"Factory of terrorism": BJP's Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi hits out at Pakistan

India Gazette08-05-2025

New Delhi [India], May 8 (ANI): Former Union Cabinet minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Thursday hit out at Pakistan amid the escalating tensions with India, saying that the neighbouring country was a 'factory of terrorism' and its destruction was 'beneficial' for humanity.
He said that the security forces were engaged in combating and punishing terrorists, who destroyed the lives of family members of the victims in the ghastly Pahalgam terror attack.
'The monsters who destroyed the lives of our sisters...their reigns are coming to an end today. Terrorists and their masters are being punished. It is clear that they are scared. Pakistan has become such a factory of terrorism that its destruction is beneficial for humanity. The sheltering of terrorism and terrorists (by Pakistan) has turned out to be a challenge to peace across the globe. This is why eliminating terrorism is a Dharma Yudh,' Naqvi told ANI.
'Our security forces are strongly combating and punishing terrorists. This is a changed India, which will take action against terrorism,' he added.
The senior BJP leader further said that the country stands together in times of distress while accusing some people on social media of indulging in 'anti-social' activity.
'The entire country is together, and this is the beauty of our country that whenever there's an attack of any kind, we stand together. However, some people on social media are indulging in anti-social activity. I want to advise them that our fight is against terrorists, but not with people who love our country. Those who indulge in such acts are acting as Pakistan's proxy partner,' Naqvi said.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey requested the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (IB) to 'shut down' the social media accounts of people who possess 'Pakistani mentality'.
In a post on X, he said that freedom of expression was not applicable during the war.
'This is a time of war; freedom of expression does not apply now. @MIB_India @MIB_Hindi should shut down people with Pakistani mentality on social media, YouTube. They are making their nonsense an international issue,' Dubey posted on X.
Meanwhile, the Indian Army have proportionately responded to the unprovoked small-arms and artillery guns firing by the Pakistani Army across the Line of Control (LoC) during the night of May 7 and May 8, as per the officials.
The Pakistan Army had resorted to firing in areas opposite in Kupwara and Baramulla districts and Uri and Akhnoor sectors in Jammu and Kashmir.
'During the night of May 7-8, Pakistan Army posts resorted to unprovoked fire using small arms and artillery guns across the LoC in areas opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri and Akhnoor areas in J&K. The Indian Army responded proportionately,' the statement from the Indian Army stated. (ANI)

Govt., Opposition trade charges over Digha Jagannath temple prasad in West Bengal

A fresh controversy has erupted over the distribution of prasad (holy offering) at the newly constructed Jagannath temple at Digha, with Opposition parties alleging the West Bengal government was distributing 'sweets from local shops' as 'prasad' of the temple. The Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, accused the West Bengal government of playing with the sentiments of Hindu devotees. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, while inaugurating the temple in April 2025, had directed her government that prasad from the temple should be distributed across the State. Also read | The tussle for temple turf In accordance with the Chief Minister's directive, the District Magistrate distributes prasad through the 'Duare Sarkar' scheme of doorstep delivery of rations under the Public Distribution System. 'All District Magistrates were ordered to distribute prasad through Duare ration. The boxes of sweets being bought from the local sweet shop is basically demeaning Hindu dharma,' Mr. Adhikari said. The BJP leader also said the State government had allocated ₹20 for a packet of prasad. He had nothing against the allocation of funds for the distribution of prasad, Mr. Adhikari said, but added that the way sweets from local shops were being distributed as prasad amounted to hurting religious sentiments. The West Bengal government was quick to dismiss the allegations raised by the BJP leadership. State's Minister for Information and Cultural Affairs Indranil Sen said the allegations made by the Leader of the Opposition were a 'pack of lies'. 'Everyone does not have the resources to visit the Jagannath temple [in Digha] and have the prasad offered at the temple, and that's why it was planned to distribute prasad to every family of the State. The BJP is now trying to stoop low and demean that,' Mr. Sen said. The BJP had become 'scared of the enthusiasm and frenzy around the Jagannath temple', Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Kunal Ghosh said, attributing the comments by Opposition leaders to this. More than 20 lakh people have visited the temple in the month since its doors were opened for common visitors on April 30, according to the organisers. Built on the lines of the famous 12th century Jagannath temple in Puri, the Digha Jagannath temple has also attracted controversy, with the West Bengal temple authorities using the term 'Jagannath Dham' for the temple, a move opposed by the neighbouring State of Odisha. The Digha Jagannath temple project, conceived and executed by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at a cost of ₹250 crore to the State exchequer, has been witnessing large crowds of devotees over the past several weeks.

Pakistan cannot launch nuclear bombs from sea while India can do it easily, this is due to...

(Image: New Delhi: There are 9 countries in the world that have nuclear weapons and these 9 countries include both India and Pakistan. Time and again, Pakistan has threatened to use its nuclear weapons against India. One such instance was during the recent tension between India and Pakistan, when Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif threatened nuclear attack on India. Despite having nuclear weapons, Pakistan has many weaknesses, one of them is that Pakistan cannot fire nuclear bombs from the sea. Let us tell you what is that weakness due to which Pakistan cannot fire nuclear bombs from the sea. There are only a few countries in the world that have the capability of nuclear triad, that is, such countries have the capability to launch nuclear attacks from all three mediums, land, air and water, in which the first one is land-based missiles, with which nuclear attacks are carried out. The second number includes bombs dropped from aircraft and the third number includes submarines or missiles launched from the sea to attack the enemy from the sea. Pakistan is capable of attacking in the first two ways, but if it comes to a nuclear attack from the sea, then Pakistan's weakness comes out in the open. Pakistan does not have any nuclear submarine yet that can launch a nuclear missile from inside the sea. This is Pakistan's biggest weakness. India has the missile capability of submarine launched ballistic missile (SLBM) like K-15 and K-4, which are capable of launching a nuclear attack from inside the sea. On the other hand, Pakistan is still far behind in SLBM technology. Due to low defense budget and lack of technology, Pakistan has not been able to acquire this capability yet. Along with this, the Pakistani Navy is smaller and less developed than India.
