Yemen Authorities Intercept Spoiled Flour Shipment
In a move to safeguard public health, Yemen's Authority for Specifications, Metrology and Quality Control has intercepted a 5,000-ton shipment of spoiled flour at the Ma'alla port in Aden.
The shipment, which originated from the Arab Republic of Egypt, was found to be contaminated with mold and insects, and had been exposed to salt water during transportation.
The authority's inspection revealed that the flour was unfit for human consumption, prompting the refusal of entry.
According to official documents, the shipment consisted of 2,500 tons of "Emirate" flour and 2,500 tons of "Bon" flour, both bearing a production date of November 2024.
The Public Prosecution of Industry and Trade has launched an investigation into the matter, with the authority's report serving as evidence.
The incident highlights the need for stringent quality control measures to prevent the entry of substandard goods into the Yemeni market.

Sana'a – Saba: Major General Mohammed Farhan, Director of the Higher War College, accompanied by Brigadier General Maher Shafa'a, Commander of the Heavy Transport Brigade, on Sunday visited wounded personnel at the Model Police Hospital.
