Hayley Atwell was eight months pregnant filming Mission: Impossible fight scene
The Marvel actress, who plays pickpocket Grace in the action franchise, revealed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday that she performed a key fight scene alongside Tom Cruise while heavily pregnant.
Before showing a clip of their fight, Atwell said, "I've never said before, actually. This is a Fallon exclusive. But during this fight sequence, we came back to it a few times to add a few elements to it. And in this clip, I'm actually eight and a half months pregnant."
When Fallon expressed his shock, she continued, "I'm serious. Yes. And I have to say, I was taken such good care of. Everyone was so supportive and they were like, 'Oh, you can sit down, and we'll have a stunt double do it.' And I was like, 'No! I've worked too hard. Let me do it.' So I did it, and here it is."
Atwell, 43, quietly welcomed her first child with her partner Ned Wolfgang Kelly last year. The news was revealed in November when she was photographed holding a baby and pushing a pram in London.
However, when asked to address new motherhood in an interview with The Guardian in February, the private star replied, "I can't go there on something that's just too precious. And I've learned that to speak for anyone in my personal life that hasn't chosen a life in the public eye, it does them a disservice."
Atwell got engaged to Kelly in 2023, and she referred to him as her husband during a TV interview earlier this month.

"I'm glad that they reinforced that costume," she later said. "And I'm glad I had underwear on. I don't usually wear underwear." Lopez later tossed the skirt to fans in the crowd and told them to "keep it," joking that she didn't "want it back." Lopez was praised by fans for how she laughed off the onstage wardrobe malfunction. Marvel's "The Fantastic Four: First Steps," starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, opened to an impressive $118 million at the domestic box office this weekend, according to estimates released by Comscore on Sunday, July 27. The anticipated numbers put the film's debut just slightly below that of DC's "Superman," with David Corenswet as the Man of Steel, which opened to $125 million at the North American box office earlier this month. We may all know and love Pedro Pascal as the internet's favourite incredibly charming moustached man, but there's one role that the Fantastic Four star says made him swear off the clean-shaven look forever – Wonder Woman 1984. The 50-year-old's facial hair is a key part of his trademark look but when he took on the part of television-personality-turned-villain Maxwell Lord in Patty Jenkin's 2020 clean-shaven sequel, the star was required to shave the lot off. In an interview with LADbible, alongside his Marvel co-star Vanessa Kirby, he was asked which was sexier, moustaches or beards. 'I grow such s*** facial hair,' Pedro commented. 'I were to shave it all off, I really look very [awful]. Strongly disagree with a clean-shaven me. 'I was so appalled by the way I look in Wonder Woman 1984. I loved the movie, but I was so appalled by the way that I looked that I never have gone back unless it were completely necessary. 'If they asked me to be clean-shaven for , and insisted, then I would've done it. But it was a very collaborative creation for all of our looks in the movie.' Fortunately for Pedro (and let's be real, for us too), he wasn't required to reach for the razor for the role of Reed Richards – although some Marvel fans weren't happy with the Mandalorian actor's casting. 'I'm more aware of disgruntlement around my casting than anything I've ever done,' he previously told Vanity Fair. 'He's too old. He's not right. He needs to shave,' Pascal said, sharing the swathes of online complaints surrounding his latest role. While the movie hits UK cinemas this week, it's been confirmed that the quartet will also be appearing among the all-star cast of Avengers: Doomsday MCU on screen for the first time.
