NEWTON, Iowa – Nolan Siegel will not compete in Sunday's Farm To Finish 275 at Iowa Speedway after IndyCar Medical did not clear him to drive.
Arrow McLaren announced there won't be a substitute driver in the No. 6 Chevrolet for the 275-lap race, so 26 cars will start instead of 27.
Arrow McLaren issued a statement three hours before Sunday's race at Iowa Speedway on July 13.
"Following an on-track incident on Lap 248 of yesterday's race at Iowa Speedway, Nolan Siegel has not been cleared to compete by the INDYCAR Medical Team. The team has made the decision to not run the No. 6 NTT DATA Arrow McLaren Chevrolet without its team driver in today's race. Nolan will continue to be evaluated, and we will stay in close contact with the Medical Team as he recovers.'
The crash in the fourth-turn wall on Lap 248 was so severe, it damaged the SAFER Barrier that Red Flagged the race so repairs could be made.
"There's no place I'd rather be than out there driving today, especially from P5, one of my best starting positions of the season,' Siegel said. 'I know I'm in good hands with the INDYCAR Medical Team and thank them for the great care they provide us drivers.
'Most of all, I feel for the 6 car crew. They gave me a rocket this weekend and put in a ton of work last night with hopes we'd be racing today. They deserve to be out there fighting for podium, and we'll be back soon to do just that.'
Tony Kanaan is the Arrow McLaren Team Principal and because of the short turnaround from Saturday evening's Synk 275 and Sunday's Farm To Finish 275, it was best to leave the ride vacant for Sunday.
'I've been there, I know how Nolan feels not racing today,' Kanaan said. 'It's the worst feeling in the world.
'The most important thing, though, is that he's fit to race, and unfortunately that's not the case today. It was a tough decision to park the car, but we've been through this before.
'We just found out this morning he's not cleared, and we decided the best thing for the team is to not rush into switching drivers this weekend. It's too much of a shuffle and unnecessary stress when we're right back to racing in Toronto in a week.
'After today, we'll have to make a contingency plan in case Nolan's not cleared to race in Toronto, but today, this is the best for the team.'

Summer League Recap: Clippers 106, Bucks 91

The Milwaukee Bucks (1-2) have now dropped two games in a row, likely ending any hopes for them to play in the Summer League semifinal, losing to the Los Angeles Clippers (2-0) 106-91. Chris Livingston kept up his streak as the leading scorer for the Bucks, with 21 points and four rebounds. The big men duo of Pete Nance and Bogoljub Marković put up double-digit numbers for Milwaukee with 18 and 14 points, respectively. Patrick Baldwin led the Clippers with 22. Box Score Advertisement Game Recap After a rough game against the Cavaliers, undrafted free agent Cormac Ryan was responsible for the first seven points for the Bucks, hitting a three and dishing out a couple of assists to Tyler Smith and Pete Nance. That was all part of a 7-2 run for the Bucks, but the Clippers responded with an 8-0 run to take the lead. From there, things stayed close with neither team getting a lead bigger than six. Andre Jackson Jr. woke up a bit offensively to end the frame, scoring five points, including a rare three-pointer. His two free throws helped the Bucks hold onto a one-point lead heading into the second quarter, 27-26. Patrick Baldwin Jr. continued the strong momentum for the Clippers, hitting back-to-back threes to give the Clippers their first lead of the night, putting them up 32-27. That is as big as LA's lead would get, with the Bucks keeping it within one to two possessions. Milwaukee was finally able to retake the lead for a brief moment with a 6-2 run, finished off by a Bogoljub Marković slam dunk. Zavier Simpson and Cam Christie erased the Bucks' one-point lead within seconds, with Simpson scoring on a layup and Christie nailing a three. Ryan wasn't able to get a shot up at the buzzer, as the Clippers would take a 51-47 lead heading into the locker room. Nance started to catch some fire in the early parts of the third quarter, with him scoring five points to bring the game back within three. That helped spark Bucks overall, getting within one after a Tyler Smith putback layup with 6:32 to go in the frame. AJax seemingly found his footing in the third, scoring a layup and then a sweet alley-oop dunk with him cutting back door. Despite the Bucks' best efforts, the Clippers continued to hold them off from tying the game or taking the lead, with Milwaukee getting within