Chinese tourist confesses to murdering transgender woman in Thailand, removing her organs

The Star27-04-2025

BANGKOK: A Chinese welder has confessed to killing a Thai transgender woman in Pattaya and cutting her up to remove her organs because he wanted to 'play' with the body, Thai media reported on Sunday (April 27).
The suspect, identified by Thai police as 42-year-old Fu Tongyuen from Hubei province, said he killed Woranun Pannacha, 25, in his rented apartment room in central Pattaya, Khaosod English.
Through a translator, Fu told police he met Woranun on the evening of April 25 at a beach in South Pattaya and they exchanged contacts.
At that time, he did not known that Woranun was transgender.
At 9pm the same day, Woranun contacted Fu and they agreed to meet at his apartment where he paid her 8,000 baht (S$314.66) for sex.
However, Woranun had cold feet and refused to have sex with him, so Fu demanded a 50 per cent refund.
She refused which led to an argument. He said she scratched him in the face and kicked him off the bed.
Enraged, he got back on the bed, sat on her body and strangled her until her body went limp.
Fu then dragged Woranun's body to the bathroom where he used a pair of scissors to cut open her body.
He claimed that he had bought the scissors to protect himself when he went out at night.
Telling investigators he wanted to 'play' with her body, he said he cut open her breasts and pulled out her silicone implants. He also cut the body from neck to the genital area and took out her heart.
After that, he washed Woranun's body and cleaned off the blood in the room before leaving the body in the bathroom and going to sleep.
Waking up a few hours later, Fu booked a flight ticket to China, then hopped on a motorbike taxi and a bus to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok.
He was arrested by the police at the airport on April 26.
Fu, whose face still bore bloodied scratch marks at the time of arrest, told the police he became enraged and could not control himself after he was assaulted by Woranun.
He said he did not know if he was suffering from any mental health issues and apologised for his actions.
Pattaya police chief Anek Srathongyoo said Fu confessed to the crime due to overwhelming evidence, Bangkok Post reported.
Anek said one of Woranun's lungs was missing, but Fu said he did not touch it.
Police investigations are still ongoing. - The Straits Times/ANN

Chinese Woman Arrested After Attempting To Break Into BTS' Jungkook's Home

It's only been a day since BTS (방탄소년단) member Jungkook (정국) returned from his military service. However, there has already been a serious invasion of his privacy. Earlier today, news outlets reported that a woman had allegedly attempted to break into the idol's home. According to news reports, Yongsan Police officers have arrested a Chinese woman in her 30s for attempting to trespass on Jungkook's residence in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The incident occurred on the night of 11th June 2025 (Wednesday), at around 11:20pm. Police were called to the scene after neighbours caught the woman pressing the electronic keylock on the door, likely attempting to enter the premises. It's unknown whether Jungkook was at the residence during the incident. However, after her arrest, the woman revealed she came to Korea to see Jungkook following his army discharge. The police are investigating the specific circumstances of the incident. Jungkook's label, HYBE, has commented on the situation but said, 'It's difficult to provide detailed information on the situation as the police are currently investigating the situation.' Meanwhile, ARMYs online have shared their reaction to the news, mostly expressing shock over the situation. Many criticised the woman's action, hoping she'd receive appropriate punishment for attempted trespassing. Others lamented the extreme situation with BTS' stalkers, or sasaengs, urging HYBE to protect their artists. Some also said that the singer has only returned from the military for a day, but already has to deal with stalkers. This case isn't the only issue surrounding BTS' recent military discharge. After RM (알앰), V (뷔), Jimin (지민) and Jungkook completed their military service, roughly 1,500 ARMYs flocked to the HYBE building in Seoul to celebrate the occasion. However, the move sparked a backlash as the large crowd could cause traffic disruptions and possible accidents. In response, Jimin shared a post on the Weverse platform, asking the fans not to gather near the building. While we understand the fans' wishes to meet the BTS members, we hope they can respect the idols' wishes not to gather in front of the HYBE building. As for the break-in case, we hope the perpetrator will receive the appropriate punishment. What are your thoughts on this? Siti Kasim berates Malays for excessive racist troll on Anthony Loke because he's a Chinese minister

