Not Just Travel hosts exclusive Midsummer celebration

Held in the picturesque grounds of the stunning Victorian country manor Easthampstead Park in Berkshire, the event on 21st June welcomed nearly 300 attendees and took place on the Summer Solstice. Consultants and their families were treated to classic fairground games, giant inflatable slides and bouncy castles that kept both children and adults entertained throughout the afternoon. A pizza van served up pizzas on demand, and an ice cream stand ensured everyone stayed cool and refreshed in the summer heat. Adding an extra sparkle to the day were celebrity ambassadors Eamonn Holmes OBE and TV presenter Hayley Sparkes, who took the time to meet attendees, pose for photos, and chat with the company's growing community. Consultants were able to connect, not only with each other, but also with the wider team, including co-founder Steve, the BDMs and staff members, who were all on-hand to share ideas, answer questions, and simply enjoy the day together. Throughout the afternoon, consultants also had the opportunity to network with five top travel suppliers - Inside Travel Group, Classic Collection, Travelpack, EasyJet, and Oceania. The industry partners brought Prosecco, goodie bags, and valuable insights, ensuring the event was both enjoyable and informative. Everyone then came together for a magical sunset BBQ white party, dancing well into the night. Steve Witt, co-founder of Not Just Travel said: 'This was more than just a free party for our members — it was a celebration of everything Not Just Travel stands for: a sense of community, unwavering support, meaningful connections and the kind of team spirit that makes being part of this business truly special.' Not Just Travel consultant Becky Westaway said: 'The family day was a great opportunity to not only catch up with colleagues and our favourite suppliers but also to introduce our family to our work one. The kids had a great time playing in the sunshine and bouncing on all the inflatables while we ate pizza and ice cream and caught up with friends. It was a fabulous day out, generously hosted by the NJT HQ team.'

Tottenham signing Kota Takai is 6ft 4in centre-back who shut down Cristiano Ronaldo and will go straight into first team

That is exactly what Kota Takai, the exciting Japanese centre-back set to be Tottenham's second signing of the Thomas Frank era, managed in April. 6 Tottenham are set to sign towering defender Kota Takai Credit: Getty 6 He has already shut down Cristiano Ronaldo Credit: Getty Towering defender Takai was lining up for J-League outfit Kawasaki Frontale against Ronaldo's Al-Nassr in the semi-final of the AFC Champions League elite. It is Asia's version of the Champions League and the most prestigious competition in that part of the world. Having seen off Didier Drogba's old Chinese team Shanghai Shenhua in the last 16 and Qatari side Al-Sadd, via extra-time, in the quarters, it was Al Nassr's formidable front three of Ronaldo, Sadio Mane and Jhon Duran up next in the last four. But 20-year-old Takai handled the task well, with only Mane of the trio netting as Kawasaki came through 3-2 in Jeddah. It was not how the script was supposed to go. This was meant to be the triumphant pay-off from Al-Nassr's massive expenditure in recent years and their first final appearance in 30 years. But instead it was Takai and Co who went through to the showpiece three days later, with Ronaldo looking visibly shocked at full-time having missed a late chance. Kawasaki went on to lose the final three days later to Ivan Toney's Al-Ahli, Saudi Pro League rivals to Al-Nassr. JOIN SUN VEGAS: GET £50 BONUS Yet Takai's exploits had been enough to capture the attention of Spurs technical director Johan Lange and his staff. Standing at 6ft 4ins tall, the aggressive young centre-back who can play on the right or left side in the middle of defence is due to join Spurs next month. Daniel Levy reveals he wants Tottenham to win Champions League AND Premier League under 'super' Thomas Frank 6 The defender possesses an impressive leap Credit: Getty 6 He has earned four caps for Japan Credit: Getty A £5million fee has been agreed with Kawasaki which is a record fee for a Japanese player from the J-League. Most Spurs fans will understandably never have heard of Takai, but the expectation at this point is that he is coming to be part of the first-team squad this term rather than be loaned out. Frank and his coaching staff will, of course, assess him over the summer and make a final judgment call on that. Spurs are stacked at centre-back, after all - with six already at the club and Croatian teen sensation Luka Vuskovic joining this summer too - even though there is Champions League football to come this term. But Takai's relative experience at such a tender age has given Spurs confidence he can be involved from the off. The Yokohama-born defender already has four appearances for Japan, all coming in World Cup qualifiers, and has 78 senior matches under his belt already. Takai, who turns 21 in September, was pivotal to Kawasaki clinching the Japanese Super Cup last year and was named the league's Young Player of the Year. 6 Takai will be the 16th Japanese player to feature in the Premier League following in Shinji Kagawa's footsteps Credit: AFP 6 Brighton's Kaoru Mitoma, right, is currently starring in England's top-flight Credit: Getty Those feats have convinced the Spurs hierarchy that Takai can join the club's burgeoning group of young talent that includes Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray and the first signing of the summer, Mathys Tel. Takai's favoured shirt number is said to be No2 which Spurs have had available ever since Irish full-back Matt Doherty left the club two years ago. If and when the youngster makes his Premier League bow, he will become the 16th Japanese player to do so, following in the footsteps of Kaoru Mitoma, Shinji Kagawa and Junichi Inamoto. His capture continues Spurs' recruitment from the Far East of late, following last year's signing of South Korean starlet Yang Min-Hyeok, who went on loan to QPR in the second half of the season. Of course, Spurs have had the most famous Asian player in recent times starring for them over the last decade in Son Heung-min, though he could leave the club this summer. If Takai can have even a fifth of the impact skipper Son has had at Spurs, then the North Londoners will consider him one hell of a bargain.

