India Gazettea day ago

Karnal (Haryana) [India], June 15 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday expressed confidence that the Haryana government would extend its full cooperation in the development of the national capital.
Speaking to mediapersons in Haryana's Karnal, CM Gupta said, '... I believe that Delhi will keep getting full cooperation from the state of Haryana... Some forces are acting like an eclipse on the state of Punjab, which is why neither Punjab is able to develop nor maintain proper coordination with other states.'
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta chaired a high-level meeting on Saturday to strengthen the city's real estate system and make it more transparent, efficient, and development-focused, according to an official statement.
During the meeting, the 'Government-Industry Taskforce on Real Estate Report' was formally submitted to the government.
This report was jointly prepared by major stakeholders, including the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), and real estate consultancy CBRE.
The report outlined 10 major challenges currently faced by Delhi's real estate sector, such as unauthorised colonies, housing societies, redevelopment of colonies, and modernisation of infrastructure in industrial zones and suggested practical, implementable solutions for each.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reaffirmed her government's commitment to revamp the sector. She said that the government is committed to moving Delhi towards a structured, transparent, and citizen-friendly real estate model.
Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa and senior representatives from MCD, DDA, DMRC, the Registrar of Co-operative Societies (RCS), and CII attended the meeting.
Officials said the report will serve as a blueprint for policy reforms and structural changes in the capital's real estate ecosystem.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Government will soon unveil a new excise policy aimed at making liquor distribution transparent, accountable, and modern while prioritising social welfare and protecting vulnerable communities, according to an official statement.
As per the statement, the Delhi Government is set to roll out a new Excise Policy soon. The primary objective of this policy is to ensure the availability of quality liquor to the citizens of the capital and to make the sale and distribution system transparent, modern, and accountable.
CM Rekha Gupta clearly stated that social security will remain the top priority in the new excise policy. The government will ensure that the policy does not adversely impact sensitive sections of society, as stated in the statement.
Further, as per the statement, the Delhi government is committed to ensuring that no aspect of the policy negatively affects sensitive sections of society and that vulnerable communities' safety, health, and peace are not compromised in any way.
A high-level committee, chaired by the Chief Secretary of the Delhi Government, is currently working on formulating this policy.
The committee is also reviewing the excise policies of several other states to adopt best practices that prioritise effective liquor distribution and social protection, the release said. (ANI)

Skoda Kylaq SUV may get CNG powertrain, new variants. Launch in…

Skoda Kylaq is the most affordable offering from the Czech carmaker in India. The sub-compact SUV has given Skoda access to a segment which is considered the most competitive space in the Indian passenger vehicle market. The Volkswagen AG-owned automaker that has been known as an affordable premium car manufacturer has entered the league of mass-market segment with the Kylaq. Skoda has claimed that following the launch of the Kylaq in India, the OEM has been able to become the seventh car manufacturer in the country in 2024, up from the 11th position in the previous year. Now, Skoda aims to hold this position, and in that strategy, Kylq is going to be a key product. One key technology upgrade expected to be introduced to the Skoda Kylaq is a petrol-CNG bi-fuel powertrain. The compact SUV segment in the Indian market has multiple petrol-CNG models. Kylaq could be the next entrant in the space. Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Skoda Auto India, has revealed that the automaker is mulling the plan to introduce a petrol-CNG bi-fuel powertrain. However, he didn't reveal any timeline for the launch of this powertrain technology. The automaker is currently looking at the compatibility of a CNG kit for its turbocharged petrol engines as a part of broader powertrain offerings for the Indian market. Interestingly, this news comes in line with the automaker's announcement during the Kylaq launch, where the OEM said that it was open to CNG for India, but would only take the decision if there is volume potential. Skoda Kylaq is likely to receive a new variant in the lower range. It would come as a second or third base variant. The car manufacturer aims to increase the appeal of the Kylaq with the launch of this new variant. However, Skoda has not revealed any timeframe for the introduction of this new variant. Gupta has hinted that the OEM is considering bringing a new variant of the Kylaq. However, he also stated that a new variant takes time to be launched in the market. In that case, we can expect a new variant for the Kylaq to come into the market sometime later this year or in early next year.

Mann is just ‘mukhota', Punjab govt being run by AAP's ‘rejected leaders': Delhi CM

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday alleged that her Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann is just a 'mukhota' (mask) as his government is being run by the AAP leaders, who have been 'rejected' by people of the national capital. She was speaking to reporters in Ludhiana while campaigning for BJP candidate Jiwan Gupta for the June 19 byelection to Ludhiana West seat. Launching a scathing attack on the AAP-led Punjab government, Gupta said drug menace is rampant in the state. She added that 'Punjab has been converted into a Chitta Express' under the AAP's rule. Gupta said the people of Ludhiana West will vote wisely and make the BJP candidate victorious. She also claimed that AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal had made 'tall promises' to the people of Delhi as well as Punjab but now stood exposed. She also accused him of 'widespread corruption and mismanagement during AAP's 10 years in power in Delhi.' Gupta said that 'new cases have been filed against Kejriwal and his team', adding 'that those currently out on bail could soon be imprisoned.' Gupta criticized the AAP government in Delhi for 'failing to present a single CAG report in the assembly over the past decade'. She also highlighted that former Delhi minister Manish Sisodia has failed to respond to summons. Gupta asked the AAP what is the fate of their promises to improve health infrastructure and schools. 'What about your promise to end drug problem in Punjab? What have you done for these years?…People have died due to consumption of spurious liquor in Punjab, what are you doing? Kejriwal should answer what happened to his promises. I will not ask Mann as he is only a 'mukhota' (mask), the government here is being run by their leaders from Delhi who have been rejected by the people there,' she said. Gupta accused Kejriwal of displaying 'false Punjabiyat today'. 'When you were in power in Delhi for a decade, not even one minister in Kejriwal's Cabinet was from the Sikh community. Did you not find them able? While in power in Delhi, you never did anything for the Sikhs,' she said. Gupta said the process of delivering justice to the 1984 anti-Sikh riot victims truly began after Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power. She also said that her government recently handed over job appointment letters to the families of 1984 anti-Sikh riot victims. In present BJP government in Delhi, you will see a minister from the Sikh community, from the Punjabi community, she added. Escalating her attack, Gupta said Mann has been made powerless. 'The chief minister is seen only in the advertisements, what have you left him with. Entire administration in Punjab is being run by the rejected AAP leaders of Delhi. Be it (Manish) Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, Bibhav Kumar, Raghav Chadha. Who among them is of Punjab origin? Who among these knows the problems of Punjab? They are only power hungry. They lost power in Delhi and quickly descended on Punjab,' she said. She added, 'People of Delhi took 10 years to send Kejriwal out of power, but Punjabis are wiser enough to make a good choice, and they have understood completely that time has come to give farewell to the AAP government from here as well.'