'WHAT'S wrong with the Malays as they're becoming more racist with each passing day?' Such was the reaction of Siti Kasim to the slew of racist comments hurled at Anthony Loke Siew Fook – including demanding for his resignation as Transport Minister – after 15 Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) students perished in a chartered bus crash in the wee hours of Monday (June 9). 'Would the Malays have made similar racist remarks if the Transport Minister were to be a Malay,' the human rights activist and lawyer fumed in a no holds barred tone in her latest YouTube rant. 'So you guys feel right to condemn him just because it happens that the dead are the Malays and he's a Chinese.' 'Use your brain if you want to condemn him … how can you fault the minister for the spate of (heavy vehicle) accidents?' In Siti Kasim's views, most of the crashes involving heavy vehicles are caused by reckless, speeding drivers which is synonymous with express/tour buses (even lorries, trucks and trailers) coupled with poor vehicle maintenance by companies that own the vehicles. 'Are you expecting the minister to also be responsible for the maintenance and service of the vehicles, too?' asked the Orang Asli advocate. 'Be ashamed that your stupid/shallow comments only show that you don't use your brains to think. 'As per the bus driver's own account, if indeed the brake of the bus had malfunctioned moments before the accident, then this means that the ill-fated bus wasn't properly maintained by the company owner who also happens to be Malay.' Editor's Note: The Transport Ministry had on yesterday (June 11) revoked the vehicle permit of the Kulim (Kedah)-based bus operator, Kenari Utara Travel & Tour Sdn Bhd, after it was found that the bus has been loaned to a different individual in Kelantan for RM500 per month. Additionally. the bus owner also failed to provide GPS (Global Positioning System) data report when asked by the authorities because the device was not activated during operation. Moreover, Siti Kasim also pointed to dashcam evidence which shows that the bus was driven at high speed just moments before the accidents (Editor's note: There was also eyewitnesses account that a few passengers had told the driver to slow down during the journey but he refused to heed such request). I can't fathom how all these facts are not bundled together but instead fingers are pointed at Loke in a racist manner? Are you not condemning the driver because he's a Malay (or the company which is Bumiputera-owned)? 'I feel called to comment as the remarks are getting out of hand … I don't wish to defend Loke for I'm not a boot-licker but the comments seem to point to a concerted effort by certain quarters to spark anger within the Malay community. To my Malay brethren, please filter your thoughts before airing your racist views on social media. Ask yourself if you would have done the same if the Transport Minister were to be a Malay especially given that the (UPSI) accident seems to stem from the driver's recklessness and the bus operator's poor vehicle maintenance as opposed to perhaps poor road conditions. – June 12, 2025

However, the 25-year-old is now just a step away from becoming a teacher after completing his practical training at SMK Bandar Baru Sultan Sulaiman in Klang, Selangor. 'I have been ill for a long time, and the situation worsened after my late father suffered from a mysterious illness,' he recalled. 'The hardest time was during my studies at the Matriculation College when I couldn't finish my studies, though I only had a month left to go. 'I continued my studies in education because I wanted to become a teacher, as it was my late father's wish,' he said. Amin Mustaqim added that he started working as a trainee teacher last April and taught mathematics to Form Two and Form Four students. Kosmo! reported that Dafi, however, prayed that Jovian would be able to handle whatever challenges he is facing. 'I can't comment because I'm not sure about his predicament and rarely keep in touch with him,' said the son of former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. When asked about the last time he communicated with Jovian, Dafi said they only talked about his niece, Jeanelle Nika Mandagie. 'I don't remember, but it wasn't too long ago. Alhamdulillah, everything is fine,' he added. According to sources, the testimony of the 39-year-old fashion designer will be recorded by the MACC at a location in Jakarta, as he resides there. MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki reportedly said Jovian was named as a witness by Ismail Sabri when the latter's statement was recorded to verify assets declared to the MACC.
