He said
, 'The eras are different, some people say the 80s was the best era for basketball, while some people have said the 90s wasn't one of the greatest eras of basketball, then, 2000s, as the rules started changing, and coaching schemes started changing, when you say the game has evolved, has the game really evolved? and what does that mean when we say it has? What has changed and the guy who doesn't get credit for changing the game in this so-called evolution of the game, his name would be coach Mark Jackson.
'
Further he says,
'Let me tell you how Mark Jackson changed the game, because he saw a guy named Steph Curry, and a guy by the name Clay Thomson, and Mark Jackson as a coach made it acceptable for Steph Curry and Clay to shoot from that range, people shot from the range, but people didn't do it as part of their offensive scheme.'
Who were Isiah Thomas' best defenders?
Much talked about rivalries were shaped by good games and brilliant results, that made the player focus on different aspects of the game. 'As a defender, he doesn't get enough credit, when we talk about the greatest and best defenders that have ever played in the NBA, Chicago had two of them — Rodman and Scottie Pippen, Scottie was different, At his best, I may have to say that he and Rodman were the one-two best defenders to ever play the game. I want to give him his respect and his props. And then, as a facilitator, Scottie — he was the real deal.'

NFL: Cobee Bryant's cryptic post comparing Lamar Jackson to James Harden sparks fury among Baltimore Ravens fans
Cobee Bryant, a young rookie for the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL (National Football League), recently sparked debate with a mysterious post. The Snapchat post displayed an edited image merging two different identities, NFL's Lamar Jackson and NBA star player James Harden. This resulted in the creation of a buzz on social media as fans bashed Bryant. Bryant, who plays as a defensive back, shared a meme on Snapchat with a combined image of James Harden's face with the body of Lamar Jackson. While Lamar is a star quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens and is known for his agile running and passing skills, James is a basketball player famous for his scoring ability but is often criticized for underperforming in NBA playoffs. The post didn't mention any caption or an explicit explanation leading the fans to interpret Cobee Bryant's intention behind posting the image. The meme suggested that both athletes falter when it matters most, in the playoffs. While it might have been intended as a playful jab, many fans especially in Baltimore, found it disrespectful. Lamar Jackson is a beloved figure in Baltimore, having won two NFL MVP awards for his outstanding performances. However, his team, the Baltimore Ravens, has faced criticism for not advancing far in the NFL playoffs, leading some to unfairly pin the blame on Jackson. Similarly, James Harden, despite being a basketball superstar, has faced scrutiny for his teams' playoff losses. By linking the two, Bryant's meme touched a nerve, especially among Ravens fans. Baltimore Ravens passionate fans took to social media, particularly X, to express their anger. Many called out Bryant for being a rookie who hasn't proven himself yet. While Some fans saw it as a playful jab others highly opposed the decision. However, some netizens backed Bryant and extended support with comments in writing comments in his favour.

