Reality TV star Whitney Purvis has announced the death of her teenage son, Weston, at age 16.
Purvis, who gained a legion of fans on the MTV show 16 And Pregnant, announced the death of her son on Monday, US time.
Weston's cause of death was not publicly disclosed. However, he did suffer from diabetes.
'This is so hard to write. My beautiful son, Weston, has passed away. He was only 16 years old,' Purvis wrote on Facebook.
'Life is so cruel and unfair. I just don't understand.
'Oh, my baby is gone and I don't know what to do with myself. He was so perfect. This is really my worst nightmare come true.
'How do you go on in life after losing a child? I'm in disbelief, this cannot be happening. I don't want it to be real. I would do anything just to hold him. Words just can't describe the pain I am feeling.
'I love you so much, Weston Owen Gosa. God, I love you so much. You are my heart. I was so proud of the young man you were becoming.
'I just can't go on without you. Rest in Peace, my angel. You are gone too soon. April 2, 2009 — June 2, 2025.'
Purvis confirmed an autopsy will be carried out.
Weston was born during the first season of 16 And Pregnant.
His father Weston Lewis Gosa Sr, who had been Purvis' boyfriend at the time, shared his own heartbreaking tribute.
'You'll forever be my lil boy,' Gosa wrote.
'I'll live the rest of my days with you in my heart. God, I wish this was all just a bad dream.
'You're free now from all the complications you had to deal with for the last six years or so. Fly high baby boy, daddy loves you more than you could have ever known.'
Purvis, who gave birth to a second son, River, in 2014, has received an outpouring of support from followers.
'Praying for you girl, sorry for your loss,' one person wrote online.
'Whitney, I am so sorry. We love you girl, and just know you've got an army behind you. We are literally here at any time,' another follower wrote.
And someone else said: 'Whitney, my entire soul aches for you ... I know he was so precious to you. Love you and praying big for you and your family.'

Alex Warren reveals Ordinary lyric even his wife thinks is 'sexual'

Alex Warren admits even his wife mistakenly thought Ordinary contained a "sexual" lyric. The 24-year-old star - who rose to fame on TikTok before the track because his first chart topper in the UK, US and beyond - has opened up about his huge hit single, and revealed his own partner Kouvr Annon is among the many people singing the wrong words to the track. He told MTV: "Everyone thinks that lyrics is not what it is. I said, 'Oh my life, how do ya?' As in it will fade into the next thing and to be like, 'You take my breath away, how do you do that?' "But everyone, including my wife when she first heard the songs, thinks it's 'All my life I'll do ya', in a sexual way... "And so my wife one day was like, 'Hey by the way my mum listens to this song, why did you write it like this?' " So many people have made the same mistake, so now Alex likes to sing the cheekier version live. He laughed: "I thought it was hilarious as everyone thought it was that and it wasn't, so now I just sing it how everyone thinks!" Despite his huge success, Alex admitted his rise to fame "doesn't feel real". He added: "It doesn't feel real and I don't feel like I deserve it in any way." The star can still remember being bullied at school after trying to serenade a girl he was with at the time. He recalled: "I was in fifth grade and I was dating this girl. "I decided to sing Grenade by Bruno Mars and dedicate it to her and I remember I walked right out, and I go, 'This is for...' and I said her name. "But immediately the stage fright hit and I sat there doing a dance, I looked super, super... it was bad, it was really bad. "And that is what kids made fun of me for all throughout middle school and high school, and I gave up when I turned 18 funny enough. (sic)"

Eminem feared dying amid addiction troubles

Eminem feared he might die amid his struggles with addiction. The 52-year-old rapper became addicted to prescription pills amid his sudden rise to stardom in the early 2000s, and Eminem has confessed to fearing for his life at one point in time. He said in his new Stans documentary: "I got into this vicious cycle of, 'I'm depressed so I need more pills,' and then your tolerance gets so high that you end up overdosing. "I woke up in the hospital and I didn't know what happened. I woke up in the hospital with tubes in me and s*** and I couldn't get up, I wanted to move. After the overdose, I came home like I needed something … like, I'm gonna die if I don't do anything." Eminem - whose real name is Marshall Mathers - actually missed the birth of his daughter due to his addiction struggles, and that proved to be a turning point in his life. The rap star - who is one of the best-selling artists of all time - shared: "I cried because it was like, 'Oh my god, I missed that.' I kept saying to myself, 'Do you want to f****** miss this again? Do you want to miss everything? If you can't do it for yourself, you f****** p****, at least do it for them.' I realised I'm never doing this again." Eminem's new documentary is directed by Steven Leckart, who jumped at the chance to work on the project. Speaking about the documentary, Steven told Us Weekly: "I grew up on hip hop in the '80s and '90s, and became a fan of Eminem's music in '99 and watched his rise on MTV. So when the opportunity came to me to have the conversation with him and his team to try to come up with a documentary based on one of the most iconic songs ever written, I was like, 'Yeah, of course, that sounds wonderful.' So then it was just a question of coming up with the right approach."
