Israeli attack on Iran poses serious threat to region's stability: Cabinet

The Cabinet has reiterated the State of Qatar's strong condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli attack targeting the territory of the sisterly Islamic Republic of Iran. The cabinet describedit a flagrant violation of Iran's sovereignty and security, in addition to a clear breach of the rules and principles of international law.
The Cabinet,chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, on Wednesday affirmed that the Israeli attack, which represents a dangerous escalation and a systematic policy of aggression, poses a serious threat to the stability of the region and hinders efforts to reach diplomatic solutions.
Warning of the catastrophic regional and international repercussions of the attack, the Cabinet called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibility, intervene urgently and decisively to stop it, reduce all forms of escalation, and reach diplomatic solutions that achieve lasting and comprehensive peace in the region.
The Cabinet then took note of the Shura Council's approval of a draft law on persons with disabilities, with the preparation of a draft law to replace Law No. 2 of 2004 regarding people with special needs.
Among the objectives of the draft law are ensuring the full and effective participation of people with disabilities in society, enabling them to exercise all basic rights and freedoms on an equal basis with others, ensuring their integration into society and in all areas of life, and ensuring and respecting the rights of children with disabilities and developing their capabilities.
The Cabinet approved a draft law regulating the import, export and transit of rough diamonds and referred it to the Shura Council.
The Cabinet also decided to approve a draft statute of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's humanitarian funds, a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of transport and transit between the governments of the State of Qatar and the Russian Federation, and a draft letter of intent for cooperation in the field of peace, reconciliation and conflict resolution between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The Cabinet wrapped up its meeting by reviewing a report on the results of the participation of the Qatari delegation, headed by HE Minister of Labor, in the first meeting to implement the agreement regulating the recruitment of Burundian workers in the State of Qatar.

Israel attacks displacement shelters to force Palestinians to southern Gaza
Agencies Gaza Since announcing plans to invade northern Gaza and expel Palestinians again to the south, Israel has attacked displacement shelters in the Gaza City neighbourhood of Zeitoun, according to an investigation by Sanad, Al Jazeera's verification unit. Since August 13, Sanad has found that Israel stepped up the bombardment and shelling of Zeitoun, and often directly hit displacement shelters. The siege and ongoing violence have compelled thousands of Palestinians to close their tents in the camps and flee further south, according to satellite imagery obtained by Sanad. There are about 11 displacement shelters in Zeitoun, each sheltering 4,000 to 4,500 besieged and hungry Palestinians. Most live on just 3.2sq km (1.2sq miles), which makes up just 32 percent of the pre-war size of Zeitoun. At the start of the war, Israel dug trenches in and around the neighbourhood, claiming it was creating a 'buffer zone', and built the Netzarim Corridor, which has split Gaza into two zones. Israel's recent bombardment of the neighbourhood is terrifying civilians into fleeing south, leading to another cycle of forced displacement that may amount to ethnic cleansing due to Israel's attempt to destroy all livable facilities and structures. According to Sanad, there is clear evidence that Israel is pursuing that policy in and around Zeitoun. Between August 11 and 16, sources documented Israel's attack on al-Falah School in Zeitoun and a tent camp on al-Lababidi Street. Both the Majida al-Wasila school in the Nassr neighbourhood and tents in the Sheikh Ajilin neighbourhood were also hit. This pattern of direct attacks on tents and school shelters – the last refuge for hundreds of thousands of Palestinians – may amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity, since these structures are protected under international humanitarian law.

Hamas informed mediators of its approval of new Gaza ceasefire proposal: Al Ansari
Khaled Al Hameidi Doha Dr Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed that the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has informed mediators of its approval of a new proposal for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Speaking at the weekly media briefing on Tuesday, Dr Al Ansari said the proposal represents the best possible option to spare further bloodshed in Gaza, particularly amid the ongoing military escalation and plans revealed in the media. The new initiative lays out a path towards a comprehensive agreement to end the war. It provides for a 60-day temporary ceasefire, during which prisoners and hostages will be exchanged, Israeli forces will reposition, and humanitarian aid will be allowed into Gaza in accordance with the agreed terms. 'Hamas' response was very positive and largely aligns with what was previously approved by the Israeli side, but mediators are still awaiting an official response from Israel,' Dr Al Ansari noted. He warned that the region is facing a critical humanitarian moment and stressed that failure to reach an agreement now could lead to an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe. Qatar, in cooperation with Egypt, the United States, and other international partners, continues to push for a ceasefire and the facilitation of humanitarian aid. While no specific timeframe has been set for Israel's response, discussions are ongoing, he added. Dr Al Ansari emphasized that nearly 98% of the provisions previously accepted by Israel are included in the current proposal. If both parties agree, the mediation will move into a technical phase to discuss implementation details. He further underlined that the anticipated agreement will be placed under international sponsorship and guarantees, particularly from the United States. However, he noted that true commitment from both sides remains the most important guarantee for success. He said the mediation is still in the stage of exchanging responses.
