Green Edge Computing Corp (GECCO) and Capzul Technologies Launch End-to-End Cybersecurity on Rugged Edge Computing Appliance
VICTORIA, BC / / June 1, 2025 / Green Edge Computing Corp (GECCO) and Capzul Technologies today announced a strategic partnership whereby Capzul Technologies can now deliver their hack-proof end-to-end cybersecurity solution Capzul Connect and Capzul Front End on the GECCO EdgePodTM Edge Computing Appliance.
Capzul Technologies enjoys a strong market position in the challenging cybersecurity space pioneering a strategy that eliminates the external attack surface, thereby forging networks that are invulnerable to cybercriminal intrusions within your network ecosystem. Adding the GECCO EdgePod to the Capzul portfolio is a strategic step to offer enhanced computational capabilities in support of hybrid cloud, artificial intelligence, advanced automation, and other applications that demand impervious connectivity.
The GECCO EdgePod is a miniaturized data center, and delivers a physically secure multi-server computing platform designed to operate in adverse environmental conditions that are common at the edge, where computer rooms, telecom closets, or air-conditioned enclosures are not available. Offering a much smaller physical and environmental footprint compared to conventional IT systems, the EdgePod supports intense computing for agentic AI inferencing, AR/VR, digital twin, enterprise productivity & operational applications, hardware agnostic control algorithms, and many other advanced systems.
"Making all your computing appliances resilient to cybersecurity threats is of paramount concern as the need for edge computing accelerates," said Guy Paterson, COO of Capzul Technologies. "The GECCO EdgePod is a physically secure, scalable and rugged platform that is an ideal fit for our system. The unique approach taken by GECCO makes them a key technology partner for us."
The need to deliver secure edge computing has never been greater, as the volume of data created, stored and processed on the edge (outside conventional data centers) continues to grow at unprecedented rates. "We are thrilled to welcome Capzul Technologies to the EdgePod ecosystem, as the demand has never been greater for advanced computing outside of conventional data centres," according to Rudi Carolsfeld, CoFounder and Chief Revenue Officer of GECCO. "There is an urgent need to eliminate exposure to cyber threats so that data sovereignty, data privacy, and data integrity can be assured. Our partnership with Capzul Technologies leads the industry offering the highest levels of trusted security for advanced data processing in infrastructure, industrial, telecom, healthcare and many other fields."
Capzul Technologies and GECCO will be demonstrating their solution at InfoSecurity Europe, 3-5 June 2025 in London UK. The Capzul Challenge carries a prize of £25,000 if any attendee can hack into the state-of-the-art, no-external-attack-zone server.

FBI Warning—If You Ever See This QR Code, It's An Attack
QR codes are everywhere. Whether paying for parking, opening a menu or connecting to WiFi, pointing your camera at a code and opening a link is now the norm. But the FBI warns one type of QR code is high-risk and you must always avoid. QR code attacks are not new. We have malicious codes included in phishing PDF files to bypass security filters, printed and stuck to parking meters, even sent in the mail. The latest scam is just as simple. And it all starts with a delivery at your home. Criminals are sending 'unsolicited packages,' the bureau says, which contain a QR code 'that prompts the recipient to provide personal and financial information or unwittingly download malicious software that steals data from their phone.' if you receive an unexpected package with no sender details and a QR code, it's one of these attacks. To trick you into scanning the code, 'the criminals often ship the packages without sender information.' The FBI says this is similar to 'brushing scams,' where you're sent a product you didn't order, enabling a criminal to post an online review on your behalf. There are many reasons to 'beware of unsolicited packages containing merchandise you did not order,' but you'll be tempted to open the package given it will have your address. But 'do not scan QR codes from unknown origins,: the FBI says. And 'beware of packages that do not include sender information.' QR codes look benign but they're not. Zimperium's Nico Chiaraviglio warns that research shows that attackers are increasingly leveraging multiple mobile-specific channels—including SMS, email, QR codes, and voice phishing (vishing) — to exploit user behaviors and expand their attack surface.' This latest FBI warning comes just as citizens are told voice message attacks impersonating well-known individuals to entice engagement are also surging. And we have seen countless SMS warnings over the last 12-months (1,2,3) 'If you believe you are the target of a brushing scam,' the FBI says you should 'secure your online presence by changing account profiles and request a free credit report from one or all the national credit reporting agencies.'

Trump Turns His Back on Venezuela
President Trump made his latest tax increases permanent on Friday with the announcement of tariff hikes on imports from countries that didn't negotiate a deal with the administration since April 2—aka Liberation Day. Mexico got a 90-day reprieve from a new 'reciprocal tariff' schedule while negotiations continue. But American importers of noncompliant U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement exports already pay a 25% tariff, up from less than 3% before Mr. Trump's return. And final-assembled USMCA-compliant autos pay an effective 15% rate, up from zero.
