Marc Marquez wins sixth consecutive Moto GP race

Six-time MotoGP champion Marc Marquez won the Austrian Grand Prix for the first time in his career to take a 142-point lead over brother Alex in the championship.
It was the Spaniard's sixth consecutive grand prix victory, having won Saturday's sprint from the second row.
Not since 2014 had the 32-year-old claimed six wins in a row, with Marquez now unbeaten since the British Grand Prix in May.
"I'm super, super happy to finally take the first victory here in Austria," said Marquez.
"We found a good setup, especially with the used tyres, as we saw with Marco [Bezzecchi] in the first part.
"He was super strong, but then I just waited. I tried in the beginning, but it was too risky. Then I preferred to wait and attack in the end."
Bezzecchi led for much of the race after starting from pole position before a late surge from the Spaniard.
The Italian then had to settle for third behind Gresini Ducati rider Fermin Aldeguer, who took his best MotoGP result.
With nine rounds left, Marquez is now firmly in the driving seat to claim a seventh MotoGP crown.

LIV Golf LIV Golf Indianapolis: Jon Rahm Shoots 60, Claims Individual Championship Published Aug. 17, 2025 5:12 p.m. ET share facebook x reddit link WESTFIELD, Ind. – In the final round at LIV Golf Indianapolis, Legion XIII Captain Jon Rahm chased down Torque GC Captain Joaquin Niemann to become the 2025 season-long Individual Champion. Rahm's stellar 11-under 60, his lowest round of the season, got him into a playoff with Sebastián Muñoz for the event title, which Muñoz won on the first playoff hole. But it wasn't enough to keep Rahm from claiming the season-long Individual Championship. Rahm has now finished the season at the top of the standings in both of his seasons with LIV Golf. Muñoz, who on Friday shot the first 59 in professional golf history that included a double-bogey, shot a final round 6-under 65 before winning the playoff. Despite having five wins this season, Niemann came up short in the season-long race against Rahm. Niemann shot a 5-under 66, which wasn't quite enough to fend off Rahm's thunderous charge. Torque GC earned their first team victory since LIV Golf Greenbrier in 2023. The team shot a cumulative score of 64-under for the week, which was the lowest overall team score in LIV Golf history, beating the previous record of 53-under. ADVERTISEMENT Throughout the final round, Majesticks GC co-captains Lee Westwood, Henrik Stenson and Ian Poulter, as well as HyFlyers GC teammates Andy Ogletree and Brendan Steele, and Mito Pereira of Torque competed fiercely in the relegation race. Ultimately, Stenson, Ogletree, and Pereira could not climb out of the Drop Zone and now face relegation from the LIV Golf League for 2026. Poulter surged with birdies on four of his final five holes at LIV Golf Indianapolis, narrowly escaping the Drop Zone. His late charge, however, pushed his teammate Stenson into the dreaded relegation zone. TEAM SCORES LIV Golf's new scoring format this season now involves all four scores now counting in every round in the team competition. Liverpool to submit new offer for star 'very keen' to join

Time is running out in the transfer window and Liverpool are still in the race to complete multiple deals. It's been a long summer, and the next two weeks are going to be even crazier than anything that has happened in the lead up to this. 🚨2025/26 LFC x adidas range🚨 LFC x adidas Shop the away range TODAY LFC x adidas Shop the home range today! Richard Hughes wanted to rebuild Arne Slot's side this summer and the final pieces in the jigsaw are still yet to be secured. The first of those jigsaw pieces is Alexander Isak. He's been Liverpool's dream target for a long time and next week we should find a resolution to the saga that has been going on for the longest time. Liverpool may add another winger to the equation as well. Although it remains to be seen whether with such little time left they can find the right target. But the other key piece of the puzzle is Marc Guehi. 🔴 Like Isak, the Crystal Palace captain has long been on Liverpool's radar. In fact, the Reds have wanted to sign him since the beginning of the summer. Guehi has one year left on his contract and it's clear that he doesn't want to extend. He wants to leave the club. Whether it's in the next two weeks or next summer, the end result will be the same. So, it's in Palace's interest to make sure that he goes this summer. At least this way they won't lose him for nothing but they can actually get compensated for making Guehi into the player he is today. Liverpool have been working on a deal to do exactly that. They haven't yet succeeded but it looks like they are going to make another push for the Crystal Palace star.
