Katz vows to strengthen control over Jerusalem, including Aqsa Mosque

"Israeli" Defense Minister Israel Katz pledged on Sunday to reinforce "Israel's" sovereignty over Jerusalem, including the Aqsa Mosque compound.
Speaking on the social media platform X, Katz said, 'Israel's detractors worldwide continue to make decisions against us and organize protests, but we will strengthen our sovereignty over Jerusalem… forever and ever'

The statement came after "Israeli" National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, a far-right figure, visited the Aqsa compound earlier the same day. During his visit, Ben-Gvir called for the 'complete' occupation of Gaza and the declaration of "Israeli" sovereignty over the territory, which has been devastated by nearly two years of ongoing war.
The Aqsa compound is managed by a Jordanian religious institution under longstanding 'status quo' arrangements, allowing Jewish visitors but prohibiting Jewish prayer at the site.

Jordan evacuates 83 citizens from Syria's Sweida

Jordan's foreign ministry announced it has evacuated a new group of Jordanian citizens from the Sweida Governorate in Syria. Ministry spokesperson Dr. Sufian Qudah said the citizens were transported via Syrian Red Crescent buses, continuing joint efforts with national institutions in Jordan. Qudah reiterated his appreciation for the efforts of Syrian authorities, whose cooperation helped facilitate the evacuation process and ensured the citizens' swift return.

Microsoft helping 'Israel' with surveillance to attack Palestinians: report

A joint investigation by The Guardian, +972 Magazine, and Local Call has uncovered that 'Israel's' elite military intelligence Unit 8200 is utilizing Microsoft's Azure cloud platform for an extensive surveillance program, storing millions of Palestinian phone calls. This cloud-based system, operational since 2022, has significantly expanded 'Israel's' intelligence capabilities, raising serious human rights concerns . Unit 8200 reportedly sought Microsoft's assistance due to insufficient storage and computing power on its own servers, aiming to process "a million calls an hour". By July 2025, an estimated 11,500 terabytes of 'Israeli' military data, equivalent to approximately 200 million hours of audio, are projected to be housed on Microsoft's servers, primarily in the Netherlands. This marks a shift from monitoring "tens of thousands of suspects" to "millions of Palestinians" . Intelligence sources allege this data has been used to identify bombing targets in Gaza and for coercive purposes, including blackmail and justifying arrests in the West Bank. The collaboration, initiated after a late 2021 meeting between Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and then-Unit 8200 Commander Sariel, was viewed internally by Microsoft leadership as a "lucrative business opportunity". Despite Microsoft's public statements of finding "no evidence" its technology was used to harm Palestinians or aid civilian surveillance, leaked documents suggest Microsoft engineers were aware the data would include raw intelligence and audio files. The revelations have intensified protests from Microsoft employees, who have formed campaigns like "No Azure for Apartheid," demanding an end to the company's contracts with the 'Israeli' military.

'Israeli' settlers attack Jordanian aid convoy en route to Gaza

Jordan sent 26 trucks loaded with food aid to Gaza on Wednesday, as part of ongoing humanitarian efforts led by the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), with direct support from the Jordanian Armed Forces. The convoy, initially planned to be part of a larger aid push, faced serious obstacles during transit through the occupied West Bank. Several trucks were vandalized and delayed for hours due to repeated attacks by 'Israeli' settlers. Despite Jordan's continued efforts, the number of trucks reaching Gaza has dropped to fewer than 30 per day, down from previous daily averages of 100 to 150, further worsening the humanitarian and health crisis in the besieged enclave. Dr. Hussein Shibli, JHCO's Secretary-General, condemned the 'systematic assaults' on aid convoys, calling them unacceptable and in violation of international law. 'These attacks will not deter us from our humanitarian duty to our people in Gaza,' Shibli said, adding that the sharp drop in aid deliveries reflects the severe restrictions imposed on the ground. He emphasized that Jordan, under royal directives, will continue sending aid convoys despite the challenges, in full coordination with the Jordanian military and partner organizations.
