with 'blockbuster' transfer 'The new look Sundowns kit is a celebration of the style of play that has earned this amazing Club eight PSL titles in a row, a Champions League star and many other accolades not least of which was their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup where that skill and style was on display for all to see,' said Brett Bellinger, PUMA SA Marketing Director. 'The kit pays homage to this in a beautiful way with the underarm print using the unique, almost kaleidoscopic pattern inspired by traditional hand-dyed fabric combined with traced movements from analysing Mamelodi Sundowns games.' Rashford ‘at home' at Barca after sealing loan from Man United
"The agreement also establishes an option to buy the English forward." English forward Marcus Rashford who joined Barcelona on loan from Manchester United holds up his jersey during his official presentation at the Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona on Wednesday. Photo: Josep LAGO / AFP Marcus Rashford said his new club Barcelona already 'feels like home' after the Spanish champions loaned the attacker from Manchester United on Wednesday with a future purchase option. 'Barcelona and Manchester United have reached a deal for the loan of the player Marcus Rashford until June 30, 2026,' announced the La Liga champions in a statement. ALSO READ: Mbeumo thrilled to follow in Ronaldo's footsteps at 'biggest club in the world' Man United 'The agreement also establishes an option to buy the English forward.' Barcelona are paying around 75 percent of Rashford's £325,000-a-week wage ($435,000) while he is at the club, with the player foregoing the rest, according to Spanish reports. The 27-year-old England international was out of favour under United coach Ruben Amorim and spent the final months of the 2024/25 season on loan at Aston Villa. 'I feel like my choice was easy, it's a family club, something I'm used to from my past. It feels like home so I feel like I've made the right decision,' Rashford told reporters. 'I'm just excited to get going and I'm eager to play the first game… it's a special moment for me.' Rashford, who made his United debut in 2015, became an outcast at Old Trafford, with Amorim publically doubting his commitment and desire. Despite falling out of favour at his boyhood club, Rashford explained he would not criticise the Red Devils. 'The situation with United is that the club is in a period of change and they have been for a while, I don't have anything bad to say about Manchester United,' explained Rashford. 'I think it's been an important part of not only my career but just my life. I'm grateful for the opportunity to play for them. Football is the same as life and not everything goes as simple as you may have thought. 'This is my next step, my next chapter. I'm fully focused on this and trying to improve myself and help the team win trophies.' Rashford will take the number 14 shirt at Barcelona, formerly worn by Thierry Henry among others. 'To wear this shirt is an honour and I'm ready to do my best,' said Rashford. 'The club is built on winning and I'm here to try and add to this history.' – 'Ready' for anything – In May, Barca coach Hansi Flick said Rashford and Liverpool winger Luis Diaz were 'fantastic players' amid transfer links to both, with the club keen to reinforce on the left flank, and also tried to sign Nico Williams. Last season the Catalans were irresistible in attack, winning a domestic treble, but had little in the way of back up for key wingers Raphinha and Lamine Yamal. Rashford could also offer cover for veteran Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, who turns 37 in August. 'I'm ready for whatever challenges may come, and I'm going to enjoy the ups and the downs, the positives, the negatives,' said Rashford. 'I'm ready for whatever is to come with this club.' Rashford, who came through Manchester United's academy, last played for the Premier League club in December, scoring 138 goals in 426 appearances for the Red Devils. At Aston Villa he managed four goals in 17 games before a hamstring injury cut his season short in April. Barcelona had trouble registering signings last season with La Liga, including midfielder Dani Olmo, and according to reports may need to find ways to balance the books before registering Rashford and their first summer arrival, goalkeeper Joan Garcia. 'Regardless of what happens in the next season, I'm not going to regret my decision,' said Rashford. Few British players have joined Barcelona since the 1980s, when Gary Lineker, Steve Archibald and Mark Hughes all played for the club. Lineker scored 52 goals for Barca during three years at the club and asked if he could emulate the forward, Rashford said 'I hope so.' 'Of course, it would be good for me to score lots of goals, and be the highest scoring British player to play for Barcelona, but it's more important to me that we win,' he added.
