With another action-packed month of MMA in the books, MMA Junkie looks at the best knockouts from June 2025: Here are the five nominees, listed in chronological order, and winner of MMA Junkie's Knockout of the Month award for June.
At the bottom of the post, let us know if we got it right by voting for your choice.
Nominee: Steve Collins def. Gabariel Brown at LFA 210
Steve Collins (5-0) found himself defending an armbar in the first round of his 152-pound catchweight fight against Gaberial Brown (4-3). There are a few techniques available to fend off the limb submission, but Collins opted for the most savage option.

Collins got his feet under him, and deadlifted Brown high in the air, and then dropped him on his head, "Rampage" Jackson style. Brown appeared out cold from the impact with the canvas, but a few follow-up punches were landed before the referee could rush in to stop the fight.
Nominee: Billy Alexander def. Zachary Siemasko at Ring of Combat 86
Billy Alexander (1-0) couldn't have fathomed a more brutal finish in his MMA debut when he put Zachary Seimasko (0-1) out cold in scary fashion.
After some sloppy action that would be expected out of two professional newcomers, Alexander charged at Seimasko with a flying knee that instantly send him flying backward unconscious.
Nominee: Malcolm Wellmaker def. Kris Moutinho at UFC on ESPN 69
Malcolm Wellmaker (10-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) gave the Atlanta crowd what it wanted with a devastating one-punch knockout of Kris Moutinho (14-7 MMA, 0-3 UFC).

Georgia native Wellmaker continued to add to his hype as a bantamweight prospect to watch with an absolutely perfect right hook that put Moutinho out on impact and sent him face planted into the canvas less than three minutes into the fight.
Nominee: Gregory Rodriguez def. Jack Hermansson at UFC 317
Gregory Rodrigues scored a vicious one-punch knockout of Jack Hermansson that will be the new standard of his highlight reel.
In the first round of the middleweight bout, Rodrigues (17-6 MMA, 8-3 UFC) caught Hermansson (24-9 MMA, 11-7 UFC) with a clean left hand that immediately stiffened him on the canvas. One unnecessary hammer fist sealed the show. Hermansson was down for several minutes after the knockout blow connected, but eventually got back to his feet and left the octagon under his own power.
The winner: Ilia Topuria def. Charles Oliveira via punches at UFC 317

In the UFC 317 main event, Topuria (17-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) knocked out Charles Oliveira in 2:27 and claimed a championship – this time, at lightweight.
The fight was wild for as long as it lasted. Oliveira (35-11 MMA, 23-11 UFC) was cut in the opening minute. When he tried to drag the fight to the canvas, Topuria reversed his attempt and landed on top.
Oliveira attempted a heel hook, which Topuria wiggled away from. Back on the feet, Topuria cracked him with a straight right hand that instantly snatched Oliveira's consciousness from him. Two more follow-up shots smashed Oliveira's face before the fight was waved off.
Topuria, 28, won the UFC featherweight title in October. He vacated the title months later, citing weight cut issues. A breakthrough star in the Spanish and Georgian markets, Topuria became the first undefeated fighter to win a second UFC title.

UFC contender Youssef Zalal itching to fight again in 2025, calls out Josh Emmett

Youssef Zalal wants to test himself with one of the biggest punchers in the UFC's featherweight division. LAS VEGAS – Youssef Zalal is getting itchy knuckles, and wants to get back in the cage as soon as possible. The streaking UFC featherweight contender has yet to book his second fight of 2025, and is already growing a bit restless, given he last fought in February. Speaking with MMA Junkie, Zalal (17-5-1 MMA, 7-3-1 UFC), who's on a seven-fight win streak, pitched veteran Josh Emmett to be his dance partner for his return to the octagon. "I hope the Josh Emmett fight can happen," Zalal told MMA Junkie Radio ahead of UFC 317. The Emmett callout is not personal, it's just what Zalal sees feasible at this point. There's a lot of moving pieces in the featherweight division, and several booked bouts. Zalal sees Emmett is one of the few top contenders he has a lot to gain from, who's currently not booked to fight. "I want to be the best in the world," Zalal said. "I want to be the world champion and I will be a world champion, so for me, we need that. I feel like the only way to climb up is to fight the top guys. For me, I'm just trying to climb up in the rankings, so hopefully that happens. Everybody else is booked or starting to get booked. They said Arnold Allen might fight Lerone Murphy, that there are talks about. Yair (Rodriguez) might fight or the belt, and you've got everybody else fighting, so the only one guy that doesn't have a fight in the top 10 is Josh Emmett." Zalal really hopes to make the Emmett fight happen this year. He's not too happy with his current level of activity, but understands the politics side to the game. "I hope so – that's the goal," Zalal said when asked about a 2025 return. "It's more politics. Movsar (Evloev), I think, is the best guy in the division so far that deserves a title shot and hasn't gotten a title shot, and he's fighting a guy that's not even ranked, that's not even in the UFC. It's all about politics in this game. You go out there and do something crazy, it gives you attention."

Diamondbacks ban loyal season-ticket holder after repeated interference incidents

The Arizona Diamondbacks have finally had enough with one of their most loyal fans. Dave McCaskill is a season-ticket holder for his beloved D-Backs and owns an Advantage Membership account, which grants him access to specific events, early postseason ticket access and discounts throughout the ballpark. However, after being involved in yet another fan-interference dilemma, the Diamondbacks banned him for the remainder of the year and terminated his membership account. "This particular fan has been involved in multiple offenses at Chase Field…" the team said in a statement. "This fan will have the opportunity to return to Chase Field in 2026 so long as he meets certain terms and abides by our Fan Code of Conduct." McCaskill reached for a ball that was off the bat of San Francisco Giants third baseman Christian Koss. The ball just missed the outstretched glove of left fielder Tim Tawa. Center fielder Alek Thomas appeared to exchange words with McCaskill, who tossed the ball to Thomas. Thomas then tossed it back up. Koss was initially ruled out, but after review, he was awarded a double, and McCaskill was booted from the ballpark. Recent videos of McCaskill making plays on borderline home run balls resurfaced on social media shortly after the D-Backs' announcement. "I'm a D-Backs fan. I would never want to do anything to hurt the D-backs or to have them lose the game," McCaskill told Fox 10 Phoenix. However, he admitted to being "ejected three times." (He later corrected himself to "technically… twice.") "I caught the ball, came right down, and you see my glove hit the yellow, the top. So I think the ball would have bounced on top and gone over," McCaskill explained. Fans are not allowed to reach over the wall, or the imaginary line directly above it, to catch a ball. But, it is fair game once the ball crosses said imaginary line. Jomboy Media pointed out a total of four instances, with other social media accounts saying he's been involved in five such reviews. "What I can comment on is last night, the play happened, I want the play to play. I want the play to be played out… I want plays to be made by the players," Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said. McCaskill, according to the New York Post, said he has "followed" notorious ballhawk Zack Hample, who has garnered plenty of controversy throughout his game-attending days. Hample has caught over 10,000 baseballs. Follow Fox News Digital's sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
