Calgary police investigating Tuesday Beltline altercation between man and woman
An investigation is underway into an altercation that took place Tuesday night in the Beltline between a man and a woman.
At around 10:25 p.m., police responded to reports of the altercation at the intersection of Eighth Street and 13 Avenue S.W.
When they got there, the man and woman were gone.
After reviewing CCTV footage of the area, police say they have identified a vehicle whose occupants may have information relating to the incident.

It was a red, two-door Chevrolet Camaro with silver rims. Tuesday night, it was parked on the east curb of Eighth Street S.W. close to 13 Ave. S.W.
The car was last seen just before 10:25 p.m., going west on 13 Ave. S.W.

OFM investigators wrapping up investigation into Barrie house explosion
Emergency crews tend to the scene of a reported house explosion in Barrie, Ont., on Sat., Aug. 9, 2025. Fire officials say investigators with the Ontario Fire Marshal's (OFM) office are wrapping up their probe into a fatal house explosion that happened in a south end neighbourhood in Barrie over the weekend. The explosion Saturday morning turned the home into a pile of debris, and caused damage damage to neighbouring houses and vehicles. Firefighters battled intense flames and thick, black smoke after the deafening bang shook the quiet street. Police confirmed a 45-year-old man was located in 'what was left of the home' at 65 Marshall Street and taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. On Monday, police say they learned he had passed away. A GoFundMe campaign launched following the explosion states a woman and her two daughters, who were not home at the time, are now left picking up the pieces. There was no mention of the man who died, however, several social media posts indicate he lived in the home. Officials have yet to confirm his identity. Exactly what caused the explosion has yet to be determined. 'The investigation into the cause of the explosion and fire remains under investigation by the Office of the Fire Marshal, who is being assisted by detectives from the Barrie Police Criminal Investigation Division,' Barrie police stated in an email to CTV News Tuesday. Woman who was injured in Urbainville shooting has passed away: P.E.I. RCMP
A second person who was injured by shots fired in the western part of Prince Edward Island last week has died, police have confirmed. The P.E.I. RCMP says a 50-year-old woman who was involved in the shooting in Urbainville last Friday has died after going to hospital with serious injuries. An 35-year-old unidentified man was also pronounced dead at the scene last week. 'Our thoughts are with the families of both victims involved in this incident,' police said in a news release. 'The families of both victims asked for respect and privacy during this difficult time.' Officers responded to reports of shots fired into a vehicle on Route 125 (Hackmatack Road) around 8 p.m. on Friday. They said a vehicle involved in the incident appeared to have crashed into a ditch and struck a telephone pole. Police believe the man who died was the driver. The cause of his death is still under investigation, but police did confirm he was injured by the shots fired. 'Police are also investigating a burned vehicle located in Saint Lawrence, near Miminegash in Prince County, which was reported to RCMP at approximately 8:15 a.m. on Saturday August 9. Man charged with apartment break-ins in Windsor Park, St. Vital after his DNA found at scenes: police
A 33-year-old man has been charged in connection with four same-day break-ins of apartment mail boxes, storage and bike lockers in Windsor Park and St. Vital — all based on DNA police say he left at one of the crime scenes. Police arrested the man on Monday after DNA he allegedly left at a scene came up as a match in the RCMP's national DNA data bank's convicted offender index, according to a Winnipeg police news release on Tuesday. The release suggests the man was involved in break-ins and thefts at an apartment on St. Anne's Road, two on Beliveau Road and another on Worthington Avenue on March 24. Police said suspects forced their way into the St. Anne's apartment and broke into tenant mailboxes. Mail and three bikes were stolen from the basement parking garage, police say, and there was $2,000 in damage to the mailboxes. The two apartment break-ins on Beliveau resulted in the theft of mail from tenant mailboxes as well. Tenant storage lockers were broken into at the Worthington apartment building, too. That caused $1,600 in damages and an undetermined amount of property was stolen, according to police. Investigators found suspect DNA at one of the scenes and used that to search the RCMP DNA data bank. That pointed to the suspect, who was arrested Aug. 1 based on a DNA warrant and a blood sample was taken, according to Winnipeg police. He was arrested again Aug. 11 after the blood analysis results came in. Investigators also seized a pocket knife from him as evidence, police said. He remains in custody.
