Karen Gillan's life has been 'a bit of a blur' since giving birth

Karen Gillan's life has been "a bit of a blur" since giving birth to her first child. The 37-year-old actress and her comedian husband Nick Kocher welcomed a daughter named Clementine late last year and Karen admits becoming a mother has been "the most incredible experience". She told The Hollywood Reporter: "I had a baby [about] five months ago. It's the most incredible experience I've ever had. It's been a bit of a blur for the last few months." Karen went on to reveal she wrote a pilot episode for a TV show in a "complete postpartum haze" because she enjoyed being creative by writing whenever her baby was sleeping - and she hopes the project will eventually make it to screen. She explained: "Somehow, I don't remember doing this, but I've written a pilot. OK, this is a complete postpartum haze of a pilot. "It's like when the baby was sleeping on me, I was like, I'm just going to start writing and I don't even know if I show this to anyone. "It sort of allowed me to really just word vomit and free write without the self-judgment of it all. I don't even know if this will go anywhere, and it's OK actually. I think I'm going to get it to a good spot. "That's sort of what I do to feel like I'm still being creative. It's an outlet. It is fun for me, but there's an end goal to it, which is hopefully I will make it at some point." The former Doctor Who star married Nick in May 2022 at Castle Toward in Scotland and she previously revealed that she first connected with the comedian over social media. During an appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark, she recalled: "I slid into his DMs on Instagram. It's true. He popped up on my recommended friends list on Instagram. The algorithm is tearing the country apart but it brought me together with my guy ... "So it was on Twitter. I followed him on Instagram and he didn't DM me ... So I followed him on Twitter as well ... Anyway so I DMed him on Twitter saying: 'Hi your tweets are really funny. I'm Karen by the way'. "It wasn't very interesting. I hadn't really read his tweets ... He's a comedy writer and that's how you make them feel good about themselves."

The Beach Boys Chart A New Hit Following Brian Wilson's Passing

The Beach Boys' "Good Vibrations" debuts on one U.K. chart more than half a century after its ... More release following Brian Wilson's passing. Clockwise from left, the Beach Boys are Al Jardine, Mike Love, Brian Wilson, Dennis Wilson, and Carl Wilson. Brian Wilson, the genius musician behind The Beach Boys and one of the most celebrated singers and songwriters of all time, passed away on June 11 at the age of 82. Millions of people around the world immediately rushed to honor his legacy by returning to the Beach Boys' classics, which helped define a generation's sound and changed pop music forever. In the wake of Wilson's death, the group scores a new hit in the United Kingdom with a track that originally took over the airwaves more than half a century ago, as 'Good Vibrations' has become a bestseller once again. 'Good Vibrations' appears on a pair of rankings in the U.K. this week. The track debuts on the Official Singles Sales chart, and this frame marks its first appearance on the country's list of the top-selling tunes. The cut opens at No. 55 on the Official Singles Sales chart this frame. Of course, that tally didn't exist when 'Good Vibrations' was first released, and the track required a special set of circumstances to reach this roster. As 'Good Vibrations' debuts, The Beach Boys collect only a third hit on the Official Singles Sales chart. The group first appeared on the list in 2014 with 'God Only Knows,' which remains its top-performing cut on that tally. It's thus far the only release by the band to spend more than one week on the ranking, and it has peaked at No. 23. The Beach Boys scored a second win in 2020 with 'Kokomo.' 'Good Vibrations' now marks the group's third placement and its second-highest-rising title so far — though that number may change in a few days once a full tracking period has passed following the sad news. 'Good Vibrations' also returns to the Official Singles Downloads chart as it debuts on the all-encompassing sales roster. The track had previously spent just one week at No. 22, and now it doubles its total number of appearances on that list by breaking back in at No. 52. 'Good Vibrations' joins only 'God Only Knows' as one of two Beach Boys hits that fans immediately selected as their favorites — the ones they wanted to revisit after Wilson's death. Several collections, such as Sounds of Summer and Pet Sounds, also return, and the group's chart takeover may be even more impressive when the rankings are refreshed.

Scotland's Home of the Year star runs Glasgow Men's 10k in unusual footwear

A 10k run in unusual footwear has helped put a spotlight on men's mental health. TV presenter and architect Danny Campbell completed the Glasgow Men's 10K in a pair of Crocs, using the eye-catching choice of footwear to start conversations around grief, resilience, and men's mental health. Danny, known for his role as a judge on BBC Scotland's Home of the Year, ran the 10K in memory of his younger brother Duncan, who passed away last year following a long illness. He said: "I ran the race in my brother's honour. "Every squeaky step, Dunk was with me. "He faced life's hardest challenges with humour, courage, and zero regards for convention. "He made sure we laughed, even when things got impossibly hard. "I'm just trying to follow in his footsteps." The architect, who founded HOKO Design in 2019 and serves as an ambassador for The Social Hub Glasgow, has spoken candidly about balancing grief, fatherhood, and entrepreneurship while raising three young boys. (Image: Supplied) Danny said: "My Crocs are now a symbol of not giving a toss about other people's expectations. "It's about showing up as yourself — and creating space for other people to do the same. "Thanks to everyone who donated, cheered, or just shook their head in disbelief. "I hope it made people smile - and maybe think about someone they could check in on today." The Glasgow Men's 10k, which began at the Riverside Museum and finished at Glasgow Green, aims to encourage men of all ages to get active and speak openly about their mental health. Danny is raising funds for the Mental Health Foundation, a UK charity dedicated to addressing mental health issues. Donations remain open at Read more: New Glasgow-inspired wellbeing wallpaper unveiled by SAMH Julie Cameron, associate director for Scotland at the Mental Health Foundation, said: "We're incredibly grateful to Danny for taking on this challenge, raising both awareness and vital funds for the Mental Health Foundation. "His message encouraging people, especially men, to talk about their struggles and seek support is more important than ever. "While awareness has grown, stigma still holds many back from opening up about their struggles. "Normalising conversations around mental health is crucial, and if an architect running a 10k in Crocs sparks those discussions, that's a win."

"Will I be able to get on the rides faster, giving me time to do other things? Or is it just a complete waste of time?" Michael, who has a Disney annual pass, enters the park on a sunny day as he questions his decision. He first heads to Phantom Manor, which has a wait time of 25 minutes. Using his premier access pass, Michael gets onto the ride within four minutes. Still unsure if it was worth splashing out on, he heads to the next stop - Indiana Jones. The ride has a 35 minute wait time, with the duo getting on within 15 minutes with their pass. Similarly, they only wait seven minutes at Pirates of the Caribbean - which had a 25 minute wait. At the end of the day, Michael makes a decision on whether or not the pass was worth it. He concludes: "On a day like this? "No. I would've been better saving that money and going to the shops and buying some merchandise." Michael figures out that he waited a total time of two hours and six minutes in queues, and would've waited three hours without the pass. He adds: "Does that justify spending that kind of money? Would you spend that money to skip the queues a bit? "Over all I've had a fantastic day though. Everyone is different, but I won't be doing that again."
