TMC's Mahua Moitra shares video dancing with Pinaki Misra in wedding sneak peek
Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra shared a video on social media, which was since gone viral, showing her dancing with her husband Pinaki Misra during their private ceremony in Germany.
In the video, Mahua Moitra and former BJD MP Pinaki Misra were seen dancing together, after their wedding ceremony which took place in Germany on May 30.

Pinaki Misra is a senior leader of the Biju Janata Dal and has represented the Puri constituency in Odisha. He was previously married to Sangeeta Misra, with whom he has two children.

Mahua Moitra, TMC's MP from the Krishnanagar seat in West Bengal, was formerly an investment banker and since her electoral debut in 2019 has been elected to parliament twice. Moitra was previously married to Danish financier Lars Brorson.

Moitra announced her marriage with Pinaki Misra on social media, with the caption, 'Thank you everyone for the love and good wishes!! So grateful.'
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor congratulated Mahua Moitra and Pinaki Misra on their marriage and said in a post on X, 'Wishing my good friends and colleagues, Mahua Moitra and Pinaki Misra, all happiness as they embark on married life together. May they enjoy the blessings of the heavens for a long and blissful married life.'

Punjab: Echoes of freedom fade as Hussainiwala light & sound show stalls post flood
The iconic light and sound show at the National Martyrs Memorial in Hussainiwala has remained non-operational for nearly 22 months, leaving visitors and locals disheartened. Launched in November 2021 under the central government's Swadesh Darshan initiative, the 41-minute audio-visual production, costing ₹5.7 crore, aimed to honour freedom fighters, like Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. The show used state-of-the-art projections and sound to narrate the story of India's independence struggle, drawing tourists from across Punjab and beyond. 'Initially a daily feature, the show came to an abrupt halt in August 2023 when monsoon-driven flooding from the Sutlej river severely impacted the venue. Essential hardware, particularly five high-powered projectors crucial for the presentation, suffered significant damage,' said Ashish Sharma, an advocate. Meanwhile, an official familiar with the matter stated three of the five projectors are beyond repair and require expert evaluation to determine if replacements can be sourced. The project was managed by Tricolor India Schauspiel Pvt Ltd which signed a five-year maintenance contract. However, the company declined to cover repair expenses, citing the flood as a natural disaster not covered under its obligations. 'Neither the authorities nor the firm has taken concrete steps toward restoration,' said former Congress MLA Parminder Singh Pinki. 'It's unfortunate that it lies neglected,' he added. The silence at the memorial has disappointed the increasing number of summer tourists. 'We travelled from Ludhiana to experience this show but found only silence,' said Rajeev Sharma, a visitor. 'Once a magnet for visitors, the show highlighted the sacrifices of revolutionaries including BK Dutt, Chandra Shekhar Azad and Lala Lajpat Rai. Reviving the attraction would not only boost tourism but also serve as an educational legacy for future generations,' quoted Gurtej Singh Koharwala, an educationist. Ferozepur deputy commissioner Deepshikha Sharma claimed that the Punjab tourism department was in the process of getting it operational. State tourism director Sanjeev Tiwari, when contacted, acknowledged the issue and promised prompt intervention to resolve the matter swiftly.

From sarcastic memes to animated clips, the page has used humour to mock Arora's campaign promises and public appearances. Apart from these, several other pages, like 'Fan Ashu De', have emerged, seemingly in support of individual candidates. But even these often engage in subtle digs at the opposition, blurring the line between support and attack. What makes this digital battle even more compelling is the level of creativity—some videos are crafted with high production quality, complete with voice-overs, graphics, and punch lines that reflect the online community's flair for satire. These viral clips and memes are being widely shared across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, especially among younger voters. While some view it as harmless fun or modern-day political commentary, others worry that such content may lead to misinformation or character assassination.

Rajesh Khanna recalled he ‘couldn't say no' to Rajiv Gandhi's smile when he asked him to contest elections: ‘Ab aur kya filmein karni hain, bahut hogaya'
Late actor-politician Rajesh Khanna shared a close relationship with former PM, late Rajiv Gandhi. After doing over 170 films in Hindi cinema, Khanna shifted his focus towards politics and even campaigned for the Indian National Congress in 1984. Moreover, it was his friend and former PM Rajiv Gandhi, who encouraged him to contest for his party in Rajya Sabha elections. In an old interview, the Anand actor revealed that Rajiv Gandhi insisted him to fight the elections and he couldn't turn him down because of his smile. However, he pulled his guard up when the party asked him to contest again for Lok Sabha. During a conversation with Lehren Retro, Rajesh Khanna shared that he refused to contest initially. He said, 'After Indira Gandhi ji passed away and there was a tight friendship between me and Rajiv ji, I used to campaign for Congress in every election. Then one day, he asked me to contest the election. I told him ki hum doosri biraadari se hain (our fraternity is a bit different). This is not our work.' I felt that I've already done so much work, ab aur kya filmein karni hain? Bahut ho gaya,' he recalled. However, Khanna didn't have any greed for political position and power, hence decided to take a step backwards. 'For the next election for Lok Sabha, my high command asked me to contest again. But, I denied, because Lok Sabha is not our cup of tea. But, if you think I can be of any use for our country in Rajya Sabha, I am more than happy to be there. I have to serve the Congress, I don't care about any position or power,' he said. Rajesh Khanna won the 1992 by-election for Congress from the New Delhi constituency, retaining his seat until 1996 after which he wasn't keen about active politics.
