Nick Kyrgios posts photo with notorious rapper out on $1.8million bail over alleged kidnap and assault

Daily Mail20-05-2025

Nick Kyrgios has found himself at the centre of fresh controversy after sharing a photo with a rapper currently out on $1.8million bail over alleged kidnapping and assault charges.
The tennis star posted the black and white image on Instagram showing him seated beside Ay Huncho - real name Ali Younes - during a performance at Canberra's Fiction nightclub on May 9.
Younes, a rapper from Western Sydney, is alleged to have ties to the Alameddine crime syndicate and recently had his bail conditions amended to allow him to perform shows around Australia.
In the photo, Kyrgios appears relaxed while Ay Huncho's ankle monitor is clearly visible.
News Corp reported that the caption read: 'Keep waiting on it @ayhuncho' was paired with four freezing face emojis, before the post was deleted from Kyrgios' account.
Ay Huncho also reportedly re-shared the image, and it remains visible on the nightclub's official profile.
There is no suggestion Kyrgios has any involvement with the Alameddine network.
Younes is accused of ambushing a man at a suspected drug house in Granville, allegedly dragging the victim into a garage and beating him unconscious.
Court documents state Younes and others were heard laughing and discussing the assault in an audio recording.
The alleged victim was hospitalised but refused to co-operate with police.
Despite an initial $500,000 surety offer being denied over flight risk concerns, Younes was later granted bail with his friends and family putting up a staggering $1.8million.
The rapper's rising profile comes amid his ongoing national tour, with upcoming performances in Melbourne and an final show in Adelaide on May 30.
Kyrgios' choice of company follows his recent breakup with long-time girlfriend and influencer Costeen Hatzi.
The pair began dating in 2021 and were often seen together at public events before announcing their split in March.
Kyrgios has been making plenty of public appearances but has played very little tennis in recent years
Hatzi later stated, 'We haven't spoken. Relationships sometimes end, and I believe it's for the best.'
Kyrgios' form on the tennis court has also taken a hit since reaching the Wimbledon final in 2022.
A string of injuries, including knee and wrist issues, led to surgery and several tournament withdrawals.
His comeback at the 2025 Brisbane International ended in a first-round loss, followed by a pull-out from Indian Wells due to recurring pain.
He is set to return at the French Open in the men's doubles alongside Jordan Thompson, marking his first appearance at Roland Garros in eight years.
Off the court, Kyrgios has also listed his $1.6million Sydney penthouse for sale, which he bought in 2022.
Property records suggest he used the apartment as his fulltime base while in the city.
In the entertainment world, Kyrgios is also expanding his brand with OnlyFans' new OFTV series 'Smash City.'
The four-episode series blends celebrity and sport, with Kyrgios co-hosting alongside reality star Sophie Stonehouse and adult film icon Rachel Starr.

Senator drops savage takedown of Gavin Newsom's failures: 'He's a sheep in sheep's clothing'

A Republican senator called out Governor Gavin Newsom in a scorching rant about his weak leadership as anti- ICE riots wreak havoc on Los Angeles. Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy, 73, appeared on Fox News to discuss the raging protests that have gripped the Southern California city's streets. 'I don't think this situation is especially complicated,' Kennedy said during the Tuesday segment. 'We've got a wolf problem in Los Angeles. They're not peaceful protestors, they're wolves.' Thousands of rioters have been swarming LA since Friday, vandalizing storefronts and setting cars on fire. Kennedy argued that Newsom is doing nothing to tackle the crime and violence, claiming the Democratic governor is no match for the raucous crowds. 'So you say, "Well, where's the governor?" Well, the governor is a sheep,' Kennedy asserted. 'He's a sheep in sheep's clothing. He thinks cops are a bigger problem than criminals.' After criticizing Newsom, Kennedy moved to LA Mayor Karen Bass, calling her a 'sheep' just like the governor. 'More sheep is not going to stop the wolf problem,' he reiterated, justifying the Trump administration's $134 million-decision to send troops to LA for 60 days. 'We're stopping the wolf problem. Last night was a better night and tonight will be better still.' President Trump has sent 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to LA to intervene and protect federal property - efforts Newsom has fiercely pushed back on. California filed a lawsuit over the use of the National Guard following the first deployment, claiming Trump 'trampled' the state's sovereignty and sent troops without the governor's permission. In a post on X post, Newsom called Trump 'deranged' for his response to the riots and claimed he was acting like a dictator rather than a president. Kennedy is not the only politician accusing Newsom of acting against the state's best interest. House Speaker Mike Johnson said he should face consequences for enabling criminal behavior. 'I'm not going to give you legal analysis on whether Gavin Newsom should be arrested,' Johnson told reporters. 'But he ought to be tarred and feathered, I'll say that. 'He's standing in the way of the administration of carrying out of federal law. He is applauding the bad guys and standing in the way of the good guys. He is a participant, an accomplice.' Democratic Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman also condemned California's reaction to the protests. 'I unapologetically stand for free speech, peaceful demonstrations, and immigration - but this is not that,' he wrote on X. 'This is anarchy and true chaos. 'My party loses the moral high ground when we refuse to condemn setting cars on fire, destroying buildings, and assaulting law enforcement.' The protests began on Friday, when anti-ICE demonstrators seized on a handful of migrant raids across the city, acting against Trump's deportation policies. Local business owners were outraged as destructive looters continued to target downtown stores as the protests persisted.

