ESPN BET announces betting integration with fantasy sports
You've heard of SportsCenter, but now ESPN's betting platform, ESPN BET, is bringing you FanCenter.
The media conglomerate, which hosts a sports betting platform with gambling powerhouse PENN Entertainment, is bringing its latest feature to the app to help you keep an eye on your fantasy teams.
ESPN BET is rolling out a new 'For You' page where your ESPN Fantasy rosters will automatically upload into your betting app once you link your ESPN account.
Users will now get ESPN BET's player insights, Over/Under props, and stats uploaded directly onto the app, which could help users make those dicey start/sit decisions on a week-to-week basis.

'We've been focused on increasing the visibility of ESPN BET across the ESPN ecosystem, such as showcasing odds in stories and box scores and expanding the availability of markets within the ESPN app to include player and game props,' Aaron LaBerge, Chief Technology Officer and Head of Interactive at PENN Entertainment, told The Post. 'Now we're extending that connectivity to the fantasy product with a really innovative feature, tapping into the massive ESPN fantasy userbase and streamlining the process for players to double down on their rosters with just a few taps.'
In addition to the fantasy sports piece of this new feature, bettors will also have a highlighted market to build bets based on their fantasy team called 'Fantasy Bet Builder.'
ESPN fantasy football was the No. 1 fantasy sports platform in the app store, as it set an all-time high mark with more than 13 million people playing the game.

PENN Entertainment and ESPN are coming up on two years in business together, with the expectation that they would carve out a significant market share from the big guys, DraftKings and FanDuel.
These increasing efforts from PENN to work towards that goal with ESPN are a show of unity between the two companies, as they've mostly underperformed that expectation to date.

PENN Entertainment CEO Jay Snowden had hoped that they would build a 20 percent market share by 2027, but they are projecting a 4.7 percent share by the end of 2025.
ESPN BET and PENN Entertainment are in the midst of a 10-year $2 billion deal through 2033, although there are opt-out clauses if certain marketshare requirements are not met.

Jon Gruden: "I look forward to having the truth come out"
On Monday, only Jon Gruden's lawyers spoke in the aftermath of a major victory over the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell in the Nevada Supreme Court. On Tuesday, Gruden issued a statement to his former employer, ESPN. 'I'm looking forward to having the truth come out and I want to make sure what happened to me doesn't happen to anyone else,' Gruden said in the statement. If/when the case moves forward in Nevada state court, Gruden's lawyers will have the right to seek evidence regarding the person(s) who leaked emails from the Washington investigation to multiple media outlets, in an alleged effort to end his tenure with the Raiders. 'The league's actions disrupted the whole season,' Gruden added. 'We were leading the division at the time, and they completely blindsided me and the team.' He's exactly right. Even if Gruden objectively deserved to be pushed out based on emails sent while, coincidentally, he was working for ESPN, someone from a small group of people who had access to the emails chose to leak them during the 2021 season. The situation could have been handled in June, when the emails were first flagged. The situation could have been handled after the season. Instead, someone weaponized the emails and forced the Raiders to change coaches on the fly. With Rich Bisaccia as the interim coach, the Raiders made it to the playoffs and nearly beat the Bengals in the wild-card round. The Bengals, in turn, nearly won the Super Bowl. 'What happened wasn't right and I'm glad the court didn't let the NFL cover it up,' Gruden said. The league will still try to cover it all up, through an appeal aimed at forcing Gruden's case into the secret, rigged, kangaroo court of arbitration. If the United States Supreme Court eventually gives the league what it wants, it's likely that no one will ever know the truth about who leaked the emails.

Wait, Denzel Washington is a Cowboys fan?
On Tuesday, while promoting his new "Highest 2 Lowest" movie, Denzel Washington appeared on ESPN's First Take to share some of his opinions on the Dallas Cowboys. Unsurprisingly, he had some choice opinions about Dallas owner Jerry Jones. Because, you know, it's hard not to talk about him and his propensity to overanalyze handshakes with All-Pro pass-rushers. Jones has driven the Cowboys into the ground over the years! He deserves all the criticism he's received lately and then some. But that's not the part I'm concerned with here. No, no. Everyone has (rightful) opinions about Jones these days. Washington is just the latest to pile on. It's that Washington, a New York native, is ... a Cowboys fan? Really? How did I not know this? For a legendary, superstar actor like Washington, I feel like that's something that would be much more common knowledge. Huh. So, how did it happen? How did a New York guy like Washington "betray" the New York Giants to root for one of their biggest rivals? As always, it's not as simple as it sounds. What drew Washington to the Cowboys? According to the Dallas Morning News, Washington's childhood football team was with the Boys Club in Mount Vernon, New York. Their nickname was the Red Raiders, and this made him want to go and play for the Texas Tech Red Raiders in college football. This eventually made him gravitate toward following Texas Longhorns football, and that, of course, transitioned to an emotional investment in the Cowboys. The fact that his fandom started as a kid off of something so innocent makes a lot of sense. Does Washington root for other New York teams? Yes, from a baseball perspective, he grew up rooting for the New York Yankees. He said as much in a visit to the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he told a story about sneaking into Yankee Stadium. He's apparently a huge baseball guy through and through, which is cool. From a basketball perspective, I'm sorry, Knicks fans, he doesn't love your team. (In all fairness, they haven't really been worth the trouble until recently.) Washington actually roots for the Los Angeles Lakers. He has season tickets and has been known to hang around the team from time to time over the years, like in this 2018 visit. OK, so he roots for the Cowboys, Yankees, and Lakers ... does that also mean he roots for Duke? Ha. Original! But in all seriousness, there isn't anything clear or public to suggest Washington actively follows the Blue Devils' men's basketball program. Phew. So, in this specific case, he does get to maintain some semblance of credibility from a surface level as a sports fan.