two points several times throughout the stanza. With 1:55 to go, the Bucks seemed to find some rhythm offensively, going on an 8-2 run to end the quarter. A three from Marković gave the Bucks the lead back, and they took that into the fourth quarter, 74-73. Advertisement The fourth quarter got off to as terrible a start as you could imagine for the Bucks, with the Clippers going on a 15-0 run to take a 14-point lead. The Bucks wouldn't score their first points until the 5:16 mark, with Livingston hitting a step-back midrange jumper. All told, the Bucks went 0/10 to open the quarter. Milwaukee wouldn't go quietly, though, as they rattled off a 10-2 run to bring the game back within single digits at 95-86 with 2:48 to play in the fourth. Yet, the Bucks' offense stalled again, only scoring two points on a couple of Ryan free throws after he was elbowed in the face on a flagrant foul. Outside of that, it was all Clippers, as they went on a 7-2 run to mercifully put this one to an end—merciful to the people at home watching so they didn't have to listen to Jared Greenberg and Channing Frye anymore. Stat That Stood Out AJax had a much-needed good game after struggling out of the gate in his first two appearances in this Summer League. The former second-round pick scored nine points, dished out six assists (but had five turnovers), four rebounds, two steals, and a block. The CV90 is a great vehicle, so why doesn't the US buy it?

The U.S. military has a long history of developing vehicles it never actually fields. The Army's Future Combat Systems died on the vine. The Ground Combat Vehicle was canceled before production. The Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle program has been stopped and started more times than most troops will change duty stations in a career. And of course, the M10 Booker, the not-light-tank the Army had to have, was killed off after about 80 were delivered. It is no wonder that whenever we cover the topic of U.S. vehicles on our YouTube channel, the comments are flooded with the same question: 'Why doesn't the U.S. just buy the CV90?' That is a valid query. The CV90 is a proven infantry fighting vehicle used by several NATO allies. It is modular, combat-tested and recently underwent a significant upgrade. So why can't the Pentagon stop with the seemingly endless programs that never actually produce a viable vehicle and just buy the Swedish CV90? The answer has little to do with whether the vehicle is any good and a lot to do with how the U.S. buys weapons, what it prioritizes in doctrine, and how the military-industrial complex operates. The CV90 was developed in the 1980s by Sweden's Hägglunds, now part of BAE Systems. It was designed with fighting the Soviet Union in mind to be fast, survivable and capable in a variety of terrains. Since entering service in 1994, it's become one of the most widely adopted infantry fighting vehicles in NATO. It comes in multiple variants, ranging from the traditional infantry fighting vehicle with an autocannon on it to command and control, mortar carrier, reconnaissance models, and many more, depending on the customer's requirements. The CV90 even comes with a variety of main weapons, starting at 30mm and going all the way up to 120mm. On paper, it checks a lot of boxes on the Pentagon's wishlist for an armored vehicle. So why not just buy it and move on? The most unsexy answer: money and politics. The Pentagon doesn't just buy vehicles, it buys programs. Those multi-billion dollar contracts aren't just for tanks or jets, they are for replacement parts, depot maintenance, technical manuals, training curriculum, simulators, everything necessary to keep a weapon functioning. This translates into jobs and decades of sustainment work. Buying the CV90 off the shelf would mean outsourcing production and all those program benefits to Europe. The U.S. could license the design to be built here in the United States, like we do with the UH-72 Lakota helicopters, but that would require significant investment into a weapon we don't have control over. Doctrine must also be considered. When the Pentagon buys a new weapon, it usually builds the vehicle around current doctrine, not the other way around. For instance, U.S. armored formations are built around combined arms maneuver. Bradleys are designed to fight alongside Abrams tanks, supported by artillery, drones and airpower, all feeding into a massive command-and-control network. That network assumes certain levels of system cooperation, speed, and firepower that aren't always a perfect match with off-the-shelf foreign vehicles, no matter how good they are. This brings us to the issue of interoperability with U.S. systems. The CV90 is built around NATO standards, but the U.S. military often takes that a step further with its own encrypted communications suites, battlefield management systems, Blue Force Tracker integration, electronic warfare and signals intelligence kits, and remote weapon stations that are all custom-fitted to American platforms. Retrofitting those systems into a CV90 isn't impossible — it's just time-consuming, expensive, and requires creating a new U.S.