5-star CB Brandon Arrington sets commitment date with Oregon football as a finalist
On Monday morning, 5-star cornerback Brandon Arrington took to his social media and teased some big news to come. On Monday night, he delivered, announcing that he was cutting his recruitment down to two schools — the Oregon Ducks and Texas A&M Aggies — and moving his commitment date up to this Thursday, June 19.
Arrington was originally set to announce his commitment on July 5, but after taking an official visit to Oregon earlier this month, he is accelerating that timeline. However, Arrington is also scheduled to take an official visit to Texas A&M this coming weekend. It seems as if he will either take that visit as the newest member of the Aggies' 2026 class or cancel that visit after committing to Oregon.
Arrington stands at 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, and is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 10 player in the 2026 class and the No. 1 ATH. From Spring Valley, California, Oregon has been recruiting him heavily for a long time now and is projected as one of the favorites to land him.
There are currently no Crystal Ball projections for Arrington on 247Sports, but the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Texas A&M Aggies as the heavy favorite to land the 5-star player, with Steve Wiltfong logging a prediction all the way back in October of 2024.
In just a few days, we will find out at long last where the blue-chip player is headed.

Oregon Ducks Looking to Flip Elite 11 QB From Regional Rival
Oregon Ducks Looking to Flip Elite 11 QB From Regional Rival originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Oregon Ducks and Boise State Broncos have not had a good relationship over the past couple of decades, with a few heated battles on the gridiron forming a healthy rivalry between the pair of Pacific Northwest foes. Advertisement That rivalry could get even more contentious if Dan Lanning and the Ducks are able to pull off a recruiting flip that they're after, stealing away Boise State quarterback commit Bryson Beavers. On Wednesday night, Oregon offered Beavers a scholarship after watching him throw at a recruiting camp, and according to On3's Steve Wiltfong, Beaver is strongly entertaining the offer and considering a flip away from the Broncos. Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning leads his team onto the Pietsch/The Register-Guard / USA TODAY NETWORK 'I threw for Oregon tonight and they offered,' Beaver told On3. 'I'm super stoked.' On3 ranks Beavers as the No. 22 QB in the 2026 class, but with his invite to the Elite 11 finals, his recruitment is expected to take off in the near future with more eyeballs on the 6-foot-3, 195-pound passer. Advertisement At the moment, Beavers has offers from the likes of Oregon, Boise State, California, UNLV, and Utah, among some other small schools. That could change quickly, though. For the Ducks, getting a QB in the class of 2026 is a big need, at the moment. Earlier this year, they missed out on 5-star Jared Curtis, who picked the Georgia Bulldogs. They are in a good spot to land 5-star Ryder Lyons, but the BYU Cougars are also lurking for the Utah native, with a reported hefty NIL offer on the board to keep him home. Ultimately, Lanning may end up going the developmental route for a passer in this class rather than landing a big fish in the recruiting world. In the past, we've seen that work for Oregon, with guys like Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota and NFL star Justin Herbert coming to Eugene as 3-star recruits. Oregon Ducks Pull Off Recruiting Victory With Much-Needed Addition
Oregon Ducks Pull Off Recruiting Victory With Much-Needed Addition originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Oregon Ducks have been struggling on the recruiting trail this year more than normal, but they got things going in the rigth direction on Friday with a big-time addition. Advertisement 4-star wide reciever Messiah Hampton announced his commitment to the Ducks, choosing Oregon over the likes of Syracuse, Penn State, Miami, and Ohio State. Hampton is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 102 player in the 2026 class, and the No. 11 WR. He is also the No. 1 ranked player in New York. For Dan Lanning and his staff, this is a big addition. It is the first commitment they've gotten since landing 5-star EDGE Richard Wesley, who ended up decommitting just 17 days after jumping into a pool with the head coach to make his announcement. Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning.© Kirby Lee-Imagn Images Before Hampton's commitment, Oregon had the No. 42 class in the 2026 cycle. With the addition of Hampton, they move up to No. 33 in the nation, which is still a far cry from the top-five classes that Lanning has landed in Eugene recently, but it's a step in the right direction. Advertisement Things could improve more on that front soon, too. Oregon hosted six 5-star players on official visits last weekend, and they have another long-list of blue-chip players in town this weekend, including 5-star QB Ryder Lyons. Hampton is the first WR to commit to Oregon in this cycle, but the Ducks are also in on guys like Calvin Russell, Chris Henry Jr., and Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, as well. While the latter two are committed to Ohio State, Oreogn is still pushing hard in their recruitment until signing day comes in December. Oregon Ducks Receive Major News About 5-Star DB in 2026 Class
Oregon Ducks Receive Major News About 5-Star DB in 2026 Class originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks are starting to get on a recruiting hot streak, with the big addition of 4-star wide receiver Messiah Hampton last week. Advertisement On Sunday, after a weekend of big-name recruits on campus for official visits, Oregon picked up a big recruiting prediction from On3's Steve Wiltfong. According to the recruiting analyst, Oregon is going to get a commitment from 5-star safety Jett Washington. Washington is rated by 247Sports as the No. 18 player in the 2026 class, and the No. 2 safety in the nation. Standing at 6-foot-5, 200 pounds, Washington is a lengthy safety that fits the profile of player Oregon has been after in the secondary under Lanning. Oregon Ducks freshman DB Na'eem Offord and Dan LanningPhoto Courtesy of Na'eem Offord Washington took an official visit to Eugene earlier this month, and left raving about the Ducks. He is the second 5-star player to join Oregon's 2026 class, joining No. 1 ranked TE Kendre Harrison. Advertisement Oregon also briefly held a commitment from 5-star EDGE Richard Wesley, but he decommitted after just 17 days of being in the class. Going forward, there is a good chance that Oregon stays on a recruiting hot streak, with a number of 5-star players set to come off of the board, with the Ducks in a good spot to land them. We've seen Oregon sign top-five ranked classes the past two years under Lanning, and there is a good chance that they can do so again if they get commitments from the players who are currently projected to end up in Eugene.
