SUN SAVERS Five cheap activities to keep kids occupied this summer hols
AVOID school holiday boredom by planning ahead now.
But before you splash out on expensive activity sets and magazines, try these brilliant DIY alternatives.
And keep them stashed away, ready for those inevitable cries of 'I'm bored' . . .
DOUGH THIS: Whip up a batch of playdough in minutes with ingredients you might already have in the cupboard.
Mix 8 tbsp plain flour, 2 tbsp table salt, 1 tbsp vegetable oil and 60ml of warm water in a bowl until a dough forms.
Split into three and add a dash of food colouring to each dough ball and knead.
Store in old, clean yoghurt pots or airtight containers.
CRAFTY PLAN: Your recycling bin is your best friend.
Old cereal boxes can be turned into a canvas to paint, while toilet rolls can become binoculars when taped together and decorated.
Head to Poundland for PVA glue, tape and paint sets for £1 if you don't have them already.
Keep everything in a storage box, ready for dull days.
CLEVER COLOURING: Printable activities are a lifesaver and wildlifewatch.org.uk/activities has an amazing selection of free activity kits and animal colouring-in sheets.

MEMORY SAVER: Create your own custom memory game or version of Snap using plain card, £1, The Works.
Use a felt tip to draw matching shapes on pairs of cards or you could use stickers you already have at home.
Lay the cards face down on the floor and watch as they try to remember where the matching pairs are.
GO WILD: Encourage outdoor ad- ventures with a home-made explorer kit stored in a plastic bag, tote or rucksack.
Plan a scavenger hunt by writing out a list of things that can be found outdoors, such as ladybirds, soil, spiders etc on paper, which kids can tick off.
Also add plain paper and wax crayons for leaf rubbing.
Place the paper over a leaf and rub the crayon over the top to see the leaf come to life.

A spokesperson for the couple said: "The Duke and Duchess of Westminster are thrilled to announce the birth of their baby daughter. "Both the duchess and Cosima are doing well. "The duke and duchess now look forward to spending this special time together as a family." They announced the pregnancy in March, with a spokesperson saying: "The couple are delighted with the news and are very much looking forward to starting a family together." The Duke is godfather to Prince George, and also reportedly to Prince Archie. During the couple's wedding at Chester Cathedral in June 2024, William acted as Usher. Harry wasn't in attendance amid his long-running rift with his brother. Hugh had previously been considered one of the country's most eligible bachelors. He became an instant billionaire when he inherited his title, and the historic Grosvenor Estate, aged 25 following the death of his father from a heart attack in 2016. Duke of Westminster's wedding exposed Harry & William's brutal rift - one encounter would've been excruciating, says pro His property company, Grosvenor Group, owns hundreds of acres of land in Mayfair and Belgravia, as well as major city developments like Liverpool's One shopping centre. In 2020, Hugh donated £12.5 million to the Covid-19 relief effort across NHS Charities Together, as well as across medical research and development. 3 Prince William acted as usher at their wedding at Chester Cathedral Credit: Getty

She TWICE had to turn down huge cash prizes because the rules of golf mean she cannot take prize money while still an amateur. At the start of July Woad won the Women's Irish Open by six shots but because she was an amateur, she couldn't receive the £58,000 prize. Woad then missed out on £400,000 in prize money for coming third at the Evian Championship, the fourth women's major of the year. ‘Time goes so fast' – Tyson Fury posts incredible throwback from 2013 showing off ripped abs and buzz cut hair
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) TYSON FURY posted an incredible throwback from 2013 - when he had ripped abs and a buzz cut hairdo. The Gypsy King, 25 at the time, was a heavyweight contender on the rise only two years away from his famous victory over Wladimir Klitschko. He posted: "Throw back 2013. Timegoes so fast, live life and enjoy the now as we spend all our lives looking to the future & forgetting to live in the current time zone. "Life is short enjoy the 1s who count and dont let anything hold you back! be the best version of yourself on the daily, All praise to god in jesus name." Fury dethroned Klitschko of the WBA, IBF and WBO world titles in an iconic 2015 upset in Germany. But he dropped all the belts just two years later amid a battle with depression and substance abuse that saw him balloon to 30 STONE. Fury returned in 2018 and drew with Deontay Wilder for the WBC title - before winning the belt in their 2020 rematch. He lost the gold in May to Oleksandr Usyk - who became the first four-belt undisputed heavyweight champ. And after losing the December rematch, Fury, 36, retired a month later. CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS But perhaps unsurprisingly - having hung up his gloves four times before - Fury announced he will make a comeback next year. He said: "I do miss it, every single day I wake up in the morning and miss it. Tyson Fury leaps to Daniel Dubois' defence after Oleksandr Usyk defeat "I've been away seven months, missed it everyday. I'm open to offers at the moment. "I'm not going to be doing any comebacks this year, that's for sure. I'm busy as you can see I've got Netflix here. "I'm filming At Home With The Furys season two. Come on! And then next year the big GK is going to make a f***ing comeback. "The takeover! I'm gonna be 37 in about three weeks so I'm going to be the oldest swinger with all these young boys coming up it's going to be difficult. But I believe I can put on some very good nights still." 5 Fury stunned Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 Credit: -- 5 He knocked out Deontay Wilder in 2020 to win the WBC title Credit: Getty