Nick Kyrgios's role as Wimbledon pundit to end after only one year

Nick Kyrgios will not be part of the BBC's Wimbledon coverage this year and the Australian is set to miss the tournament as a player too. The BBC was criticised for hiring the 30-year-old for Wimbledon last year after he admitted assaulting an ex-girlfriend. Sources close to the broadcaster have confirmed that Kyrgios will not be part of the line-up for the 2025 event, which starts on June 30. Kyrgios confirmed last week that his hopes of playing in SW19 for the first time since 2022, when he reached the final, had been dashed by a setback in his recovery from injury. In 2023 Kyrgios admitted to assaulting his ex-girlfriend Chiara Passari when he pushed her over during an argument, but avoided a criminal conviction after a magistrate ruled that the offence was 'low-level'. He was also criticised for sharing social media posts by the misogynist influencer Andrew Tate — he later deleted them. Last year the BBC was forced to defend its decision to hire Kyrgios, saying: 'We are in no way condoning his cited previous actions or behaviours, on and off the court, and he is employed to share his views on tennis only.' Kyrgios has also been outspoken in recent months about the leniency of a three-month ban given to the French Open finalist and world No1 Jannik Sinner after two positive drugs tests in 2024. Kyrgios, who has been open about his mental health struggles, said the sanction showed that 'fairness in tennis does not exist'. Last year he told the interviewer Louis Theroux it was 'impossible' that the pyramids had been built by humans and also indicated he believed there was evidence to back up other conspiracy theories, including whether the moon landings had actually taken place.

Beauty queen strangled to death by longtime family friend after he revealed shocking secret

A young beauty queen was allegedly strangled to death by a longtime family friend who confessed his love for her - only to fly into a murderous rage when she rejected his advances. Suspect Marcelo Alves, 40, told police that he made up a story about a job opportunity in Sorocaba, Brazil, and pitched it to Raissa da Silva, 23. Video footage showed da Silva getting in a vehicle with Alves, an up-and-coming comedian, on June 2 and waving at her family before they reported her missing. They went out for lunch and then visited his home in Curitiba, where Alves admitted to da Silva that he loved her, according to Paraná Civil Police chief Aline Manzatto. Alves, who is known on stage as Alves Li Pernambuco, said that da Silva got upset and insulted him before he strangled her with a plastic wire. 'He said he was angry and out of control, that he took the plastic wire and strangled the victim, leaving her in one room of the house and going to another,' Manzatto said. Alves returned to the room 10 minutes later to find her dead. Manzatto indicated that Alves placed da Silva's body in a tarp and wrapped it before sealing it with duct tape. He then called his son, Dhony, who begged him to turn himself in to the police. Alves then borrowed a vehicle from a friend, and with the assistance of his son transported the body to a forest in the town of Araucária - about 18 miles from Curitiba - and buried da Silva. On Monday, Alves went to a police station in Curitiba and admitted to killing da Silva and hiding her body. He gave his confession just moments after sending da Silva's sister audio message copping to the crime, the victim's family's lawyer told Brazilian news outlet G1. Alves provided the location of da Silva's body and led cops to the site. Da Silva, a native of Paulo Alfonso, was only 10 years old when she met Alves, a friend of the family, at a martial art class he taught. She was crowned Miss Serra Branca Teen in 2020 and had been doing modeling work in Curitiba, where she lived the past three years. Da Siva's cousin, Herbert Guilherme, told G1 that Alves even offered to assist the family in their search after she went missing because da Silva saw him as a father figure 'When I found out about her disappearance, I called him,' Guilherme said. 'He lied the whole time. He kept saying he was going to help me find her.' Alves remains jailed on charges of homicide and concealment of a body. Dhony was charged with concealing a corpse and was released after posting bail. The comedian's lawyer, Caio Percival, told RPC television that he has a clean record and had never stepped inside a police precinct before his confession. 'There is no secret to this, it is a crime of passion,' Percival said. '[He] unfortunately was dragged by passion into this situation that is clearly out of the ordinary.
