The opening of the Tales restaurant marks the completion of the final phase of refurbishments.
We told in January how the hotel shut its doors for a "complete makeover".
The popular wedding venue is famed for its links to Robert Burns - featuring in one of his most celebrated poems, Tam O'Shanter.
Dating back to Medieval times, the hotel is situated by the banks of the River Doon and falls within the Burns Monument Conservation Area.
It was built in 1829 as a Traveller's Inn, and has seen various owners over the years.
In 2022, it was bought over by the Cumnock-based RAD Hotel Group.
The family-owned property has undergone extensive renovations, including this final phase that includes a newly built wraparound extension.
The new extension houses Tales, a lounge bar and private dining room, and elevated public spaces - inspired by Scottish folklore.
The final revamp phase completes earlier refurbishments to the hotel's grand ballroom, luxurious bedrooms and new stunning suites.
Tales will be open seven days a week from noon until 10pm offering seasonal Scottish cuisine, and sweeping views of the iconic River Doon and gardens below.
Inside Fraser Suites Edinburgh
The name and concept are rooted in the poetic legacy of Robert Burns, who famously penned many of his greatest works just steps from the hotel on the iconic Brig o' Doon bridge.
As guests enter the hotel, they will be greeted into a new lounge, complete with a bespoke marble bar and cosy lounge seating.
There is an intimate private dining room for up to 24 guests, ideal for quiet celebrations or pre-dinner gatherings or semi private spaces with picturesque views seating up to 16.
Beyond the lounge, there is a 80-cover romantic dining space.
Storytelling is featured throughout with local art adorning the walls, and a hand-painted Tam O' Shanter mural by artist Roderick McKenzie.
A year-round outdoor terrace completes the scene, offering the perfect spot for summer drinks or alfresco dining.

Co-owner of RAD Hotel Group, Vivien Kyle said: "I wanted Tales to feel like stepping into a storybook.
"Something rooted in heritage but filled with imagination."
"Each space feels like its own chapter, from the cosy booths to the visual anchor of the riverside views.
"The palette, textures, and layout are all about creating little moments of magic."
On the menu, Tales offers up locally-sourced seasonal Scottish flavours and comfort-led classic dishes.
Diners can expect standout mains like individual Scotch Beef Wellingtons served with maple-glazed carrots and fondant potatoes, Seared Monkfish and King Prawn Curry with mango madras and coriander rice, or the Highlander Fries loaded with haggis and peppercorn sauce.
Starters include a signature Scotch Egg wrapped in haggis and sausage, fresh mussels of the day, or modern Crab Tacos with lime mayo.
Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy showstoppers like Limoncello Crème Brûlée and the dreamy Triple Chocolate Pavlova.
An imaginative cocktail list and extensive wine and whisky menus complement the story-driven experience.
Following its final transformation, the hotel now offers 14 beautifully appointed bedrooms, including eight new River Suites with private balconies overlooking the river and landscaped gardens.
The refurbishment also includes an enhanced function suite and a newly created wraparound outdoor terrace.

