Wisconsin basketball to face nonconference foe for first time in program history
The Wisconsin Badgers will tip off against the Campbell Fighting Camels on Nov. 3 at the Kohl Center, according to a report from college basketball analyst Rocco Miller.
Per Miller's report, which he released on Friday, the season-opening contest will mark the debut of Campbell head coach John Andrzejek. The November showdown will also be Wisconsin's first game played against Campbell in program history.
The news arrives roughly two weeks after Wisconsin's most recent nonconference announcement: an in-state meeting against the UW-Milwaukee Panthers on Dec. 30 in Madison.
Before both contests, the Badgers will open their season in late October with an exhibition against Oklahoma in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mixed in during the nonconference schedule, Wisconsin will also make the trek to Salt Lake City, Utah, for an NCAA Tournament rematch against BYU and an introduction to future NBA lottery pick AJ Dybantsa.
Gard's group will also venture to San Diego, California, for the Rady Children's Invitational in late November for games against Providence and the winner of TCU vs. Florida. That will precede a Dec. 6 bout vs. the Marquette Golden Eagles at home. Wisconsin will face its final nonconference teams when it laces up in mid-December against Villanova at the Fiserv Forum before welcoming Milwaukee to the Kohl Center.
The Fighting Camels now join that list of opponents in search of their first winning season since 2021-22. Campbell went 15-17 a season ago, which included a 10-8 mark in Coastal Athletic Association action. The crew finished with the fifth-best record in the CAA and ended the season with a 79-62 loss to Delaware on March 8.
Wisconsin, meanwhile, projects to trot out an entirely new unit during the 2025-26 season. That lineup, headlined by returners John Blackwell and Nolan Winter, plus transfers Nick Boyd, Andrew Rohde and Austin Rapp, will aim to build an early chemistry that can persist through the remainder of the regular season. Fresh off a 27-10 performance in 2024-25, UW will strive to earn another opportunity to compete in postseason action.

Broncos get great news on injury and holdout fronts as camp begins
Denver Broncos players were out on the practice field Wednesday for the first of two acclimation sessions ahead of the first official training camp practice on Friday, and there was good news across the board for Sean Payton's staff. First, the injury news. Broncos wide receiver A.T. Perry (ankle) was the only player on the roster who was not able to practice. Perry is currently on the physically unable to perform list, but he will be eligible to be activated once cleared by the team's medical staff. Everyone else on the team -- including wide receiver Devaughn Vele (leg), linebacker Dre Greenlaw (quad), long snapper Mitchell Fraboni (back), pass rusher Jonah Elliss (shoulder), linebacker Alex Singleton (ACL) and safety P.J. Locke (back) -- practiced in some capacity. Denver appears to be in very good health going into camp. Meanwhile, there's also good news on the holdout front as there was no news in that department. Broncos receiver Courtland Sutton, pass rusher Nik Bonitto and defensive linemen Zach Allen and John Franklin-Myers all reported to training camp. They are among the team's players scheduled to become free agents in 2026, and each of them are seeking contract extensions. Denver's front office has already started negotiations with Bonitto (according to the player) and with Sutton (according to KUSA-TV's Mike Klis). It's unknown if the team has opened discussions with Allen or JFM yet, but it feels like a good sign that none of the players are holding out. So far, so good as the Broncos enter training camp. ESPN says this early-season SEC matchup is Florida football's swing game for 2025
Florida football's swing game for the 2025 college football season will come during the Week 3 contest against the LSU Tigers, according to ESPN. On Wednesday, ESPN compiled a list of swing games for every Top 25 college football team and for the Gators, they decided to land on the matchup with the Tigers. A swing game is essentially the one game on the schedule that determines whether the season is going to be successful and an early-season road test at Death Valley under the lights certainly fits that criteria. Last season, Florida took care of business against LSU in the Swamp, winning 27-16. DJ Lagway threw for 226 yards and a touchdown while Jadan Baugh rushed six times for 65 yards and a score. But this year's factors–a road game, early-season matchup and new faces–present a bigger challenge for the Florida Gators. If head coach Billy Napier can prepare his team and come up with a game plan to win this road test, the Gators have a chance to build momentum and make some noise in the SEC. Here is everything ESPN's Harry Lyles Jr. said about why LSU is Florida's swing game for the 2025 season. Why ESPN said Florida's swing game is at LSU "Swing game: at LSU, Sept. 13" "Florida once again didn't get any favors from the schedule makers, and the Gators will get an early test in Baton Rouge against LSU. On paper, this feels like a year that Brian Kelly is going to have things put together in the Bayou, in part because he has the coveted returning starter at QB in Garrett Nussmeier. "Along with the incumbent talent, Kelly and his staff did a really good job in the transfer portal and will be a tough out every Saturday this fall. If Florida wins this game, or even loses a close one, it will bode well for the rest of the season." Michigan State hockey releases non-conference schedule
So, I guess this is MSU's non-conference schedule. Michigan State hockey is gearing up to defend their back to back Big Ten championships, while also looking to make a run in the NCAA Tournament, something the program has fell short on the past few years. Now, it appears that the first step towards the 2025-26 campaign has been discovered. The non-conference schedule for Michigan State in 2025-26 has been reportedly released, with the Spartans having a very difficult schedule on deck, featuring some fun road trips, cool home series and the Great Lakes Invitational. ' The home series for the Spartans include New Hampshire, Colgate and an exhibition with the U18 United State National Development Team. The away series include a trip to Boston to face Boston University and a trip to the UP to face Northern Michigan. It is worth noting the Spartans do not currently have anything scheduled for the first week of the season, so there may still be movement in that regard: Contact/Follow us @The SpartansWire on X (formerly Twitter) and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Michigan State news, notes and opinion.
