UAE Wins Seven Medals on Day One of the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Jordan
The UAE National Jiu-Jitsu Team, sponsored by Mubadala Investment Company, began its campaign at the 9th Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship with a strong performance, winning seven medals on the first day at Prince Hamzah Hall in Al Hussein Youth City, Amman.
The team won two gold, two silver, and three bronze medals in the men's divisions, reaffirming its dominance in one of the continent's most renowned jiu-jitsu competitions.
Theyab Al Nuaimi (56kg) and Mohamed Ali Al Suwaidi (69kg) took home gold medals. Omar Al Suwaidi (56kg) and Khaled Al Shehhi (62kg) took silver, while Mehdi Al Awlaki (77kg), Hazza Al Qubaisi (85kg), and Faraj Al Awlaki (94kg) won bronze.

Head Coach Helder Medeiros was pleased with the results, citing the high quality of play and the tremendous progress made by several Asian nations. He highlighted the team's continued analysis and preparation for the upcoming women's and under-21 competitions.
Gold medalist Theyab Al Nuaimi regarded his triumph as a proud moment for both himself and his teammates, recognising weeks of intense training and discipline. He praised both his coach and the federation for their ongoing support.

UAM steals show at UAE Muay Thai Youth Open Championship
18 Aug 2025 22:37 Abu Dhabi (Aletihad)The UAE Muay Thai Youth Open Championship concluded with great success in Dubai with the UAM team securing the main three-day competition was held at Dubai World Trade Centre, featuring 422 fighters from 49 clubs in the country and even abroad. In the team standings, UAM secured 17 medals with a whopping 15 of them being gold along with a silver and bronze. Al Khaleej Club followed in second place with 15 medals (5 gold, 9 silver, 1 bronze), while ADMA Academy came third with 13 medals (5 gold, 4 silver, 4 bronze). The finals featured 109 bouts across two rings, with age groups ranging from 10 to 17 years, all under the supervision of 30 referees. The fifth round of the second edition of the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship for no-gi competitions concluded today (Sunday) at Al Nasr Club in Dubai. The event drew a large crowd and created an energetic atmosphere, featuring top athletes across the under-18, adult, and master categories. The final day witnessed fierce contests that showcased a high technical level, reflecting the rapid development of jiu-jitsu in the UAE and its leading role on the global stage. Experienced athletes delivered strong performances, raising the level of competition and intensity. At the end of the round, Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club topped the overall standings, with M.O.D UAE in second place and Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club in third. The closing ceremony was attended by H.E.