The Fortune Hotel Season 2: release schedule, eliminations and where to watch
ITV competition show The Fortune Hotel is in full season 2 swing, with 11 pairs of contestants battling it out to find a briefcase stuffed with a £250,000 prize. Hot off the heels of BBC show The Traitors, in eight episodes players must work out which pair has the winning briefcase, and the goal is to end up with it at the end of the show. Daily challenges decide what order players can either keep or swap their briefcases, with the quarter of a mill secretly changing hands throughout the series. Eight briefcases are empty, while the ninth has an 'early checkout card' – which eliminates players landed with it at the end of each episode. Presenter Stephen Mangan told Metro how the show can be pretty savage, as winning requires contestants to lie and cheat. 'It's really difficult to brutally pull the plug on another pair and send them home, but you have to do it,' he explained. The series began with 11 pairs of contestants who know each other in some capacity, much like Race Across The World's format. Hoping for a chance to win were best friends Maz and Max; fellow besties Chelsey and Briony; father and son Atholl and John; brothers Jake and Mike; couple Allan and Jacob; couple Nella and Tope, partners Fred and Min; mum and daughter Martina and Briony; friends Gurk and Guv; and dad and daughter James and Yasmine. Players come from all walks of life, with jobs ranging from tech to cleaning, and retirees are also having a stab. Last week's episode ended on a cliffhanger – spoiler ahead – as with the introduction of a second early check-out card, both Fred and Min and Allan and Jacob seemed to be at risk. However host Stephen revealed only one of the pairs would be going home – as voted for by their other contestants, ouch . Tonight revealed Maz and Max sent home Allan and Jacob through tears, leaving them 'gutted'. So far other eliminated contestants include cleaning business owners Briony and Chelsey; retired police officer Atholl and son John from the Scottish borders; Wigan-born brothers Mike and Jake; and salesman Guv and poker player Gurks. Episodes are airing weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Episode 1 – Wednesday August 6 at 9pm (out now) Episode 2 – Thursday August 7 at 9pm (out now) Episode 3 – Wednesday August 13 at 9pm (out now) Episode 4 – Thursday August 14 at 9pm (out now) Episode 5 – Wednesday August 20 at 9pm (out now) Episode 6 – Thursday August 21 at 9pm Episode 7 – Wednesday August 27 at 9pm Episode 8 – ThursdayAugust 28 at 9pm The Fortune Hotel airs on ITV1 and ITVX. Once the episodes have aired they are available on the streamer. Got a story? Locals baffled by huge ‘zebra' ship sailing along the Scottish coast
The barge has been spotted off the coast of Fife in recent days Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LOCALS have been left baffled after a 'zebra ship' sailed along the Scottish coast. The unusual barge has now docked at Babcock Rosyth yard in Fife - but has nothing to do with its lookalike animal. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 The 'zebra ship' Sans Vitesse vessel anchored at Rosyth dockyard Credit: Andrew Barr The ship, which stands out due to its zebra stripe pattern, is called the Sans Vitesse. The barge is used for accommodation and will house Navy personnel while the HMS Queen Elizabeth undergoes planned maintenance at Rosyth Dockyard. However, not all of the crew will be staying on the ship. Those on the Sans Vitesse will solely be the duty watch who need to be close to the ship. The rest of the crew will be staying on the HMS Caledonia. A Royal Navy spokesperson said: "When ships go into refit periods there are occasions when it becomes necessary to source alternative temporary accommodation for some of the ship's company. "The health and wellbeing of our people remain paramount, and we make sure that accommodation is suitable and meets our standards, which this accommodation has. "The Sans Vitesse will provide suitable accommodation for our personnel while HMS Queen Elizabeth undergoes planned maintenance in Rosyth." Graeme Downie, the MP for Dunfermline and Dollar, added: "I have spoken to ministers over the past few days, and they have assured me the accommodation on Sans Vitesse is of the highest quality and suitable for personnel from HMS Queen Elizabeth while the ship is docked at Rosyth. I met husband on stranded cruise ship & got married after just four months – now we LIVE on board but there's surprising downsides 'However, I think we must also see work to upgrade and modernise HMS Caledonia to ensure the base is fit for purpose and has the facilities and services to accommodate personnel in the future and I will be pressing ministers and the Royal Navy further on this matter." HMS Queen Elizabeth has left Portsmouth as it makes it way to Rosyth where it will spend around seven months in dry dock. Essential sea trials are to be carried out before its arrival which will involve tests on the newly-installed navigation and propulsion control systems. The Royal Navy says the ship is currently undergoing the equivalent of a car MOT at the end of a busy six years, which included a major global deployment to the Indo-Pacific in 2021 and leading NATO operations across European waters. The first nine months of the overhaul has seen HMS Queen Elizabeth undergo engineering work in Portsmouth and the ship's company conduct essential training to be ready for sea trials – as well as development courses for sailors and officers. The second phase over the coming months will see the aircraft carrier placed in dry dock at the Babcock Dockyard which will provide the opportunity to inspect and improve systems inaccessible when the ship is afloat.

Fundraiser launched for volunteers who found body of comedian in mountains
The family of Scottish comedian Gary Little have launched a fundraiser for the volunteers who found his body in the Highlands on Friday. Little had been hillwalking on Five Sisters of Kintail in the Highlands when he failed to return home. His body was later recovered by Kintail Mountain Rescue, assisted by Glenelg Mountain Rescue Team, Police Scotland and the Coastguard. Police confirmed that the death was being treated as 'unexplained, but not suspicious'. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course. The 61-year-old was a regular at comedy clubs in Scotland as well as the Edinburgh Fringe and Glasgow International Comedy Festival. Following the news of Little's death, tributes poured in on social media from comedy clubs and comedians alike, highlighting his comedic skill and 'joy he brought to the world'. His sisters, Lorraine, Alison, Karen, and Claire, have launched a fundraiser for Kintail Mountain Rescue in honour of their late brother, who they described as an 'avid mountain walker'. So far, £2,160 has been raised. The GoFundMe read: 'As a family we are so very grateful that the volunteers from Kintail Mountain Rescue stayed with him until the help of HMCG Helicopter from Stornaway arrived and this comforts us knowing 'the big man was not alone'. 'As an avid mountain walker Gary was appreciative of the work these volunteer based organizations done and how valuable they are so any donation would be extremely appreciated. 'Thank you from his sisters, Lorraine, Alison, Karen and Claire.' You can donate to the fundraiser here.