-only variant. At that point, you might as well be developing a new vehicle from scratch. Finally, we can't forget that the Bradley does exist and its capabilities overlap heavily with the CV90. Military planners aren't going to buy a foreign system that is very similar to the domestic one they already have hundreds of. In the latest YouTube video, we go over these reasons and many more that apply not just to the CV90, but other foreign weapon platforms that we admire, but will never purchase. FAIRBORN, OHIO - MAY 9: Charlotte Flair speaks during SmackDown at Nutter Center on May 9, 2025 in ... More Fairborn, Ohio. (Photo by Michael Marques/WWE via Getty Images) Naomi owned an absolutely amazing night of professional wrestling at WWE Evolution in Atlanta, and long-time friend Charlotte Flair acknowledged her. In case you missed it, Naomi lost to Jade Cargill in a No Holds Barred match but cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase and became the Women's World Heavyweight Champion to crash a classic main event between Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky. After Naomi's big night, tributes and love poured in online, but perhaps most notably, Charlotte took to social media and posted a simple but statement-making image of the new champion. Pictures are said to be worth a thousand words, and this is an example. Almost everyone in the wrestling community chimed in to congratulate the new champion, who has been one of the most consistent performers in WWE over the past decade-plus. Naomi hasn't held a top-level singles title in WWE since 2013, but despite the long drought between singles gold, she holds quite a few important distinctions. Pro wrestling content creator Joey Karni pointed out Naomi's cross-promotional championship record. In addition to achieving top-level status with two different promotions, Naomi also became the first Black woman to win the Money in the Bank match and to successfully cash in the briefcase. Naomi had performed in four other MITB matches. Ember Moon and Sasha Banks/Mercedes Moné have been in MITB matches, but neither won. Charlotte and Naomi go way back in pro wrestling and WWE. Naomi began her in-ring career in 2009, while Charlotte started in 2012. Charlotte's place as a second-generation talent after her iconic father Ric Flair was never really in doubt. She worked hard to become arguably the greatest women's wrestler ever, but Naomi's road to her current spot has been more arduous. At the outset of her run with WWE, Naomi was reduced to less significant roles with the company. She was a Funkadactyl, which was essentially a backup dancer for Brodus Clay, a male professional wrestler who was signed with WWE at the time. Naomi battled to become an in-ring performer, then a singles performer and title contender. She and Sasha Banks rose to become WWE Women's Tag Team Champions but became frustrated with their situation, and they walked out of WWE on May 16, 2022, during a live taping of Monday Night Raw in Norfolk, Virginia. According to reports and WWE's own statement, they were scheduled to participate in a Six-Pack Challenge to determine the next challenger for the Raw Women's Championship. Citing creative differences and concerns over how they and the titles were being booked, they left their tag belts on John Laurinaitis' desk and walked out before the match aired. WWE released a public statement during the live broadcast. WWE announcer Michael Cole said, 'Naomi and Sasha had let us all down.' Both were suspended indefinitely just days later. Their merchandise was pulled from WWE Shop, and the Women's Tag Titles were vacated. Banks wound up going to New Japan Pro Wrestling before settling in as one of the biggest names with All Elite Wrestling. Naomi landed with Impact Wrestling, performing under her given name, Trinity Fatu, but she returned to WWE in 2024. Both women bet on themselves, and it seems clear they are winning. It says something when a peer and fellow legend like Charlotte gives public praise. Congratulations to Trinity for reaching the top of her industry.
