John Krasinski Confirms A QUIET PLACE: PART III Is Coming and We Have a Release Date — GeekTyrant

Geek Tyrant3 days ago
The silence is officially breaking again. John Krasinski has finally confirmed that A Quiet Place: Part III is happening, and horror fans can mark their calendars for July 9, 2027. Krasinski will write and direct the film.
Following the tense cliffhanger ending of A Quiet Place Part II , fans have been curious to know what's next for the Abbott family. While the franchise temporarily shifted focus to the prequel A Quiet Place: Day One , which introduced new characters and backstory, the mainline story has been sitting in a quiet corner, until now.
Krasinski made the announcement on Instagram, ending the silence with a single, powerful reveal: a release date.
The wait for the third installment has largely come down to timing and availability. Krasinski, who not only starred in the first film but directed both it and its sequel, has become one of the busiest actors in Hollywood. According to producer Brad Fuller, that's been a major hurdle. He previously said:
'We're starting to put it together right now. You know, when we made the first one, John [Krasinski] didn't have a lot on his plate. He had just come off The Office, and he wanted to be a director. Now, he's so in demand, and it's hard to get him. He's making a movie now, so as soon as he finishes that, hopefully, he will turn his attention to [A Quiet Place 3].'
With that confirmation, it feels like the wheels are finally in motion. Of course, the big question is what direction the story will take. The second film set up major possibilities, especially as it expanded the world and introduced other survivors.
One character fans are hoping might return is Joseph Quinn's Eric from Day One . Given the prequel's ending, which saw Eric leaving NYC with Djimon Hounsou's Henri, who later appears in Part II, the threads are there.
It's unclear what Krasinski's plans are, but he might be keeping each chapter focused and isolated. But considering how Hollywood loves interconnected storytelling right now, it's not out of the question.

James Gunn Reveals the DC Character Kevin Feige Told Him He Wants to See in a Movie — GeekTyrant

In the ever-entwined worlds of Marvel and DC, it's not every day that Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige publicly roots for a character from the rival camp. But that's exactly what happened recently. While we now live in the timeline where James Gunn is shaping the new DCU, the Guardians of the Galaxy director revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that his longtime Marvel collaborator had a strong opinion on who he'd love to see show up in a sequel to Superman. The name Feige dropped was None other than, Bizarro. Gunn said: "It's funny, [Marvel Studios President] Kevin Feige wrote me yesterday, He says he hopes his old pal Bizarro... [Laughs] He wants to see Bizarro." With how Superman ends, Feige clearly saw the seeds being planted just like the rest of us. We already saw hints of duality in David Corenswet's performance, playing both Superman and his twisted clone Ultraman. While Gunn hasn't confirmed that Ultraman will evolve into Bizarro, the clues are definitely there for fans paying close attention. Gunn teased some deeper layers that were originally planned for Ultraman's portrayal, even noting a scrapped element that leaned further into the tragic figure trope. he said: "There used to be some sadder stuff in there at some point that I got from the script that I really liked. I didn't have time for everything. … I don't know if you got prosthetics on [as Ultraman]. 'He's got a chin that's jutting out, his ears poke out, he's got one eye kind of going in a little direction. [Luthor] took him out of the oven a little too quickly or something." That paints a picture of a flawed creation, which lines up beautifully with the classic Bizarro archetype: a well-meaning but broken mirror image of Superman, misunderstood and manipulated. There's emotional depth just waiting to be mined here in the DCU, and with Gunn's love for offbeat, "freakish" characters, Bizarro feels like the perfect fit for his storytelling sensibilities. While the DCU Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters lineup already includes Eric Frankenstein and the Creature Commandos , the idea of exploring Bizarro's painful identity crisis through Superman's lens could take the emotional stakes even higher. We're not saying Ultraman will become Bizarro. But if he does, it would be an interesting move. It sets up an arc of identity, empathy, and what it means to be "defective" in a world that glorifies perfection. You can bet Clark Kent would be the one to face that conflict head-on. So yeah, Feige wants Bizarro in the DCU, and honestly, who can blame him?

Spike Lee's Highest 2 Lowest is coming to Apple TV Plus this September.

Posted Aug 4, 2025 at 2:45 PM UTC Spike Lee's Highest 2 Lowest is coming to Apple TV Plus this September. In A24's Highest 2 Lowest — a remake of Akira Kurosawa's High and Low — Denzel Washington plays a music mogul (rather than a show company exec) whose son (Aubrey Joseph) is being held for random. The movie's new trailer doesn't spoil much of the plot, but it does make it seem like Highest 2 is going to be a tense watch when it hits theaters on August 5th and Apple TV Plus on September 5th. WWE fans react to Brock Lesnar's return amid sex trafficking case involvement: 'Just coward stuff'

Brock Lesnar shocked wrestling fans on Sunday night when his music hit the speakers at MetLife Stadium after John Cena lost the WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes. Cena was getting a standing ovation in his final SummerSlam when Lesnar's music blared for the first time in two years. Lesnar and Cena stared one another down for several minutes before Lesnar hopped into the ring and delivered his signature F5. The pop at the home of the New York Giants and Jets was deafening, and the reaction on social media was wild, as many fans loved to see one of WWE's greatest rivalries rekindled. However, the other side of the coin was shock, with a combination of disappointment. The main reason for Lesnar's absence is that he was directly named in the sex trafficking lawsuit against Vince McMahon (he is not listed as a defendant). Former WWE employee Janel Grant alleged that McMahon attempted to get Grant to have sex with Lesnar, in order to entice Lesnar to re-sign with the company. "WWE benefited financially from the commercial sex act venture orchestrated by McMahon, including by having wrestling talent, such as Brock Lesnar, sign new contracts with WWE after McMahon presented Ms. Grant as a sexual commodity for their use," the suit alleges. Lesnar is accused of asking Grant for a video of her urinating, to which she obliged, and also expressing his "desire" to have a sexual encounter. Thus, his return on Sunday drew the ire of many fans. "That rapist is allowed back in the wwe?" one user wrote. "Literally part of a lawsuit. But ok man," said another. "FYI, if anyone comes into my mention defending Brock Lesnar, who enabled and participated in the abhorrent torture of a young woman. I will not argue – I will block you. Protect women!" added one more. Fans also noticed that there was no usual formal press conference after either SummerSlam night. Instead, Paul "Triple H" Levesque and the other talent appeared on the WWE post show. "Triple H dropping the post show press conference so that no one could question him about bringing back a sex offender shows the scummy piece of s--- he is," one X post said. Another said the lack of press conferences were "just coward stuff."
