I wouldn't come to Isle of Man TT if I didn't think I could win more races: Michael Dunlop
Dunlop won four races around the 37.73-mile Mountain Course in 2024 to take over from his idolised uncle Joey as the most successful racer in the event's history.
The 36-year-old extended his tally of victories to 29, three more than Joey's previous record of 26, which he set with a final treble in 2000.
Dunlop began the road racing season on a winning note with victories at the Cookstown 100 before impressing at the North West 200 where the Ballymoney legend returned to winning ways on the north coast for the first time since 2016.
Dunlop powered to Superbike success on his new BMW machine and won on his new BMW Superstock and Ducati Supersport bikes for a hat-trick.
His performances turned heads at Ulster's top motorcycle race and he goes into the TT on a high.
'The preparations are going quite good, we had a good North West and we were on the money,' said Dunlop, who now has a section of the TT course named in his honour on the approach to the 27th milestone, with a previously unnamed left-hand bend known as MD's.
'We won three races and broke down in a couple, and I'm feeling really good.
'I wouldn't be coming here if I didn't think I could win more races, and I feel like I'm as fast as I ever was.
'We just need a bit of practice, hopefully, to dial them (new bikes) in, but the team's working hard and we're going to push on for them.'
Dunlop may be the slight favourite before race week is scheduled to begin on Saturday with the first of two Supersport races, but he faces a formidable challenge from 8TEN Racing BMW riders Peter Hickman and Davey Todd and official Honda Racing UK contender Dean Harrison.
Hickman remains the outright lap record holder at the TT after recording a blistering 136.358mph in 2023 on his BMW Superstock machine.
The English rider won the Superbike race last June for his 14th victory after Dunlop's dominant lead was eradicated when he had to stop after his second pit stop to fix his visor, which hadn't been correctly fastened in the pitlane.
Todd made a huge breakthrough when he won his first TT races in 2024, taking Superstock and Senior victories.
The Saltburn man is hungry for more but hasn't enjoyed the best preparation for the TT, with Todd and Hickman – who co-own 8TEN Racing – pulling their team together in just a few months.
The 29-year-old is yet to completely gel with his BMW Superbike, and Todd hasn't ruled out riding a Superstock machine at the TT.
Roads around the Mountain Course on Monday are due to close at 10.00am with a Newcomers Speed Controlled lap from 10.40am.
With adverse weather forecast, all classes will be given two laps of untimed practice and all roads are due to be reopened by 2.45pm.
Meanwhile, Marco Bezzecchi won the British MotoGP on Sunday at Silverstone for the factory Aprilia team.
Italian Bezzecchi delivered Aprilia's first victory of the 2025 season as the manufacturer returned to the top step in the premier class for the first time since the Grand Prix of the Americas in 2024.
Johann Zarco (LCR Honda) finished second, while Championship leader Marc Marquez (Lenovo Ducati) pipped Franco Morbidelli for third.
The race was restarted because of an oil spill, with Marquez and his brother Alex (Gresini Ducati) both crashing while leading. Frenchman Fabio Quartararo retired with a bike problem.
The Second Round of the British Talent Cup series was held on the MotoGP undercard and there was jubilation for Northern Ireland teenager Peter Willis, who won his first race in the class.

