2.05, Newbury – Class 4 novice (6f ½f)
As is usually the case at this time of year we have limited evidence to go on in this two-year-old event. But there is one form line that stands out.
Cape Orator and DODGE CITY finished sixth and 12th respectively on debut at this venue back in May, where the seventh, 10th and 11th have won since as well as the third, 14th and 16th finishing runner-up subsequently.
Despite the extra half-furlong today, we will opt for the horse that in my opinion looks more suited to today's sharp conditions on breeding, which is Dodge City.
While Brian Meehan's charge finished an additional 3.5 lengths back from his opponent today in that race, he met some trouble in running and the longer price makes plenty of appeal.
2.15, Nottingham – Class 6 handicap (5f)
SNOW BERRY has been chalked up as favourite after a second-place finish last time out on her return to turf at Nottingham.
The seven-year-old mare had a string of underwhelming efforts on artificial surfaces over the winter bringing her rating down 4lb below her previous winning mark.
She should strip fitter for her last run – and up just 2lb, there is plenty to like about this choice.

Today's nap is the Sir Mark Prescott charge DEEP WATER BAY, who will be well found in the market and has opened up at even money.
This very well-bred stayer, a son of New Bay out of Galileo mare Best Friend, achieved his mark of 59 over insufficient one-mile trips. His trainer has a remarkable ability to find more in a horse when upped in trip and this gelding duly obliged, winning over 1m 4f on handicap debut, making all to triumph assertively.
He can continue that form up a further two furlongs today off just 6lb more when he is due to go up 7lb in total for his success.

Witnesses have claimed that a billionaire friend of Prince William told his teammates 'I've swallowed something' before he died after 'ingesting a bee' during polo match. Sunjay Kapur, 53, collapsed in front of horrified teammates during the game at Guards Polo Club in Windsor. He posted: 'Terrible news of the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected. May they find strength in this difficult hour.' In a statement, Sona Comstar said: 'We are deeply saddened by the sudden demise of our Chairman, Mr Sunjay Kapur. 'He was a visionary leader whose passion, insight and dedication shaped the identity and success of our company.' Author and actor Suhel Seth posted on X, formerly Twitter: 'Deeply saddened at the passing of @sunjaykapur: he passed away earlier today in England. 'A terrible loss and deepest condolences to his family and to his colleagues.' Mr Kapur's former wife, Bollywood star Karisma Kapoor, has previously spoken in interviews about him playing polo with the Prince of Wales. The University of Buckingham graduate married Priya Sachdev Kapur, a former model and entrepreneur with whom he had a son named Azarias Kapur born in 2018. Mr Kapur died as his Aureus team were playing in a semi-final match in the Cartier Queen's Cup against Sujan Indian Tigers. The match started at 3pm on Tuesday, June 12 at the club's Smith's Lawn grounds. The club is closely associated with the Royal family. Prince Philip was the club's president from the time it was founded in January 1955 until his death in April 2021 - holding the role for 66 years. King Charles became the club's new president last year. In a statement the club said its chairman Lieutenant Colonel Sean O'Dwyer along with 'directors and members' were 'shocked to learn that Sunjay Kapur, owner of the Aureus polo team, died after becoming unwell when playing in a match at Smith's Lawn'. Sam Thompson declared he would not be able to compete in Soccer Aid on Sunday on doctor's orders, moments after he put on an animated display during training on Friday despite a horrendous calf injury. But anyone could see things were pretty awkward between him and One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson, with Louis giving Sam what appeared to be a 'hard stare' and looking glum and uncomfortable. Sam, 32, previously insisted there are 'no hard feelings' after his ex-girlfriend Zara McDermott moved on pretty quickly with singer Louis, 33, following their split in December, and the new couple have been inseparable since going public in March. But body language expert Judi James believes there is a 'playground mentality' to Louis and Sam, despite their public front - with fans noting there wasn't a single handshake or friendly moment that took place between them. While it's highly commendable that the pair honoured their commitment to children's charity, Unicef and turned up for two days of training, Judi told MailOnline that while Sam appeared well integrated with the other players, smiling and happy, Louis seemed more 'glum' and separate. She said: 'There seems to be more of a playground dynamic growing from the body language here. During an appearance on Friday's episode of This morning, the 32-year-old first confirmed the devastating news that he won't be taking part in the charity match this Sunday (15 June). It comes after he suffered a string of injuries, including a calf injury, after his 260-mile Soccer Aid challenge at the start of the month. Instead of playing the game, the reality star will be helping from the sidelines as a coach. This Morning host Alison Hammond was keen to know how he's been since his injury, asking: 'Have you recovered, how are you doing?'
