Mukesh Khanna talks about 'Paheli Geet', says he thought of making song dedicated to freedom fighters

Taking to his Instagram, he shared the song and wrote in the caption, "Paheli Geet 2 - A unique musical tribute to the unsung heroes of India's freedom struggle. Presented by Mukesh Khanna and Bheeshm International, this song is designed to engage young minds through melody, mystery, and patriotism. Can you solve the paheli (riddle) behind the voice of a revolutionary?"

R. Chopra's Mahabharat, said that he feels "lucky" to get an opportunity to play both the roles.
As

"Since my school days, every 15th of August, we used to stand in the school, we used to have a parade, we used to salute the flag, and we used to sing a song. But the 15th of August is an emotion, a reality.

Kannada actor Santhosh Balaraj passes away at 34
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], August 5 (ANI): Santhosh Balaraj, who was known for his works in Kannada films, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 34 in Bengaluru. He breathed his last at Sagar Apollo Hospital in Kumaraswamy Layout, Bengaluru. He was admitted to the hospital last month due to Jaundice and was recovering after undergoing treatment. Santhosh was admitted to the hospital again after falling ill and was in the intensive care unit. The actor who was undergoing treatment died today at the hospital. His last rites were performed on Tuesday evening in son of producer Anekal Balaraj, Santhosh began his career with 'Kempa'.In 2009, he played the lead role in his debut movie 'Kempa', produced by his father, Anekal Balaraj.'Kempa', the action drama film, was directed by debutante Jagadish and starred late actor Santhosh and Thanushika. He was also known for his roles in movies like 'Kariya 2' and 'Ganapa'. In 'Ganapa', he played an innocent man forced into lawlessness. 'Ganapa', which was released in 2015, was written and directed by Prabhu Srinivas. It also starred Priyanka Thimmesh. His last film, 'Kariya 2', is a gangster film directed by Prabhu Srinivas starring Santhosh Balaraj in the title role and Mayuri Kyatari in the opposite lead role. It is an unrelated sequel to the 2003 blockbuster Kariya. The movie was released in 2017. (ANI)

BAFTA tweaks International TV category voting rules, reveals 2026 award dates
London [UK], August 5 (ANI): British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has tweaked its voting process for the international TV category so that all of its 6,000 members are allowed to determine the nominations and winners, reported Deadline. Previously, the round one voting longlist was carried out by members, but round two and three voting was conducted by a to the outlet, the awards body said it has 'opened up the international category to voting members as part of our commitment to greater member engagement across the TV Awards and in recognition of our global membership," as quoted by Deadline. 'We believe this change will strengthen the category and ensure the very best international programmes get the recognition they deserve," it added, as quoted by Deadline. This new move by BAFTA is a reflection of an ever-globalising world of television, as the international TV category has given some interesting winners over the past few years. According to Deadline, in 2024, it was given to Netflix France series 'Class Act', which beat off competition from huge hits like 'The Bear', 'Beef' and 'Succession'.A year prior, the controversial 'Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story' beat the likes of Jennifer Ortega's 'Wednesday' and 'The White Lotus'.Last year's winner was Disney+'s Shogun, reported Rosen, chair of BAFTA's Television Committee, said, 'This year, the most notable change to the rulebook is the International category, which will now be determined by our 6,000-strong TV voting membership. Awarding creative excellence and inspiring future talent is central to BAFTA's mission, so we look forward to commemorating the achievements of the exceptional people who bring TV to life on and off-screen next Spring." In another tweak, BAFTA has said that for submissions with at least five candidates, the body will allow one exemption for a senior team member who might not be UK-eligible, as long as 80% of the team are UK-eligible and there is a clear reason for the exemption.'This reflects how our industry works today, while maintaining our commitment to celebrating UK talent and craft," it added, while pointing to the increase in international co-productions being submitted to the awards, reported Deadline. Last year's BAFTA TV Award nominations saw records broken by the American streamers, who picked up multiple nods for 'Baby Reindeer', 'Slow Horses' and has opened up entries to this year's TV Awards and listed key dates, including the main awards taking place on May 10 and the crafts on April 26. Nominations will be announced in March next year, according to Deadline. Hilary Rosen, chair of BAFTA's Television Committee, said: 'In a year when we saw that TV still has the power to spark national debate and where we honoured the exceptional creativity and craft of British and international TV, I'm delighted to open entries again for Britain's biggest celebration of the small screen," as quoted by Deadline. Repair Shop TV host Jay Blades charged with alleged rape accusations
Washington DC [US], August 5 (ANI): The popular UK TV host, Jay Blades, best known for the show 'The Repair Shop', has been charged with two alleged counts of rape, reported Variety. According to the outlet, West Mercia Police confirmed the allegations against the 55-year-old broadcaster, who is now due to appear in court next Wednesday.'Jason Blades, 55, of Claverley in Shropshire, has been charged with two counts of rape. He is due to appear at Telford magistrates' court on 13 August 2025," a police spokesperson said as quoted by show 'The Repair Shop," made by Warner Bros.