Arsenal ‘mess' around Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres explained

Could Arsenal yet choose to prioritise an alternative centre-forward? It is still possible. They have continued to be linked with Ollie Watkins, the subject of a failed bid in January, but sources insist another offer for the Aston Villa striker is now unlikely. Arsenal have also looked at Brighton's João Pedro, as revealed by Telegraph Sport earlier this summer, among other attackers in Europe. As well as signing a No 9, Arsenal also want to strengthen their attack by adding a new winger. Long-term target Nico Williams is seemingly heading elsewhere, although any move for the Spaniard was always going to be extremely complicated financially. If there is a deal to be done for Real Madrid forward Rodrygo, Arsenal would be keen to do it. The Brazilian international is seen as one of Europe's most exciting wide players and his future at Madrid is far from clear. A move for the 24-year-old, if Arsenal are encouraged to make an offer, would not be expected to happen until much later in the window. Another potential winger target could be Chelsea's Noni Madueke. Telegraph Sport revealed last week that Madueke is on Arsenal's radar, although the strength of their interest remains unclear. Partey yet to be offered new deal Arsenal would almost certainly need another new central midfielder if Partey leaves the club as a free agent this summer. The 32-year-old ideally wants to stay at Arsenal but, as it stands, no agreement has been reached over a new deal. Partey is known to have interest from other clubs in Europe and in the Middle East, and he may find a more lucrative contract in another league. For all the focus on new signings, Arsenal are also keen to use this summer as a chance to reward their existing stars with new deals. Bukayo Saka and William Saliba are both in line for extensions, while Arsenal are finalising a new contract for teenage sensation Myles Lewis-Skelly. Ethan Nwaneri, another academy graduate, is also in talks over a new deal. The departure of Kieran Tierney and uncertainty over the futures of Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko will likely necessitate a defensive signing, too. Arsenal are long-term admirers of Ajax defender Jorrel Hato (Telegraph Sport first reported on their interest in January 2024) and have been linked with making another move for the Dutchman this summer. It remains to be seen whether they choose to rival other clubs for Hato's signature. Clearly, there is plenty of work to be done this summer. Arsenal may not have announced any signings yet, but their supporters should not worry. The wheels are in motion.