New Ferrari Outsells The Classics Few nameplates are more established on the auction circuit than Ferrari, and classic sports and race cars from the Prancing Horse—like the 250 GTO—typically garner the biggest bids. But a much more recent Ferrari—a unique build from an already-limited series—bucked that trend at this past week's 2025 Monterey Car Week auctions. 0:06 / 0:09 2024 Jaguar F-Type convertible review: The art of saying goodbye Watch More The 2025 Ferrari Daytona SP3 Tailor Made known as '599+1' sold for $26 million at RM Sotheby's Monterey auction, the highest sale price ever for a Ferrari at auction, according to the automaker. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Ferrari Foundation, a charity that funds educational and community projects. A Modern Icon Revealed in 2021, the Daytona SP3 is part of Ferrari's Icona Series of limited-edition models, which itself started with the Monza SP1 and SP2 in 2018. They were modern tributes to Ferrari race cars of the 1950s, while the Daytona SP3 carried the theme forward, taking inspiration from 1960s Ferrari prototype racers like the 330 P3/4—the sleek racer that battled the Ford GT40 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and delivered a 1-2-3 victory for Ferrari at the 1967 Daytona 24 Hours. The SP3 is powered by a modified version of the 812 Superfast's 6.5-liter V12. With 828 horsepower and 514 pound-feet of torque, without assistance from a hybrid system or forced induction. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission meters the flow of power to the rear wheels, getting the SP3 from zero to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds and to 124 mph in 7.4 seconds, according to Ferrari. Tailor Made Masterpiece By providing your email address, you agree that it may be used pursuant to Arena Group's Privacy Policy. We may receive compensation. Ferrari initially planned a run of 599 cars, all of which were quickly claimed by customers. But as it's done in the past with the LaFerrari coupe and LaFerrari Aperta convertible, Ferrari decided to build one more example to be auctioned off for charity. That's why this car is called '599+1.' But instead of simply churning out one more car, Ferrari handed the unofficial 600th SP3 off to its Tailor Made personalization division, which gave it a bold asymmetric two-tone livery of Giallo Modena (yellow) paint and glossy exposed carbon fiber. A Ferrari logo graphic, stretching from front to back along the car's centerline, is the first of its kind on a Ferrari road car from the factory, according to the automaker. Inside, 599+1 has Q-Cycle fabric upholstery made from recycled tires, with yellow seatbelts and Prancing Horse badges in the headrests repeating the exterior color scheme. The instrument cluster and steering column are clad in carbon fiber sourced from the Scuderia Ferrari F1 team, arranged in a checkered-flag pattern. This V8-Swapped Mercedes C63 Is The BMW M3's Worst Nightmare
By signing up I agree to the Terms of Use and acknowledge that I have read the Privacy Policy . You may unsubscribe from email communication at anytime. The top trim of an icon is available at a competitive monthly lease payment this month. This is the V8-powered W206 C63 that Mercedes-AMG refused to build The BMW M3's chief rival—none other than the W206 Mercedes-AMG C63 S—is a cracking sports sedan, but its four-cylinder plug-in hybrid powertrain has not thrilled fans like the old V8. Going from a V8 to a four-pot hybrid was simply too big of a move from one generation to the next, which is why the hybrid power plant is set to be replaced. Until that happens, C63 fans will have to turn to aftermarket tuners to get the W206 C63 they really want. Leading the charge is Vuk Manufaktur, a German tuner that has just completed the C63's transformation from four-cylinder PHEV to V8-powered brute. A Widebody Kit To Match The V8 Roar Earlier this year, Vuk Manufaktur showed us that it had created a new C63 with the much-loved 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8. According to the tuner, it was the world's first W206 C-Class with a V8, and it took two years of development, probably because replacing the stock C63's complicated plug-in hybrid system with a V8 wasn't as straightforward as a normal engine swap. Now, Vuk has revealed a dramatic body kit for this W206, giving it the visual punch to match that V8 growl. The tuner calls this the Vuk EVOlutionX, and it's obvious that the kit was inspired by the legendary 190E Evolution II. Oops! We're unable to load this content right now. View directly on Instagram In front, there is a huge new splitter along with rods that run into the bumper. The Vuk logo replaces the Mercedes one on the fully blacked-out grille. Along the sides, there are much wider fenders than on the normal model, and Vuk has gone as far as to return the beloved 'V8 BITURBO' badge to this C63, replacing the standard model's 'TURBO E PERFORMANCE' badge. The six-spoke wheels harken back to the 190E, and they have blue accents, as do the new side skirts. The new rear wing is hilariously large and will surely raise the eyebrows of Mitsubishi Lancer Evo drivers, but that's another feature shared with the 190E. And this is now the only C63 to fully justify the fitment of four tailpipes. How Much Power Does It Make? Vuk didn't share the outputs of its awesome creation, but we know that the previous-generation C63 produced up to 503 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque in 'S' form. Those numbers look weedy next to the new C63 hybrid, which manages 671 hp combined, but we're sure that many AMG fans are willing to trade in some horsepower for the V8's unmatched soundtrack. Either way, we don't expect the C63 from Vuks to match the stock model's 0-60 mph time of around three seconds, based on independent testing. Source: Vuk Manufaktur 'Technically, the four-cylinder is one of the most advanced drivetrains available in a production car,' said an insider from Mercedes recently. 'It's also right up there on performance. But despite this, it failed to resonate with our traditional customers. We've recognized that.' While a V8 is not a guarantee for the next C63, we expect that Mercedes-AMG won't settle for anything less than a six-cylinder mill, based on the cool reception to the current four-cylinder hybrid model. Until then, tuners like Vuk Manufaktur are around to build the W206 C63 S that Mercedes-AMG should have in the first place. Only 63 of these V8-powered W206s will be built, but pricing is unknown.
