Notre Dame football is projected to land high 4-star '26 defensive end Rodney Dunham.
Notre Dame football started its spring practices this past week, and with that brought not only the excitement for the upcoming season, but also recruits across the country.
One of the biggest names to be in South Bend this week was 2026 North Carolina defensive end Rodney Dunham. In a post on social media Saturday afternoon, the nation's No. 33 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings said he had an 'amazing visit.'
Then on Sunday, more good news for the Irish came, as On3's Mike Singer made a prediction that Dunham would eventually be part of Notre Dame's recruiting class. This would be a massive recruiting win, as there aren't many players across the country that are better than him.
There is still a long way to go in his recruitment, but at this moment, Notre Dame has put themselves in a fantastic position to land the elite pass rusher.

The summer recruiting season is in full swing. Schools are hosting recruits and holding camps, like the Longhorns did last week. elite Five-Star Challenge is in 11 days. Recruits are making tough decisions by either reducing the number of schools on their list or outright committing. Texas has seen four players commit in the past week. DT Dylan Berymon, WR Kohen Brown, DT Corey Wells and P Mikey Bukauskas have all added their names to the list of committed prospects in UT's 2026 recruiting class. Advertisement The Longhorns currently have 13 prospects pledged to play on the 40 Acres. According to On3's industry team rankings, Texas has the No. 13 class in the nation. In the past few years, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian has a measured approach to recruiting early in the cycle. There will be signings early, but many of the elite prospects want to wait until closer to National Signing Day in December. Much of the summer is spent building relationships with those five-star and high four-star players so Texas is in good position to sign them late. Much like Justus Terry in the 2025 cycle. Here's a look at the current 2026 Longhorn recruiting class using On3's industry rankings, which combines all of the ratings from the major recruiting sites. Remember, the devil is in the details. Bukauskas is the No. 1585 ranked player in the nation, but he is the No. 1 punter. Joe Theismann praises Notre Dame's future after loss to Chiefs' Josh Simmons' alma mater

Joe Theismann praises Notre Dame's future after loss to Chiefs' Josh Simmons' alma mater This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke to Washington Commanders and NFL legend Joe Theismann about his participation in this year's American Century Championship, which will take place July 9-13 at Edgewood Tahoe, and his thoughts on Notre Dame's promising future after falling short in the National Championship game against Kansas City Chiefs rookie Josh Simmons' Ohio State Buckeyes. "I like competing against Jerry Rice, you know; I felt like my game was a little bit like Jerry's, and I'm a little bit older, So my game is not quite where it is, but he's one I enjoy competing against it." said Theismann, "Ryan Fitzpatrick has been there, and we've had so many different guys I've played. Jerome Bettis is there, and Timmy (Tim) Brown is there. They're younger and hit the ball much further right now. So, I'm working on my game. I'm working on my short game; that's what I'm doing. It's all about the short game and making putts. That's what I'm working on." Theisman was a Notre Dame legend, earning College Football Hall of Fame honors during his time at the university. He praised the progress of his alma mater, which came close to a national title, as Ohio State defeated them without Simmons, who was recovering from a torn patellar tendon earlier in the season. "I'm impressed more than just happy. I think Marcus (Freeman) has done a terrific job establishing a culture. And keep in mind, we've done this with three different quarterbacks. I mean, he finally has somebody," said Theismann, "CJ Carr, I'm assuming, possibly the starting quarterback. He's one of the few people who's been on the roster for a year or so, so there's a much greater familiarity for Mike Denbrock, our offensive coordinator, to be able to work with over the last couple of years we've brought different guys in, and now it's an opportunity to be able to have someone that's been there understand the system and the philosophy. Still, Marcus has done a fabulous job for us at the university." The annual tournament awards $750,000 in prize money, much of which the celebrity players donate to local and national charities. Over the years, nearly $8 million has been donated to non-profit causes. Network television exposure on NBC and a first-place prize of $150,000 make the celebrity tournament one of the most prestigious in the golf world.
