Renowned rapper and songwriter Sooraj Cherukat, known professionally as Hanumankind, has revealed that he has lent his voice to director H Vinoth's upcoming political action thriller, Jana Nayagan. In the news since its announcement for being 'Thalapathy' Vijay's final film before his retirement, following which he would set his complete focus on politics and his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), Jana Nayagan is one of the most anticipated Indian movies at the moment.
'I have rendered a great rap song for Thalapathy Vijay in Jana Nayagan, composed by Anirudh (Ravichander),' Hanumankind said during a chat with Ananda Vikatan. Although he did not disclose further details about the track, with his involvement, the hype for Jana Nayagan is expected to go up further. Aamir Khan recalls nearly collaborating with Mani Ratnam on an adaptation of Ismat Chughtai's short story: ‘I still hope that one day…'
Despite being two of the most celebrated figures in contemporary Indian cinema and sharing a warm bond, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and acclaimed filmmaker Mani Ratnam have never collaborated to date. Although they have met on numerous occasions and even discussed potential projects, things never quite materialised as they had hoped. Recently, Aamir opened up about a time they nearly worked together, having zeroed in on a story, but the project fell through at the last moment. In a recent interview, he revealed that they were keen on adapting legendary Indian Urdu writer Ismat Chughtai's short story Gharwali (The Homewife) into a film centred around its protagonist, Lajjo. 'I have always been a huge fan of Mani Ratnam and always wanted to work with him. I've met him many times as well. I've been to his house, and we've had wonderful conversations. Both of us have wanted to work with each other. We almost worked together in Lajjo. But that didn't work out for three reasons; it had nothing to do with him or me,' he shared during a chat with Galatta Plus. Praising Mani Ratnam, Aamir added, 'I'm a very big admirer of his work. I still hope that one day, he and I will work together.' Also Read | Aamir Khan calls Sitaare Zameen Par's release 'ill-timed', expresses concern about its box office performance: 'I'm stressed only action films are working' After a three-year hiatus, Aamir Khan is all set to make his grand comeback to cinema through director RS Prasanna's Sitaare Zameen Par. A spiritual successor to the actor's Taare Zameen Par, which also marked his directorial debut, Sitaare Zameen Par is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit. It also features Genelia Deshmukh, Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishnan Varma, Vedant Sharmaa, Naman Misra and Rishi Shahani in key roles. Aamir was last seen in director Advait Chandan's critical and commercial failure Laal Singh Chaddha (2022), a remake of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump. Mani Ratnam is currently facing significant backlash following the release of his latest film, the Kamal Haasan-starrer Thug Life, which opened to negative responses from the audience. Also starring Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan and Abhirami, the movie marked Mani and Kamal's first movie collaboration in 37 years since Nayakan (1987).

Shocking! Anurag Kashyap blasts Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos for this reason, says 'Always knew tech guys are dumb but...'
Sarandos touched upon the timing of the show's launch: 'If I did it all over again, would I have done Sacred Games a couple of years later, maybe.' read more Anurag Kashyap revolutionized the OTT space with the iconic Sacred Games back in 2018 also directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. The series starred Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, along with Radhika Apte and Kubbra Sait. However, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos said in an interview he is unsure if starting the programming of the streaming giant with this show was the right idea. Kashyap isn't pleased. In fact, he has severely criticized his comments in his statement that reads- 'He should have started with Saas Bahu .. he would have done well. Which he is doing now Z I always knew the tech guys are dumb when it comes to story telling but tedsarandos is the definition of dumb is what I didn't know . Good to discover that. This explains everything now.' STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD What Ted said Our very first Indian original show was Sacred Games. And I thought, 'This is going to be great. People in India love movies. This is a TV show that feels as big as a movie, it has movie stars.' What's interesting about it is that it was very, very novel, but what I didn't understand that we were introducing a brand new kind of entertainment in a country the size of India. At the time, India's television landscape was largely defined by sports, talk shows, and family dramas - very different from the cinematic format Netflix was offering. 'There was nothing else like it,' he reflected, highlighting the difference between existing formats and the kind of 'cinema-infused television' Netflix was producing globally. Sarandos also touched upon the timing of the show's launch: 'If I did it all over again, would I have done Sacred Games a couple of years later, maybe.'
