Fans Call Bindi Irwin a 'Warrior' as She Shares Update from Hospital
Bindi Irwin is recovering from emergency surgery, but she took a moment to give her fans an update and thank them for their support.
Bindi, her brother Robert, and their mom Terri traveled from Australia to Las Vegas to attend the Steve Irwin Gala. But Bindi's plans to honor her father's legacy were sidelined when she was forced to undergo an emergency appendectomy. The conservationist updated her fans, and the procedure turned out to be more extensive than anticipated.
Bindi gave an update just an hour after surgery, saying, "Hey, guys! Bindi here. I just wanted to thank you for your incredible well-wishes. I just got out of surgery about an hour ago. I had my appendix removed. I also had 14 new endometriosis legions that had to be removed, and they kindly stitched up my hernia as well." She continued to thank the doctors and the entire team that worked on her. She said, "I'm sorry if I'm a little out of it in this video, but I wanted to let you know that I am on the road to recovery, one step at a time, and I'm so lucky to have so much love in my life from my family."
Bindi explained in her lengthy caption that, after consulting with her doctor, she decided to fly from Las Vegas to New York for the procedure. She wrote, "I appreciate all the kind messages I've received, and the support for our Gala in Las Vegas. Credit to Robert for hosting the evening, he did such an incredible job raising funds and awareness for Wildlife Warriors. And thanks to my family for always being there for me. I have so much love for dear Chandler & sweet Grace. Thank you to Mum for being there with me every step of the way. And rest assured, I'll see you at the next Steve Irwin Gala in Brisbane this November. One day at a time. Time to heal now. Sending my love to you all."
Bindi has been an advocate for women's health and endometriosis since she had 37 legions and a cyst removed in 2023.
Her fans flooded the comments section with support and love, sharing messages like "A warrior in every sense. Love you friend ❤️" and "Always inspired and in awe of your strength and bravery! Love you sweet Bindi, sending you love and hugs! ❤️"
We join them in sending our wishes for a speedy recovery!

Daniella Karagach Compares Robert Irwin to This Previous 'DWTS' Contestant Who 'Won Everyone's Hearts' (Exclusive)
Daniella Karagach has big hopes for Robert Irwin on this season of Dancing with the Stars The pro tells PEOPLE she's "sure he's going to be in the finals," and that he's going to have some major help as people are going to "fall in love with him" She also compares Irwin, 21, to another young celebrity contestant from last season who she says was "America's sweetheart"Robert Irwin is going to steal the people's hearts on Dancing with the Stars this season. At least, that's what Daniella Karagach is predicting. The 21-year-old Aussie, who was the first celebrity contestant confirmed for DWTS season 34, is "very sweet," Karagach tells PEOPLE, so much so that he reminds her of another young sweetheart contestant from last season. "I think he's great. I think he's exactly like Stephen [Nedoroscik]," she says. "He's America's sweetheart. People loved Stephen — he just won everyone's hearts, [he's] so, so kind. And I feel like Robert gives that same energy." Calling Irwin "very family-oriented" and "humble," Karagach, 32, says he's "just a good guy," which is why he reminded her of Nedoroscik, 26. "I think people are going to fall in love with him," she says of Irwin, who she predicts will make it to the championships this season. "He's going to do [well]. I mean, I'm sure he's going to be in the finals," she says. What gives her such faith in the conservationist? "I just feel like personality and popularity plays such a big part, so even if you're not the best dancer, I feel like if you're popular enough and people support you, you'll go really far," she says. Robert is following in his older sister Bindi's footsteps six years later as he joins this season of DWTS. Bindi competed with Derek Hough in 2015 and took home the mirrorball trophy, but Robert told PEOPLE there's "no sibling rivalry" between them. "It's actually really nice. She has just said, 'Go into this and make it your own.' She said it's going to be a completely different experience." "I'm definitely going to be leaning on her a lot, as I have throughout my entire life, to be honest,' he said. 'I think loss brings a family together like nothing else, and for us, for Bindi and myself, we've always had each other's backs through everything, and this is going to be no different. I feel very lucky that I've got her in my corner.' He also recalled cheering his older sister on in the ballroom as a "little 11-year-old kid with my little blonde bowl cut" when she competed a decade ago. 'Now Bindi is going to be there supporting me, and she'll have a lot more dance wisdom than 11-year-old Robert," he said. "I didn't have much to bring to the table, but she does. She's done it. She's won it!" Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Bindi Irwin's daughter Grace Warrior is soaking up the summer sun stateside — and she couldn't look cuter! The 4-year-old was a summer princess on an adventure with her uncle Robert Irwin, and we are obsessed with her new sundress. 'Enjoying a well needed rest with my people,' the wildlife conservationist wrote on Instagram recently. 'And having the realisation that I'm always leaning in photos.' More from SheKnows Elon Musk Claims One of His 14 Children Was the Culprit of His Mysterious Black Eye Robert shared pictures of him galivanting around Disneyland and in Oregon, where his and Bindi's mom Terri Irwin is from. Skip to slide 8 to see his adorable niece. In it, Robert smiles with Grace as they sit on a park ride together. She is absolutely adorable in a colorful floral sundress with high socks and sneakers. A tiny straw hat protects her eyes from the sun and completes the adorable 'fit. She looks royal — even holding one hand up in the air in a wave that would have made Queen Elizabeth proud! Grace is definitely in her princess era right now. Earlier this week, Bindi shared a video on the Australia Zoo YouTube Channel, featuring her, her husband Chandler Powell, and their daughter on a road trip around Australia's east coast. In it, the little girl pretended to be Elsa on a walk to the beach, later insisting she was Ariel from The Little Mermaid. At one point on the road trip, she became princess Jasmine, dancing around her palace. But princesses aren't the toddler's only obsession. Like many kids, she also loves Halloween! Robert shared a video of his niece in March, where the duo performed a Halloween dance together. 'Grace and I came up with a spooky Halloween dance,' he captioned the post. 'We are both aware that Halloween isn't for another 7 months but Grace is in her Halloween era, and I'm here for it 😎' She is a toddler of many interests, and her uncle clearly supports them of SheKnows 19 Celebrity Parents With Trans & Nonbinary Kids 20 of Serena Williams' Most Adorable Motherhood Moments 30+ Baby Names With Ivy League Vibes — No Degree Required

Downton Abbey fans 'work out' finale's plot after spotting clue in first trailer
Fans of the beloved television and film franchise Downton Abbey have apparently worked out the plot for the finale after spotting a major clue in the first trailer for the film. Universal Pictures uploaded a new trailer to their official YouTube channel, prompting a number of fans to express how emotional they are about the arrival of The Grand Finale. Taking to the comments, one person said: "This made me weep," adding that they will miss Maggie Smith while watching the movie. Others on YouTube were quick to welcome the film, with one person writing: "So excited." Other fans took to the Downton Abbey Reddit to discuss the trailer, with one person spotting a major clue. Responding to another user on the forum, the viewer said: "The fact that nobody else is wearing hats indicates that Robert and Cora are returning, rather than everyone leaving. "I reckon it might be a situation in which Harold has lost everything, Robert and Cora go to pick him up, but Downton is safe due to some kind of wise investment?" Another person wrote: "Very proud that, by the end of the series, the community has successfully figured out the plot of the finale by clocking that some characters weren't wearing hats."
