A teenage boy was sent to hospital with serious injuries Saturday night after being stabbed 'a number of times' in Vancouver's Dunbar neighbourhood, according to police.
The Vancouver Police Department said the 'violent confrontation' unfolded around 8 p.m. at West 16th Avenue and Wallace Street.
The 16-year-old victim's injuries are not life-threatening, according to the VPD.
The suspect, another teenager, left the area before police arrived but was later arrested at his home.
'Police believe the victim and suspect knew each other,' reads a Sunday news release. 'The file remains under investigation.'
Police say the suspect is next due to appear in court on Aug. 21, and Crown has not yet approved charges.
