Boney Kapoor Shares Emotional Note After Mother's Death: 'She Lived A Joyful Life'

Nirmal Kapoor, wife of the late producer Surinder Kapoor, was the matriarch of the Kapoor family. She is survived by her children — Boney, Anil, Sanjay, and Reena Kapoor Marwah.
The funeral for Nirmal Kapoor is scheduled to be held at Pawan Hans Crematorium on May 3 at 11:30 am.
Boney Kapoor issued an emotional statement in the wee hours of Saturday, hours after his mother, Nirmal Kapoor's death. He took to his Instagram handle and shared a note which talked about his mother's legacy, who was 90 when she breathed her last on Friday.
'Passed away peacefully on the 2nd of May, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. She lived a full and joyful life, leaving behind four devoted children, loving daughters-in-law, a caring son-in-law, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a lifetime of treasured memories," the statement read.
'Her generous spirit and boundless love touched all who knew her. She will remain in our hearts–forever cherished, forever missed. Boney, Anil, Reena, Sanjay, Sunita, Sandeep, Maheep, Mohit, Akshay, Sonam, Arjun, Rhea, Harshvarrdhan, Anshula, Janhvi, Shanaya, Khushi, Jahaan, Antara, Anand, Aashita, Karan Thea, Vayu, Ayra, Yuvaan," it added.

After Nirmal's death, several Bollywood personalities including Rani Mukerji, Anupam Kher, Javed Akhtar and Rajkumar Santoshi arrived at the residence to offer condolences. A video of Janhvi Kapoor being comforted by her boyfriend Shikhar Pahariya had also surfaced online, as she mourned the loss of her grandmother.
