Heated exchanges at Lord's were fun, says England's Brook
Tension flared between the teams during the match, with India captain Shubman Gill sarcastically clapping England batters over delays, and Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj roaring in the face of England opener Ben Duckett after taking his wicket.
Brook said England decided to respond in kind after the visitors' heated verbal exchanges with Duckett and Zak Crawley when England faced a single over from Jasprit Bumrah at the end of the third day.
'We had a little chat and we thought, we're a team so we may as well get together and give it back at them,' Brook told reporters on Monday.
'It put them under a little bit more pressure.'
'I've had a lot of compliments. Everybody said it was awesome to watch. It looked like it was 11 versus two out there while we were fielding. It was good fun… it was tiring but it made fielding a lot more enjoyable,' he said.
Brook, who scored a century in the second Test after missing out on a ton by one run in the first, said the hardfought series was far from over, with the fourth match starting at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
'India are such a good side, they can bounce back at any stage… every game we've played so far has gone into the last hour of the game, which you don't see very often,' he said.
'I've had a lot of people come up to me and say, this is a great series… and everybody said that the Lord's game was one of the best that they have ever watched.'

PCB rejects Legends League boycott
The proposal to boycott the Legends League final has been rejected. During the PCB Governing Board meeting, it was decided to uphold the policy of keeping politics out of sports. After forfeiting the first match, they should not have been awarded any points, but the organisers gave them one point to help them reach the semi-finals. Since the name "Pakistan Champions" includes the country's name, members argued that Pakistan should have the final say in such matters. However, Zaheer Abbas and several other members advised against boycotting the final, saying that Pakistan has never politicised sports and should maintain that stance. All members gave Mohsin Naqvi the authority to make the final decision, expressing confidence in his leadership following the successful handling of the recent ACC meeting. Most members agreed that the team should play the final, but future decisions about this event will be made solely by the PCB Governing Board. The board members also congratulated Naqvi on the successful hosting of the ACC meeting, to which he responded by crediting teamwork for the achievement.

T20I series featuring Pakistan, Afghanistan, UAE to begin later this month
Pakistan will feature in a tri-series involving Afghanistan and UAE from August 29 to September 7 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, in the United Arab Emirates. The T20I tournament will serve as a launching pad for the teams to prepare for and acclimatise to the conditions ahead of the eight-team ACC Men's T20 Asia Cup, scheduled to take place in the UAE from September 9 to 28, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced in a press release. The opening match of the tri-series tournament will be played between Afghanistan and Pakistan on Friday, August 29, with the first ball to be bowled at 7pm local time, the PCB said. Asia Cup 2025 to be held from September 9-28 in UAE, Mohsin Naqvi confirm 'Each team will play the others twice, giving all sides at least four matches before the top two teams qualify for the final, scheduled on September 7,' it added. Stokes, Jadeja prosper in ICC rankings
All-rounders Ben Stokes and Ravindra Jadeja have made substantial gains in the ICC Men's Test Player Rankings after their fine performances with both bat and ball in the drawn fourth Test of the ICC World Test Championship series between England and India. England captain Stokes has progressed three places to third position among all-rounders, his highest position since December 2022. The formerly top-ranked all-rounder's knock of 141 in England's only innings and a haul of six wickets that included a five-for in the first innings, has also helped him move up eight slots to 34th among batters and up from 45th to 42nd among bowlers. Jadeja has inflated his lead at the top of the rankings for all-rounders after grabbing four wickets and scoring a fighting 107 not out. He has added 13 rating points and is now on an aggregate of 422, 117 rating points clear of Bangladesh's Mehidy Hasan. He has also moved up five places to 29th among batters and up one place to 14th among bowlers. Joe Root's score of 150 at Old Trafford has increased his lead at the top of the batting rankings to 37 rating points over second-placed Kane Williamson, while openers Ben Duckett (up five places to 10th) and Zak Crawley (up two places to 43rd) have also made notable progress. Ollie Pope has inched up to 24th position. India all-rounder Washington Sundar's unbeaten 101 in the second innings during which he put on 203 runs with Jadeja for the unbroken fifth wicket that helped India draw the Test, has helped him climb up eight places to 65th position. Sundar has also moved up eight positions to joint-13th among all-rounders, having also taken two wickets in the match. The Test bowling rankings see fast bowler Jofra Archer continue his impressive return after four years, his haul of three for 73 lifting him 38 places to 63rd position.
