Rescuers reveal tragic influencer was initially found alive after 650ft fall that also killed her partner
Stacey Tourout suffered a 'severe' head injury in the August 7 incident that also claimed the life of her partner Matthew Yeomans.
The pair were behind the popular Toyota World Runners YouTube channel and had been traveling in the mountainous region near Trout Lake in British Columbia province.
Rescuers have revealed that Tourout was still alive when they arrived at the harrowing scene on a 'backcountry trail' where the terrain is described as 'pretty rough.'
Tourout was still conscious after the couple 'lost control' of their vehicle and rolled 'many, many times' downhill, though she had suffered 'a severe head injury,' Kaslo Search and Rescue Communication Manager Mark Jennings-Bates told PEOPLE.
'She didn't realize quite how injured she was,' Jennings-Bates said, adding Tourout was lifted from the scene by helicopter and placed in ambulance that took her to a local hospital, where she later died.
Yeomans was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was found with 'no vital signs,' according to Jennings-Bates.
The engaged couple was traveling along a forestry road 'somewhere in the mountains' near Trout Lake, Jennings-Bates told CBC.
While the official cause of the crash has not yet been confirmed, investigators believe they likely lost control of the vehicle and plummeted down a mountain.
Jennings-Bates estimated they fell about 650ft until they slammed into the bottom.
He also described the rescue operation as 'challenging' because it was a long uphill journey to get to them, although he said his team did so 'efficiently.'
He also noted his team has responded to the many calls in the area where they died, as it is difficult to navigate and rugged.
'From what I understand, it's one of the few patches of the road that doesn't have a forest on the side,' Jennings-Bates said.
'So anywhere else, they would've been caught by the trees — they would've maybe gotten a bit hurt. But this is the one area where they were gonna go for a big ride if they did go off the side road.'
Stacey's mother confirmed the couple's death in a heartbreaking social media post.
She wrote they died together in an off-road accident 'in the beautiful mountains of British Columbia that they loved so much.'
'Please keep us and them in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this devastating end to an amazing Love Story,' Colleen Tourout wrote.

A Republican congressman was shocked when he saw a minivan careen into a semi-truck at full speed on the highway, and luckily for those involved, his Navy SEAL training kicked in. Rep. Derrick Van Orden, R-Wis., saved the life of an 11-year-old boy after witnessing the wreck's fallout and quickly rushing into action. Van Orden, 55, was driving with his wife, Sara, down Interstate 35 near Osceloa, Iowa, on Saturday when he saw the crash in his rearview mirror. 'I'm watching a Dodge Grand minivan disintegrate. It seemed to drift off the road at about 70 miles per hour, more so on the passenger side of the car. My wife, Sarah, was like, what happened? I looked at it, I said, someone just died,' the lawmaker recounted to the Washington Examiner. The Wisconsin Republican and former SEAL Team Four member for over 20 years knew that he had to act. 'I ran to the passenger side, where all the damage was, and there was this 11-year-old kid, and I looked at him, and his calf, which is about as big as my thigh, was completely ripped apart, so I could see his tibia and his fibula, just a big chunk of him bleeding,' Van Orden shared. 'And he had an arterial bleed in his right wrist,' he added. What the former special operator did next harkened back to his days in combat: He returned to his car, retrieved a pair of socks and fastened them to create a makeshift tourniquet. 'By then, probably 10 people had also pulled over to help, I'm like, does somebody have a knife? And they're like, yep. So I cut the seat belts off and then made tourniquets,' the congressman told the outlet. Soon after Van Orden arrived at the scene, other good Samaritans also stopped by to aid the boy. The congressman praised the others alongside him who helped to administer care to the shocked family before first responders arrived. 'Some big old Iowa farm dude, probably 60-something, rips off a windshield wiper for his arm, then another lady there said she was a medic,' Van Orden recalled. 'She wound up grabbing a piece of metal and made a tourniquet on his leg, and then all of us packed him up and got him up into the ambulance.' Time was of the essence, too, as the injured boy was losing an immense amount of blood, the lawmaker said. For miles all around the interstate stretched rural farmland, and without rapid medical attention, 'he would've been gone,' Van Orden told the outlet. 'It took about 10 to 15 minutes. He would've bled to death,' the Republican disclosed. After the scary accident, Van Orden checked in on the boy on Monday at a hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. A photo released by the congressman's office shows him kneeling next to the boy in the hospital. The young man is seen flashing a thumbs-up while lying in his hospital bed as Van Orden, in a trucker hat, holds up what appears to be a puppy. The lawmaker said he was heartened by his fellow Americans' inclination to assist the impacted boy and his family. 'What happened out there is everything that I love about America. So we're in the middle of somewhere, and this happens, and people just start showing up. They start asking, 'Hey, can we do this? Can we do that?' he said.

Tribute to cyclist, 80, after Childerley Estate crash death
An 80-year-old man who died in a crash with a car on a country estate was "much-loved" and had a "lifelong love of cycling", his family has Sansom, known as Bob, died after he was involved in a collision with a white Skoda Karoq while cycling on the Childerley Estate near Dry Drayton, in Cambridgeshire, at about 21:15 BST on 7 Sansom's family said he also enjoyed walking, gliding, beekeeping, volunteering and travelling during his "active life".The Skoda driver, a man in his 30s from Newmarket, Suffolk, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and released on bail until 7 November. Woman died in high speed crash on Christmas Day in Brent Cross
A 32-year-old man has been warned he is likely to be jailed after he admitted killing a woman in a high-speed car crash in north London on Christmas Day Forde, from Bedford, was driving a black Mercedes car at speeds of up to 140pm on Hendon Way, Brent Cross, when he crashed into the back of a Carolina Do Nascimento, 22, a passenger in the BMW, died at the scene. There was perhaps no option other than to do so given the state of the evidence."However, the fact you pleaded at this stage will be taken into account at sentencing."You must understand the most likely result - if not the inevitable result - will be you sent to prison." No police pursuit The crash happened on a 40mph (64kph) stretch of Hendon Way at around 03:45 GMT on 25 December 2022, after Forde's car had reached speeds of more than 140mph (225.3kph).Shortly beforehand, police officers on patrol in a marked vehicle had indicated for Forde to the vehicle drove off from police and there was no pursuit, Scotland Yard had said.A short time later police were informed the same car had been involved in a collision with another the Metropolitan Police said it had made a referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct as is routine in such circumstances.