NBA Legend expresses skepticism about Memphis Grizzlies centre Zach Edey's hype post the regular season
Gilbert Arenas. Photo by Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images Memphis Grizzlies centre player Zach Edey ended his performance in the 2025 regular season of the NBA with an average of 9 points, 8 rebounds and 1 assist. The 23-year-old player has been making the headlines recently, owing to his performance that has turned heads and led to predictions of a glorious prospect for his future within the league. However, former Grizzlies player and NBA legend Gilbert Arenas is of a different opinion, which reflects his skepticism about the predictions made by the sports analysts. Gilbert Arenas explains his metrics to judge a rookie's achievement and capabilities, negates the player's possible development in the NBA In a recent episode of Gil's Arena, former basketball player Gilbert Arenas opened up on his opinions about Zach Edey's ongoing speculations and future predictions by the sports analysts of the game. While experts have commented on the ability of the player despite his young age and affirmed that there is enough time for the rookie player to develop his skills, Gilbert is of a different opinion. 'A rookie is a rookie. Either you are going to be a rookie at 26 and you are going to learn in the NBA or you are gonna learn it at 19. Either way it's your first day at the job.' Gilbert has a different set of definitions that defines the capabilities of the players within the court. While the average stat of Edey in the recent season, which stands at 9 points and 8 rebounds, is fine for a rookie player, it is not the same for someone of the young prospect's age. '9 and 8 for a 23-year-old isn't impressive. For a rookie, yeah it is. But for a 23-year-old, that not what they are looking at.' Gilbert continued, 'You are not on the same value. Like if you look the 19-year-old, the 18-year-old, that was a second round pick, that's in front of him, had more votes than him.' Gilbert Arenas STILL Isn't SOLD On The Zach Edey Hype The name of Memphis Grizzlies' power forward Jaylen Wells came up, who is younger to Edey and had an average of 10 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Wells was placed on a higher position than Edey on the KIA NBA All-Rookie Team voting results, even though Edey had better stats. Gilbert defended the listicle's purpose of listing out probable star players rather than observing who put on a more solid performance throughout the season. His comparison metrics are based on the age of the player. Gilbert analyses the fact that if Edey scored an average of 9 throughout the season at the age of 23, what would be the other young athlete's score when they are at the age of 23. Also read: LeBron James is not a fan of Bronny and Bryce James' basketball upbringing as he recalled his own journey to become an NBA legend Gilbert seems to be focusing more on the data and past records of rookies in the NBA. He doesn't leave much space for argument within his statements, which completely negates the fact that even though a player starts late, he always has the time to hone skills and emerge as a capable one, improving the average of oneself.

Carmelo Anthony spilled beans on weirdest reason why Larry Brown suspended LeBron James, Allen Iverson and Amar'e Stoudemire just before Olympics
Carmelo Anthony. Image via: Jean Catuffe/ Getty Images Carmelo Anthony recently opened up about the unexpected discipline handed down by coach Larry Brown just before the 2004 Olympics. It was indeed a stunning revelation that pulls back the curtain on one of Team USA's most talked-about Olympic moments. Speaking candidly on the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast, Anthony explained how LeBron James , Allen Iverson, and Amar'e Stoudemire were suspended over something as bizarre as showing up a little early, not late (point to be noted), to a scheduled team meeting. Carmelo Anthony revealed why Larry Brown suspended LeBron James, Allen Iverson, and Amar'e Stoudemire before the 2004 Olympics Carmelo Anthony candidly recalls the chaotic environment leading up to the 2004 Athens Olympics. The NBA icon described how things got real when, before a scrimmage against Puerto Rico in Jacksonville, three of the team's biggest names were told they wouldn't be playing. 'The minute I knew what type of environment that was going to be was when they got suspended in Florida,' Anthony said. 'Say there's a meeting at 2:00 p.m. Okay. You get there at 1:57. The meeting starts at 1:55, right? Now you get suspended.' Why Larry Brown Suspended Lebron James & Amar'e Stoudemire Despite arriving before the scheduled meeting time, the early start and razor-thin expectations created confusion. According to Anthony, this wasn't just about a timing mistake; rather, it was a power play to assert control over a team packed with big personalities and future legends. Brown, who had spent years managing the volatile but brilliant Allen Iverson in Philadelphia, appeared to have reached his limit. As Anthony explained, 'Larry don't want to deal with that [expletive] with Allen no more. He just dealt with it for six years.' So when Iverson, along with the young and rising Amar'e Stoudemire and LeBron James, were present just a few minutes before the set time, Brown chose to make an example of them. 'It wasn't a casualty of war. It was setting the tone,' Melo said. 'AI, you the guy… you leading Amari who's a young guy… you also leading LeBron James. I got to set the tone and let LeBron know that's not allowed.' For many, it seemed petty at first, but Anthony realized it was all about asserting leadership and making sure the rookies, especially LeBron, weren't influenced the wrong way. Even after the suspension, the 'Young Guns,' as the crowd eventually called them, made a mark overseas. 'We get to Turkey… the crowd is yelling Young Guns in the crowd,' Carmelo remembered proudly.
